Credits didn’t reset at the beginning of the month as promised. Shocker!

Can I send you guys a SLR Drive link to check out why it isn't working for AI passthrough?

It's not CGI, toons or whatever, it's a real person in a bedroom, but the lighting is mostly blue which maybe confuses the AI passthrough?

shankpot12 Who realistically is going to churn 60 videos a month? Upload time for a single video is pretty long,

Oh I could do that is a weekend. You put a bunch in, and let them do their thing, come back later or the next day and and finalize them. You have to remember, just cause you upload a video does not mean its gonna be your cup of tea. So you have to go the the next, or find one you are just in the mood for. I might go through a bunch and just hit the high spots and say nah until I find the one that catches my eye. In other words, I upload 60 bideos but only get off to 5 of them maybe. Thats a bit of an exaggeration but who knows, sometimes you get a bunch of doozies in a row

fuccaneer Not sure why the 500gb is so important. Its not like drive is really going to be long term storage for anyone with big video sizes. Even 50 or 100 gigs would be fine. Just enough to render some videos, wank, and move on. You arent likely to watch a video more than once or twice anyway. And if you are, you come back to it in a month or something and reupload it.

Not sure where they are coming up with the $15 cost anyway or what its really based on. Maybe they dont know either. It was $30 at first for like 2tb... now its $15 for 500bg. I dont understand. Stroage slashed 4x but the cost only halves? I guess it really depends how much people are uploading and using SLR to render with AI, and nobody really knows yet. sounds like doublevr is pressing for unlimited credits, but current idea is like 20 credits or something? Wouldnt it make more sense to have a daily cap rather than a monthly cap? Like 5 or 10 per day or something. Seems like that could solve the credit amount issue by making it daily vs monthly or unlimited

If there's no downloads then the uploaded videos need to stay uploaded to be useful. 50-100 GB isn't going to be enough storage if you're a PT/script crackhead that wants more than one choice of video to wank to. People aren't going to want burn credits by repeatedly uploading their favorite videos either, nor are they going to want to spend all day re-uploading when they could have been stored.

Hairsational No what Im saying is.... 50 or 100 gigs is fine for 1 day worth of videos. Do you not agree with that? Should give you pleanty of choice for a days worth. Even for me, one of those crackheads you meantion. I dont need 500gigs of storage cause tomorrow Im not going to watch anthing I uploaded today. Does that make sense? And if I dont watch all the 50 or 100 gigs I uploaded today... I will tomorrow. So still problem solved. It makes more sense to have a lower storage cap to keep the cost down, and just have a daily cap on credits vs monthly. You only have to worry about 1 day at a time anyway.

A side note is you are talking like everyone is going to 100% only use drive and its capabilities and just completely stop using SLR uloaded content. Not going to happen, even for you. The honeymoon high wears off quick. Drive is a just a feature of the website, its not taking over the website, and Im sure the developers and all the people involved with getting it up and going know this is a realistic way to look at it.

not sure if this is also in the pipeline but imo would be good idea to besides just the subscription models, be able to buy individual credits as well. like $1 a credit or something would be cool

sogman the use case you describe is the opposite of what I would think the average user utilizes a streaming service for. We don’t want hours of work to prepare to wank. I want to be able to log on, select a video, and go on about my day. I’d much prefer the larger storage because as I learned yesterday after finally getting credits to renew… recycling videos is a pain in the ass. It takes forever. I don’t want to be doing that every few days. 500gb is a nice balance for that- I can just go upload 10-15 videos one day and be good for a month. There’s plenty of other options in the SLR videos to not need 30 videos from other sites every week. Maybe you are thinking you would upload new shit you never saw before, but to me that sounds like a waste of time. I only intend to use drive for videos not hosted here that I have seen and would like to revisit in PT.

shankpot12 NoI understand your perspective. I guess what Im getting at is you say for you 10 or 15 videos is good for a month. The user amount is kinda subjective, but lets say 15 videos for a month. Thats you. And every single one of those 15 videos is going to be a winner for you? Do you see what I mean? I personally dont want to have to force them to be good cause I ran out of credits.

It doesnt have to be. Just have a daily cap of 10 or 15 credits, or do unlimited as most people probably wont be using much anyway, if what you are saing is really the average person. And if you have 10 or 15 videos uploaded and you dont want to mess around for a month, have at it. I want the option to mess with it daily cause thats me. A daily cap makes more sense, I dare say even more than unlimited monthly

The storage is only to render videos, thats all we care about drive for. If the bottleneck is cloud storage space, well we all have hard drives on our computers or laptops and expandable storage is dirt cheap. 500gig hdd refirbished just for backup videos like $15 on amazon. Id rather keep the cost down and put it towards credits. Rendering in passthrough and scripts with AI is legit all we are here for. Everybody and their brother is selling cloud storage for dirt cheap.

doublevr does full functionality include flat-to-3D? Only asking because I just saw that being offered in the last few days.

                As5m0deu5 that's right.
We plan adding all the special treatments to your uploads like voice synthesis translations, subtitles and everything that's coming out. There's a ton of it.

doublevr That sounds awesome! I for one am pumped, I think I'm probably your target audience lol πŸ˜†

doublevr what is a voice synthesis translation? Translating non-English dialog into English?

As5m0deu5 yes. Can’t wait for JAV videos in English

I might have missed it but are there any plans on allowing slr drive to accept 2160p, h264 videos and also do ai passthrough? If it's possible I would upload 2160p Av1 but a lot of the videos I would want to upload don't come in that format and I only have them in h264. Trust me I wouldn't want to waste my storage space still are not if I don't have to but most of what I have is in that other format

sogman Actually, the reality is that you don't need giant file sizes anymore. Get some sort of free Video codec converter like Handbrake and you can take a 9 gig file down to 2 or 3 gig file. That means if you have 500 gb of space in SLR Drive, theoretically you could have anywhere from 166 to 250 videos at any one time or perhaps more. Now, if your collection of files is greater than THAT then WOWIE you may have a problem lol. This is probably also true for even your 2D vids if you want to upload those. Given they tend to be a bit smaller, then converting them likely would create even smaller file sizes such that your 2D content would be an even smaller chunk than usual.

You can convert to H.265 or if you REALLY want to save space, AV1

svanir That nukes the video quality and also takes a long time.
