Stalinator could you also please remind me if this happens while you have PowerBlow connected as well and Keon disconnects when the app crashes ,correct?
App release 13.19 (VR Cams toys menu, thumbnail progress bar)
Hi guys, just FYI we have released Steam version. Sorry for a delay!
Still menu tilted and no Quest controllers but WMR
Kieshi
Yep correct... No real problem because the DeoVR streaming app on the Quest is working ok but i believe the Steam version gives a slightly better quality/performance. Not being able to use the Quest controller is the biggest issue for me because i can't use the joystick for zooming and fast forward.
Kieshi Either way, up until like a week ago I never used the PowerBlow so it was happening without ever since you all enabled direct BT connection to the Quest.
The most recent time of 55-60 min I gave was with the PowerBlow. There was another person with the same issue and I believe he also was using the PowerBlow. So suffice to say, at least it would seem anecdotally it's not related to that accessory.
I've also tried disconnecting/reconnecting after like 30 minutes or so to see if that 'reset' the timer so to speak, and that was also no.
RE: frki1644
@Kieshi is there any news on either of the above issues?
- Local files restart from beginning (no progress is saved)
- The newly added watch progress bar under video thumbnail in Quest 2 view in DeoVR only shows up on very recently watched videos. Older views that still have watch progress don't show bar underneath. But when you start playing video it knows to seek forward to begin at the last viewed point -- it's just not reflected in the card view. It seems to only show the bar below videos for recent views -- i'm not sure if it's only views since the app was released or what, but for some definition of "not recent" (X days, not since app release, etc?).
- Edited
frki1644 Ok, I will check with the team.
Just to clarify, when you say "older videos" do not have progress bar on the thumbnail, how long ago have you watched these videos, do you maybe have approximate understanding of how many days have past since the progress bar stopped appearing? Could it be a week or a month or are we speaking about few days?
Also, does the progress bar appear on web, if you check the same video?
Kieshi Thanks!
Yes, the more I look, the more the window in which play progress bars appear seem to be extremely limited -- as in a matter of single digit days.
For example, if I go to home page and filter by "most recent", beginning at videos about 4 days old, the view progress progress bars below video thumbnails begin to disappear (despite being watched).
I was able to verify this by going back to page 4 and half way down that page they stop showing up (same verified in headset, though a different page number since different number of items per page).

Then, when making no other changes, if i go to headset and do the following on the two videos in the bottom-left of the above image (randomly chose those two to demonstrate on):
- Click on video in headset to "resume" watching. Even in headset, no progress bar appears below video.
- Video automatically starts at last watch point (90% into video)
- Let play for 1-2 seconds
- Exit
If i come back to desktop and refresh the above page, THEN the progress bar shows only below those two particular videos.

Importantly, the system knew correctly the place to resume playback and captured it after it was JUST watched, but it did not correctly show the progress bar despite knowing where to resume within the video until it was (freshly) interacted with.
For the feature to be useful (to me), it'd have to apply to all videos and all watches back to at least the launch of the feature, but ideally back to the beginning of time. If it only captures the VERY VERY recent views, it's not very useful to me.
Hope that helps. Having that visual indication of a previously watched video is one of the improvements I've most been waiting for, so happy to reproduce anything needed if more information is required.
