I always disable it since it seems impossible to have 6DoF the way I like it. I want to be able to position a video without 6DoF, like +12 Pitch, 0.8% zoom etc, and then turn it on with that setting as the baseline. However, whenever I turn it on, it just does whatever it wants. For example, I can't tweak the speed since it keeps resetting for some reason, and whenever I hit recenter, it doesn't recenter to 0 or the settings that I want. It's just too chaotic. Am I doing something wrong? I want to be able to use the recenter button while using 6DoF, so that it resets +12 Pitch, 0.8% zoom etc but without toggling 6DoF off. Is that possible?
How do you properly set up 6DoF on DeoVR?
Yeah it's terrible the current way its' implemented. I keep it off too. There;s no way to do what you're asking. Turning it on basically disables all the other options like zoom, pitch etc and you have to watch it as is.

If your talking about in pt, you gotta turn the overide 6dof switch off in pt settings.
Only way I use it is
First turn off the override in pt
Then turn on 6dof
Put the slider to about a 100 or choose what u like
Then when I'm in laying down positions and have a model on top of me, do a sit up, lean forward and press and hold menu to recenter the model, you can look left or right and use recenter to position her where ever u want but most like itll be over your lap area, ok...then once u do that lay back down and you'll zoom out while she stays in place.
I know I know kinda of lot but thats how it works until they add zooming and dome rotation available while 6dof is on.
I only use it like if the cam is to up close during a laying cg rcg.

But just keep messing with it, you'll get the hang of it.
Turn off the over ride in the pt
And hold menu button to position the models.
Example
You standing with a model standing in front of you, you hold menu to reposition her and when you move you'll move away from her, also adjust the zpom slider to where you like it helps too, you gotta mess around with it till u get the hang of it.
Tilt works with 6dof on if you map "pitch" to your thumb stick.
Vrsumo2017 yeah i dont even understand why this override option is default in pt. im literly in the same process as you trying to figure it out haha, and the default setting is 2.0? who tf uses that XD. imo default should be 0.80/1.00 orso
6DoF is definitely minimum viable product at this time at best. Nothing has improved since 6 months Still default setting is 2.0 even though it should be about 1.00. So confusing why they use override option and why it keeps resetting your pitch, zoom, tilt etc.
I don't understand why SLR is bringing up new features (FOV control instead of functional zoom) even though old ones like 6DoF are still forgotten.
Two months have passed since last "promise". We just got App release 14.3 and no improvements. I don't know what your improvement even means and makes better: "6DOF override now switches on 6DOF"? It is still minimum viable product and it keeps resetting your pitch, zoom, tilt etc when used.
Could you please tell us users what are your plans to improve this feature and when? It is frustrating to beg and see how little you care about your product 6DoF is really nice feature providing it is working correctly. For me it is probably most expected thing after SLR drive.
Ditch the override option (it is only confusing) and make it work that when you activate 6DoF it will remember correct setting (default value should be 1) and do not override pitch, zoom, tilt etc values. Should not be that hard to do.

If 6DOF would let you change the setting to get everything where you want it and then turn on 6DOF. That would work great but it doesn't. It changes everything back to zero and then turns on the affect.
One of the biggest advantages Heresphere has over DEO is that 6DOF works great. It's always on working. Plus you can change setting with it on.
BTW since the latest update if you have 6DOF on and hit the recenter button it freezes the screen. On steam version. So now you have to remember to turn it off before you can recenter.
rerun119 Exactly. Sometimes I just use Heresphere to remember how good working 6DOF really is. If you think about immersion, naturally object should stay precisely on the same sport and grow bigger if you move forward = 6DOF. View without 6DOF moves just a little bit and seems good only if you haven't seen the proper working 6DOF.
Unfortunately I can't use Heresphere because I have build huge BYOJ-library and only DeoVR can play that It is good player but sometimes lack some features.
