Passthrough: Don't mask hands

Hi there, I love passthrough, but I'm often forced to turn it off when the actor gets handsy.

E.g. if the actor grabs the pornstar's boobs, her boobs just entirely vanish altogether. Or if the actor has his hands on the pornstar's hips/legs, a big chunk of the pornstar's body also disappears, leading to something very unnatural.

Could we please update AI Passthrough so it does not mask hands?

Mate they have given you every AI passthrough option you could want, you just need to work out how to use it.

There are 3 AI passthrough modes

1)Clicking on just the passthrough button shows the female actor, shows the male actor hands and body and hides the background (this is what you are requesting)

2)Clicking the passthrough button then clicking 'hide male' shows just the female actor and as the name suggests hides the male actor (penis and all) often hiding chunks of her body when the male that is being hidden starts touching her because again as the name suggests the male is being hidden (this is what you are complaining about)

3)Clicking passthrough then clicking 'show penis' does the some as option 2 but this time as the name suggests it shows the male penis (this is also what you are complaining about)

So there you have it something for everyone, and it is all actually it is all pretty self explanatory and intuitive I'm amazed you couldn't work it out yourself, but I hope that helped.

Tiverton the male body in took me a while to realize as the buttons look like and partially behaves as a toggle but that's not the point. I think what he's asking for is to have male out pass-through that fills in the gaps caused by hands with Ai so you see a complete body. Don't think that's very feasible seeing how Ai pass-through works and current Ai limitations though otherwise I'd have requested it myself.

Yeah, its annoying when you suddenly have hand/arm-shaped blobs of your desk/bedroom hiding the models tits. Is the viewer supposed to raise their own arms to replace the background?

The perfect scenario for me would be to see the model's entire body regardless of the stunt cock's actions. But once the hand is there, that part of the video is obstructed and it would be a long stretch to imagine that you could just paste in tits or whatever from another segment of video and get a decent product.

In my mind, that leaves 2 choices for AI mask:

Mask the entire male (minus cock or whatever)--which is what they do now and hence this thread
Keep the outline of the female body inviolate so that any object passing in front of it is not made transparent. Of course, this means that you will see the male hands and that will raise the debate of what is more "immersive": disembodied hands or transparent hand outlines.

Also #2 may present some challenges to the AI to identify all the edges of the female body. There are probably some areas down low where you'd want the model to be occluded so the viewer can see their own body. And different positions could present different challenges. Maybe only use it on select positions like cowgirl where the chance of hands covering tits is more likely.

fuccaneer yeah exactly. Don't think option 2 is much better either. In theory it's a really nice feature though (filling in the gaps with AI) but very unlikely to happen short term.

The hand shaped blobs are annoying to you but were designed to accommodate the customer who finds seeing male hands that are not his annoying and immersion breaking. This customer would rather see the blank space than see hands which are clearly not his.

What I mean is that they have a hide the male option because some people don't want to see the male at all and these people would rather see the blank space than see male hands that don't belong to him. These are the people that the hide male toggle was designed to serve, so to then have a hide male toggle that doesn't actually hide the male would not serve these people and defeat the purpose of having a hide male toggle.

jojo321 I think exactly the same thing it is impossible for me to appreciate a scene when I see the actor's body it kills any possible immersion unfortunately and for me the best scenes with ia passthrough are those where the girl is alone and teases you

I have a theory that a huge chunk of the people who like passthrough do not even really care as much as you would think about the pornstar in your room aspect of it and more so like passthrough scenes because they are some of the only scenes in VR porn where the guy doesn't repeatedly put his hands in the frame and his presence in general is minimal.

jojo321 Have to disagree with that. There are plenty of times the lighting on your stomach and thigns and whatever are so off, it looks off. Dude in video might have a different skintone to you but its nice to have to option to see him or toggle off. If you see him you can just use a little imagination like we do with all this anyway.

Just saying, lighting make a huge difference, maybe not in the room or place you personally VR in but for me and others for example, lot of lighting coming in through the side window. So as a result where the models leg would be next to me should not be all lighted up on my stomach and side... it should be a shadow cause her leg is there. But its not. So it looks weird and breaks immersion, she looks more like a cardboard cutout. But the guy model.. though the lighting and shadows are different in the studio, at least it makes sense in relation to her on him. If that makes sense. So I sometimes would like the option to sorta use his frame if lighting and shadows isnt working for me depending on the time of the day.

At this point PT cannot augment her shadows onto your body or environment, though I really hope they work on this. Im sure they will. Would be dope. And maybe correct lighting brightness and contrast automatically to mimmic your surroundings and time of day etc. They are also working currently on allowing your hands and arms to pass in front of the model instead of going behind, which is really cool

eventually it gets boring and you need more interaction. There will always be the videos you talk about, but they are a category in their own. I love the quality of some of the SLR exclusives in that grey room, but honestly they tend to be super dull unfortunately. Even with a hot ass mode. Cause you turn the passthrough off for a second and see this guy in a straight suite strapped to a table and you know what is not going to happen. A lot. A lot is not going to happen. So if you are into that go ahead, they are great quality. I personally love the vredging ones where hes laying like a slug and shes by his side jerking him off lol. But I dont watch them all day long either cause it gets dull if you never see him do anthing.

Its not different from years back where you watch some low quality junk flat mode on your phone, and you see the dude smack her ass while hes going at it. And you dont think much of it, but you do imagine you are that guy, like we all do. And you didnt have a problem with it. You still need that in vr passthrough, even if they havent figured out every angle yet. You still need that interaction or it will just make for a visually immersive but totally stale AF video.

Tiverton Yeah well also during sex, you want to smack an ass or grab a thigh or boob or something. You know, normal sex stuff. But hes basically saying he nolonger wants to see any of that, which I get his reasoning, but if the option is to never see that again or see it than Id rather see it. Porn is just a drama where you use your imagination, but if you take that stuff away you just make it a more boring drama where you have to use way way more imagination.

I hear what your saying and yes if your room isn't lit correctly than that will make the passthrough not so great. Like I found need to have the room have a lot of room light to work well and sure limit any natural light from outside. So get best results at night or if you can use blinds on the window during the day. Than turn on as many room lights as you can, so toom isn't dimly lit. If room lit good like that I cannot imagine any way seeing the males body being more immersive than your own.

Still was kinna joking about no more males hehe I'm sure there always be some people that want the option. Also really excited about what you mentioned that will be able to see your hands in front of girl in future, which will increase immersion even further.

Needs some definite work. And no way would I like this unless it has a toggle ability. Like the ability to turn it off and on. For the very reasons you mention about the male performer but also as you see in the video, its like when you use your own personal vr headset.. your skin usually looks way way darker or whatever than her. Like off, its distracting. So its easier to just not wanna see it.

And yeah, I usually prefer night time with a dim light room personally... or I would say I prefer a dimmer lit room to a brighter cause you have more control IMO. This because its easier to get the model lighting right. I drop the contrast down pretty low, sometimes to 0 and then put the brightness low too, like 30-50, and then add 10-20 to hue so color comes back. Can make things look straight real and mimic the lighting and contrast levels in your room if you take a second to tweak it.
