Nobody that DOESN"T have a VR headset is ever going to pay money for free porn. Never going to happen. Why would you?
So only people that have a VR headset and want to get porn the legal way are going to be able to see it. But why would you take the time to buy a SLR sub and buy a headset then go and watch 2d porn. It is never going to happen.

Just look at the 1 flat video SLR did as a test. It got 50 dislike comments. A couple SLR employee trying to say it is great and every other person disliked it. SLR tested it and thought it was a great success.

I don't think anybody is going to join because if it but as long as I don't see it in the VR feed then out of sight out of mind. Minus the money wasted that should go to what I paid for.
I do see one video in the VR feed today that is 2d. That shouldn't happen or people are going to get pretty mad fast

You don't need a VR headset to watch 2D porn on SLR, you can watch 2D and VR porn on a normal PC monitor if you wanted to and it looks fine (no side-by-side)

If they do end up attracting a lot of big and medium 2D studios to SLR then it will be a no brainer for anyone looking to pay for porn to give it a try. You get access to lots of studios for your money, just like a regular SLR VR subscription - that's the big appeal. It just takes time for an honest try at it, all the while everyone is shitting on the idea 😆

The difficult thing is getting new people introduced to VR porn, once they are on the platform for 2D they are 50% of the way to buying a cheap Quest 2 off eBay and then they'll want to try sex toys and it snowballs from there. So I can hardly blame SLR for trying this approach, maybe they do actually want to be a top tier 2D streaming website and any VR convert customers are a bonus

SLR need to brand it better though, i'm 100% aware of their dive into flat porn but trying to find and differentiate it on the website is a confusing mess

They should just put a tab at the top left that says "2D porn" with a ? mouseover icon that explains it and stop calling it flat. Flat is confusing, especially to people that do not watch VR

And then there is "Flat immersive" - I have no clue what that even is. By nature 2D is not immersive and it's not VR converts, so what is it? Even the comments on the videos are confused by it

I'm surprised they have not 100% successfully automated 2D porn video tagging and recognition, the metadata should be able to identify it surely, if not then they can identify it via thumbnail posters which all videos have

Either way they are attempting to bring more life into the website so i'm optimistic

jommy I like what you said but I have a couple of questions.
Is there a website already that has a lot of big studios that you can pay money to to get everything all in one place? I don't know of one. I only ever hear of the big free sites or subbing to one site someone likes. If there isn't one already then why is that? If there is one then what will SLR offer over a site that has been around already.

Maybe you will be right or maybe I will be right. I just don't think people looking up 2D porn on a site is going to somehow make people go and buy a VR headset. And I don't think people looking for 2D porn are going to pay for it. Maybe I am wrong.

If they want to get people into VR porn then they should have like 3 or 4 videos by SLR that are 2 years old be free. Give them 3 Nash masterpieces to watch then they will buy a sub.

I bought a HTC vive headset in 2016 because I had heard of VR porn and wanted to see it. I had to have my brother help me to set it up because i didn't even know how to make it work. So if someone buys a quest for games but porn is easy to try then they will. You just need them to try it.

Pornhubpremium and faphouse/xhamsterpremium have many studio videos under one membership but they are less transparent when listing which studios so it feels a bit scammy and badly thought out imo. Faphouse might actually be a token system and i'm unsure about pornhubpremium, they seriously lack transparency!

Some VR websites on the other hand are very clear which studios you have included in a membership and that you can stream all videos without a token system, for example:

So it is proof that 2D studios are open to uploading content to a platform, I just don't know what kind of deals or profit-share they have agreed to on 2D so can't say if SLR will have the same kind of success

It might be another case of shitty old outdated porn selling methods by the 2D market, where as VR is exploring new things for the benefit of paying customers

You have to think that a lot of people are not even exposed to the idea of watching VR porn, they are blissfully unaware and think 2D is the bees knees. If they sign up to SLR or even just browse it (because 2D porn brought them there) then that's a foot in the door to the VR world

If people didn't pay for 2D porn then it wouldn't exist, it's a business and not a charity. 😆 Sure lots of people freeload, but there are enough people paying to make it profitable

If there is an easy way to pay for good quality and quantity, then some people will pay. Just look at Spotify/Apple Music - people gladly pay a monthly fee for access to millions of tracks, it is a whole lot easier than pirating each album
Netflix and other streaming platforms are similar, people are paying for those because it is easy and works - more tech savvy people might not though

I'm no stranger to piracy but even I pay for an SLR membership and Spotify because it makes everything easier and it supports the content production

I bought my headset 99% for porn, I think that anyone that consumes porn regularly and wants something more will not regret the purchase, they just don't know about it enough imo - maybe i'm totally wrong though, who knows!

