  • All Swallowbay full videos coming to SLR with Passthrough

xeddin1 I think regular scenes will do much better than a PMV compilation. The speed changing and moaning sounds that don't seem to be matched to what's going on on screen are probably only clicking with a niche audience.

      I'm not sure if it's just me or even if it's exclusively these videos, but the DeoVR app (at least) on Quest 2 seems to run into problems with these videos (if not exclusively these videos, then at a higher rate than other studios).

      I've seen what seem to be two behaviors:

      1) The video opens in the player (either direct click from a menu / list view) or after advancing to "next" from a previous video. In this case, nothing happens in terms of video -- the name / metadata all reflect the swallowbay video/compilation content scene, but the video/audio/play progress never actually initialize. The prior frame that was in place from the video you just left (if moving from other video with "next") remains frozen but the play menus reflect the swallowbay video.

      2) The whole app just crashes.

      It doesn't happen with surrounding videos (and you can "advance to next" past the video and all the rest play fine). It also is reliable in that once it occurs it is repeatable -- you can leave, watch another video, return, and the issue is identical.

      Not sure if SLR re-encodes the videos or if they use the uploaded one and there is perhaps something DeoVR doesn't like -- but anecdotally at least it seems to be related to these videos so figured I'd mention it in case it wasn't just me.

        Interesting. I have never heard that occurring before. The majority of people in my beta testing group have quest 2 and view all the videos fine on DeoVR.

          Update.
          Due to how automatic rev share works on SLR, there is no way for me to avoid videos being labeled as compilation. Scenes will just be published under Swallowbays channel

            I will be able to do any scene except for the latest 10. So Danae will be a while

              Is it possible to make the new videos the same exact length as the originals, so existing funscripts still work? ie adding your logo as a watermark over the original instead of extending the intro. I would have enjoyed the Kenna James scene but I already have the original with a script that doesn't work with the PT version.

              In terms of scene popularity, I guess you'll always suffer when you intersect two niches in a Venn diagram - you need fans of passthrough who are also fans of BJ-only scenes. I happen to fall into that double niche but it's probably 10% of users. Then, there's also the fact that BJ fans probably already have the originals, especially those scenes that were previously published on SLR.

              I would try a newer scene with an in-demand model to see if that helps. It's a shame all the latest scenes have swings!

                Latest 10 scenes will not be released.
                I have about 4-5 others that are completed that are not the exact same length. I will not remake those.

                For future scenes I will leave them 100% as is with no additional watermark so that older scripts can work.

                    @xeddin1 I'm not trying to rain on your parade and maybe it has nothing to do with you, but.
                    How is SLR allowing a studio to put up videos for a couple of years, get all the money they can for it and then take them down. Just to turn around a couple of years later to put them back up in the new section to get all the money again.
                    If SLR allows this then every single studio SHOULD do this.

                      I am happy and hope we get more of these full scenes. No offense but the passthrough versions weren't great because red background, the red glow around the girl kinna ruins it and if try to use chromakey to try tweak it you cant remove the male. slr ai passthrough on original videos is better result on them I think.

                        xeddin1 I won't complain because Swallowbay has really great content. Thank you for bringing it back.

                        That being said, i can see how it could set a bad precedent for other studios to try the same tactic.

                        I think people are getting defensive because we have some popular studios trying janky workarounds like holding back 5-10 mins of content from a scene so they can release an "extended" version as if it's new content a few weeks later or try to stitch 5-10 mins of hidden content from multiple scenes together and release it as if it's a new scene(not a compilation).

                          xeddin1 I don't watch SB scenes so for me it doesn't matter if they are here or not.
                          I only think it sets a bad precedent for SLR to allow them to be put back on the server as a NEW scene.
                          If I owned a VR porn company then I would take note. I would take down all my older videos then wait a year and re-add them as new again. Double the money.
                          I would hope that SLR wouldn't want this to become a thing.

                          VRP took down videos from years ago and them they added them back. They didn't start popping up on the new page. There was a list in the forum with all the added back videos.
