I thought you did a good job with the story on your first scene and it was all pretty well shot. The actresses weren't my type so i didn't watch for too long, but what i did see looked good. Also i really liked a few of your SB compilations

xeddin1 I really wish to see more of your regular scenes like the pornoverse one. The direction kept it pretty interesting along with models being super active throughout it. The tiny room somehow made it more believable.
Granted there were a few technical hiccups. But certainly something which can be fixed by you since it was your first regular shoot.

I liked Pornoverse and Kai Lep both better than any scenes I have seen from John Strong.
I can't watch Strong videos. The camera is a little too far away for me. He's into big cocks and ass licking and slapping and just all around looks like 2D porn made into VR.
John Strong makes porn just like Alex Mack did. They are the exact same things so I figure that means he will stay around and the new creative guys will not.
It's funny because the CEO around here says he is always pushing for new things and to try new things when it comes to shooting porn. But then he doesn't do it.
rerun119 Agree on the Kai Lep and Xeddin directed scenes. They've brought in a new dynamic that has worked well with the constant stimulation and storyline. Certainly some rough edges, but these can be fixed.
Wasn't SLR looking for exactly this? New directors who add to the varying tastes of people.
rerun119 you mention things you don’t like about his directing. But those ARE rare in VR, so wdymean nothing new, the non-POV stuff he does is also unique
Sure I don’t like it either just like you but this is backwards logic, the 2D to VR statement makes no sense either as 2D has anything you can think of, and most of it is not with slapping/rimming, not even close.
adinihsan I'm not trying to start an argument. Just wondering what you would say are the differences between 2d and VR other an VR being in POV, even some 2d can be POV.
For me the difference is how the porn looks. And maybe this is just me but what I like so much about VR is that it can seem real in the moment. So that means the story can feel like something that could happen to me. A big one is that the acting feels real and not like porn stars fucking for a video.
Strong's stories are the most typical 2d or any porn stories there are. Zero different than hundreds of other 2d porn with the same 2d acting in it. I could just watch a FLAT 2D film in POV and get the same story and acting.
Plus the shots are all the same. Same house as Nash, same starting couch, same bedroom, same order of positions. All the same only the camera is too far away for me compared to Nash.
Big dicks are all over Porn in general. Naughty America only shoots giant dicks if that is what somebody is into. I think that is where Mack came from and that seems to be all he knew.
The new directors had different stories than anything SLR has done before. They had different houses, different ways of telling the story, different angles.
Maybe the thing is that Strongs videos feel like he says now we need 2 minutes of slapping, now we need 2 minutes of ball licking. It feels like porn which for me means it's not immersive because it don't feel real at all.
NON-POV I could care less about but it's not that rare. It might not be the majority of scenes but there are thousands of them.
rerun119 as I said, not a big fan either. Still he’s bringing stuff to VR that is rarely seen. Have you checked his scene of Rebel Rhyder? Might not be your taste just as it isn’t mine, but saying he doesn’t try anything new just doesn’t make sense to me.
Regarding 2D -> VR, my point was that absolutely everything has been done in 2D, it seems unfair to expect stuff that isn’t seen in 2D. I don’t thing 2D POV compares to VR either
@xeddin1 I had a quick look through the thread and didn't see anyone asking this before (maybe missed it), but is there a reason the highest quality option on the regular (non PT) Swallowbay scenes is 6K? On their own site e.g. the Casey Calvert scene has an 8K option. Is this an upscale and the master/original is 6K, or does SLR only get the 6K to incentivize people to subscribe to swallowbay.com directly? Or are the non-PT scenes not your responsibility?
xeddin1 Thanks, that would be awesome of you! Getting HBR 8K would be great, as long as they are not upscaled. That said, what resolution are the masters that you use for your PT edits? It seems for at least some of them (e.g. the Alexia Anders BJ only scene), the highest res available on Swallowbay is 6K, while all of yours are 8K.
