vrpicasso I personally find it highly distracting when an actor's dick is too different from mine (shape/size/color/hair/(un)circumsized/whatever), I just can't get trick my brain into thinking that that's my dick that I'm seeing. Not sure if I'm alone here or others feel like that too at times, but sometimes I find it quite distracting and immersion breaking.

On the other hand, in those PT AI clips where the actor has his dick quite still and the girl is just riding it and the AI has the actor's dick filtered out, it sometimes really looks and feels like my own dick is sliding into the girl. I agree, most of the times this doesnt work well, because the actor's dick just is moving too much and then it's also immersion breaking when you just see the world around you through the actor's dick. But when it does work, it's just really so awesome. And I strongly believe that the best way to get this right is with a male torso. But anyway, it's a bit related but also a bit offtopic to this thread here 🙂

    Manny_S Thanks for writing this. I don't watch PT but I felt like people didn't understand what must be going on behind the scenes.
    I do have a question about the camera. Was the Simsense scenes shot with the modified camera?

    If this camera causes so much headache why do you guys use it in the first place? A couple of the other big studios don't use it for all of the reasons you mentioned. I have hated the existence of this camera from day one. It set VR porn back by a couple of years in the giant land. It is still ruining some other studios year after year. Is it really just so you can say that you film in 8K? Is there no other 8k cameras? Why not shoot PT with the old camera? I wish you would go back to the old camera for all of your scenes. It still looks better than the newest stuff you guys put out.

        Unfortunately it takes time when new scenes are rolled out but I hope with each update there will be small improvement.

          I suppose firstly, do you use a Quest 3 to watch your own AR scenes and VR porn in general? Because anything we say is just going to be obvious when you put on a Q3 and try your own content. Attempting to make VR/AR porn if you don't consume it yourself would be like a vegetarian trying to become a world class barbecue chef without tasting the meat.

          In a way, I'm glad the EU casting has not been to my taste because the technical side is not yet where it should be. I wouldn't want you to cast a goddess and then the scene sucks. Perhaps EU passthrough casting should be another whole thread? The issues here are too fundamental for us to get sidetracked into back and forth about perfect boob sizes etc 😆

            rerun119 The canon cam has caused A LOT of trouble and that sucked. However, that doesn't mean we need to regress though. Just look at something like the latest Deep in sex scenes like https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/hazel-heart-will-win-your-46508?t=676. This is good quality and proper scale. Then you have VR bangers with video quality even far surpassing that. Why in the hell would we want to regress back to an ancient cam?

SLR used to be top of the game, VRBangers now seems to have gotten close or even passed SLR sometimes. Too bad they removed the download button, but that's a whole different discussion.

                    harigeharry Yeah, fuck them for that, not gonna support them anymore. Still, their image quality is just unrivaled at the moment. It always surprises me how much better it is after not having seen it for a while. Does have some weird stuff sometimes though but that might just be camera placement, dunno, don't watch a lot of their content.                       fenderwq How do you know that Deepinsex and VRBangers use the same camera as SLR? I feel like Deepinsex scenes look bigger since they went to the 8k camera. I liked the older scenes scaling better.
                      Even if those studios are using the same camera that doesn't mean that SLR look the same. Look at VRHush and Fuckpass those 2 studios put out giantland videos for years now because of 8k.
                      If SLR can make the scaling and colors look great then of course keep the camera but how long do you want them to take to figure out how to do it? It's been years now.
                      If the picture looks great but it looks like everything is distorted and too big then I could care less that the image looks nice.
                      Plus Manny already said that you can't fix the scaling with PT so what is the point in using it?

                          rerun119 your missing the point. I'm saying that it is definitely possible to get both 8k and good scale nowadays. Not that they must stick with the Canon.

                            I've always thought that Quest 3 passthrough was not that accurate in terms of real life scale and distance perception. I put a tape measure in front of me and compared real life and passthrough scale / distance, by peering at the tape measure in the gap under the headset compared to with passthrough.

                            From this simple test, it looks like the tape measure in PT on Quest 3 appears to be around 10% smaller than real life because it appears to be further from my eyes. So the scale of objects in PT looks accurate to real life but as they appear further away this massively impacts how models appear in PT.

                            Is this the same for everyone else?

                            If I play the latest AR scene, with passthrough off it's like most other VR scenes, with fairly good scale and distance. With PT on, the guy's dick is suddenly way too close (because my body is further away than real life in PT) - when you adjust distance the model shrinks and then you have to adjust scale and the distortion kicks in etc.

                            Is passthrough this inaccurate for you guys? I use prescription lens inserts, which may be a factor.

                              vrpicasso I noticed it depends on how far an object is from the camera/quest. As in the closer it is the worse the scale is off. Quest is continuously updating their depth correction algorithms though. If you quickly put on and off the quest and look at your room it's pretty much 1:1 for me. Pretty much everything that is further out than a meter is nearly perfect scale.