Forcing the immersive flat videos onto a VR audience by mixing them into the VR feed was the wrong decision. When I want to check out those videos (which I am doing every now and then), I can hardly find them because the are indistinguishable from VR. When I want to watch VR, which is most of the time, I am in for bad surprises. So I have to toggle flat off and over time will probably forget that these videos exist. They should really be in a section of their own, like cams.

Moreover, AI PT is pointless on pretty much all flat. A video image silhouette constantly changing scale and perspective floating around in your room - can't figure out what should be the use case for this.

I tried the Flat Immersion videos last night. I thought it was going to do something other than what HereSphere has been able to do from the beginning.
Am I missing something? The only thing I could do was warp the sides of the video and zoom in and out. I there something else you can do? That is just a 2d video player.

It's funny reading this now. At least 1/3 of these things don't look to be happening: Drive: deprecated, Hyper:nothing to do with SLR apparently ,probably not happening this year, and so far I haven't seen anything about new payment plans. Anything else on this roadmap that's no longer applicable?

2d to 3d got canceled.

To be fair I do like having 2d content and there are some good studios but there is just so much low qualitly filler content. It should be 4k only. 1080p looks really grainy on a VR headset. Passable on a smaller screen but that really shouldn't be the goal here. Haven't been able to test it on a TV because the promised chromecast feature is still supposivly "comming soon". I've even come across some that are 720p max, what a joke.

What's it say about a site that claims to be a top vr provider and their front page is loaded with garbage 2d scenses?

I'm rooting for the site 100% but like others said VR needs to be the top priority.

Give us some Dezyred like content or partner with some game devs to instead of 2d.

For a fair comparison you need to give flat at least a year to grow viewer numbers, SLR has always been known as a VR website so it's not on the radar of 2D viewers until word gets out which takes time and money

SLR should be sticking to their Bread & Butter which imo is AI Scripts & PT (which is fucked up right now for a bunch of scenes) and providing Top Tier scenes from SLROriginals and other Top Studios.

Losing studios like WankzVR, MilfVR & now SinsVR (all no longer providing updates) is extremely concerning.

I think they should have a "No Download" option for some studios that want it (I know some people will hate this) ... better to have "Stream Only" with AI PT & Scripts than no scenes at all.

Stream Only for BadoinkVR, VRBangers, VRConk, etc. needs to be looked into.

This is what SLR should be spending time on, getting amazing VR content. Not losing it...

Absolutely hit the nail on the head! I would 100x rather have wankz, milf, badoink, vrb, etc as "Stream Only" and with 4+ month release delay, than not have them at all! Besides, one of the things this site is still best at is AIPT streaming anyway; material from those sites could really be elevated here, given the chance. 🤞

Don't give them this very bad idea. This would be the start of the ends of downloads for everything. At this moment, only JAV have this treatment. If they give it to some "mainstream" studio, you really expect others will not ask the same thing?

I totally got the idea of expanding the audience with 2D - once it was obvious after a decade that VR has not become the future of porn - but was always wondering why this was never properly advertised. Not even a single word about it on the new website which is still all about VR. Actually, SLR already became a 2D website once they had flattened the entire VR library but this happened in absolute secret.

I share your sentiments. New SLR is a start for other projects release from OP. There will be more of them coming. I'll follow up after releases go public. Makes no sense to speculate on dates given complexity and dynamics. Everyone is working hard to get things done and we are building a strong foundation for a robust VR platform

We are fully committed to get things done and get it great. Unfortunately we have got our major releases running in parallel. New slr is the first one to go. Keep the whining part to yourself or gtfo.

There does seem to be some effort in getting new content. I've noticed that yanks and vrgodess have been uploading new videos. Ddfvr also put a few up but stopped, not sure what that was about. Would be nice if they could pull in some more big studios even if it is delayed or stream only.
