alphaRonaldo The black magic cine camera from point 2 is 16k@90fps. We just can't play it back yet still, future proofing and will look much better downsampled to 8k.

fenderwq Looks like rtx5000 series will be able to play back 16k, as it now has hardware decoding for the same format apple vision pro embeds in it's immersive format (MV-HEVC). Apple vision pro's immersive video is 4320x4320 per eye at 90fps and in HDR10. Which also means the apple vision pro could probably play back the full 8160 x 7200 resolution per eye of the Black magic cam at 60fps SDR. We can finally say goodbye to 8K boys 🙂

why would you watch 2d porn on a headset if you have a good monitor? my 4k 32 inch monitor will always looks better than the same video made to fit inside half the fov of my quest 3 because in terms of pixels per degree the monitor is denser. Is this supposed to be for people that do not have a good display? But they can have any source of hires flat porn, so what's the business case?

doublevr apple's headset has 150% more pixels than a quest3 so of course it will look good but what kind of comparison is that? $3500 for a headset that is about to be discontinued that might be slightly better or worse looking than a 4k oled monitor for $1000 that can also be used for pc and console gaming. and you still have to put it on your face.

Sounds like VR is going to be largely neglected this year, even though that's what everyone came here for. The priority seems to be growth #1.

Coincidentally I just watched some flat VR porn on my AVP yesterday. The AVP Moonplayer has an option to convert flat to 3D in realtime. Of course it's not 100% perfect but I do like it and it looks pretty cool!

Also can't wait for the new DeoVR Hyper app for the AVP.

doublevr VR production simply can't match all the variety and greatness of flat. With flat we are expanding our library from 40k to 500k videos by year-end. Think of SLR most popular performers getting a ton of flat content on top of VR making us above any competition

putting on a headset is inconvenient. I don't think many people will wear one just to watch 2D content

this feels like another out-of-touch Zuckerberg moment. hardly anyone is going to wear a half a kg device to read emails or watch 2D porn. they'll wear it for things they can't do without it

I think I see what he's saying, if i'm correct then SLR are going to add a lot of 2D porn videos (not filming their own in 2D) in order to attract 2D wankers to the platform where they can then be introduced to VR content. These 2D videos could be sourced from the regular 2D porn studios and/or OnlyFans or they might be converting VR to 2D

VR content (originals or all?) will be free in low quality so viewers can get a little taste of VR at no cost. VR will be streamable on phones to break into the phone wanker market - they will hopefully buy a VR headset and then sign up to a SLR subscription and then buy toys, scripts, drive, etc

It could be an idea to run these announcements through a PR team that can clarify things in the main post otherwise it kind of comes across as random thoughts without explanations and makes everyone a bit confused

Either way it sounds like there might be a big growth of new users which means more content for everyone to enjoy 👍️

If 2D being added is meant to funnel 2D enjoyers into the VR space, I understand. 2D in that instance is a tool used for VR to grow.

But I reeeeally want for 2D not to be a focus on a VR PLATFORM. Haven't even reached the end of VR possibility & content on SLR & now 2D is being mentioned. One or both of these things may be negatively affected quality wise this year. I wonder which & hope neither

Also @doublevr, what are some features DeoVR Hyper has that aren't present with Deovr? I'm curious to know if any or all of Deovr app feedback has been pushed towards DeoVR Hyper in the last couple of months

I'm telling you now this isn't about customers, this is about a businesss transaction that will bring 2D to customers in the hope of expansion - It wlll fail, simple as that and cost silly amounts of money to play these silly games !

I'm just being honest and seen it all before ...

X-Box game pass is starting to fail as i predicted, any subscription service will fail eventually for many reasons that they just don't understand

If you wanna make money just do what has always worked 🙂
