  • Downloads plan revamp

Streaming rarely works well for me. It's glitchy and quality almost always suffers.

I may have missed this, but is anyone talking about just eliminating the 'full resolution' versions? Some of these files are over 80GB. So if bandwidth is a problem, start there.

I don't think bandwidth is the problem. This is their way of trying to deter piracy and folks from hit and runs so to speak. As in signing up for a monthly sub once or twice per year, downloading everything they can and leaving. I can understand SLR's reasoning, I just hope this doesn't also screw over honest subscribers like me who are limited to downloading only.

When VRB completely removed the option to download I was pretty sure changes would be coming here as well so this announcement did not surprise me. What is surprising to me though is the extent of the new restrictions, a 75% reduction in downloads is pretty severe imho.

    Hello,

Did you read my last post in this topic? I didn't see any replies from you. What do you think about my suggestions? I give it, free of royalties 😃

Why do you insist to give more downloads to users that use some features (10m streaming, PT, sex toys) completely unrelated to the problem you try to fix ? Why don't you just KISS (keep it simple stupid) like I propose?

This is a good question and I would like to know why too.

slrp007 it's all in this thread

We give options, it's up to users to decide

doublevr Can you please clarify how many monthly downloads I will be allowed should I choose to renew my annual subscription? Will my downloads drop from the current 150 down to 40 per month? Thanks!

Hey @doublevr! Will these new limits apply to vids we upload to SLR Drive as well? Or just the regular public releases?

      Thanks!

The download restrictions make sense in terms of bandwidth and consumption.

I've purchased years of SLR subs and lifetime scripts, yet I can only download 3+3 monthly scripts. Trying to get more people streaming makes sense, but how is lifetime scripts only worth 3+3 script downloads?

mieldesalazar1987 I don't think we can provide more scripts downloads outside of pay per script option.

With SLR Miles High Club loyal customers should be getting extra.

Thank you for your communication on this. I'm probably one of the people you don't like as I signed up a few months ago and have downloaded pretty heavily since then. I am downloading because I signed up after getting an Apple Vision Pro and have to use that device. Downloading is really the only good user experience right now. I know you guys have been working on a WebXR solution, but it just isn't great yet, and no DeoVR app available either.

I really hope you guys keep working on getting SLR to be usable on a Vision Pro since frankly, I don't want to download the videos either. But here we are.

80GB isn't huge these days - why would you want to reduce the quality when VR relies on having the highest quality possible for the best immersion?

starboi downloads are perfectly fine as long as you keep the sub going 👍

Can't wait to get AVP app up and running. That would be a gamechanger

SchnuppiLilac Do they have the same variety of content, for those lower prices...? Not having anything to compare against.

rerun119 it's an iOS-based app that will be released for Apple Vision Pro devices. Currently in works, we're excited about getting it up and running
