All the settings will be saved to your SLR account, no more storing things locally. Also for local files.
No exact timeline, but things are going that way. Probably July/Aug

What is the motivation behind this?
Most to all users likely have 1 device they use that'll last them 2+ years with each generation upgrade. Doesn't seem to require a cloud storage for settings.
In addition, mandatory cloud storage sounds very unattractive. Giving users options is best to cater to those that need vs those that don't want cloud storage (I imagine it isn't free).
There may be better output from the development team for features that users really want.
I don't care if all the settings are saved locally or into cloud. Normal user like me does not even know how this thing works. Outcome matters and if it works it's fine.
But I am confused why sound volume or colour profile is not saved? Some videos are loud and others so quiet. It is frustrating to adjust volume between those extremes. Same goes to colour profile. I prefer adobe RGB using my Quest 3, but some videos look better using different profiles. For me it should be obvious to save those settings as well.
Do we get some improvement to further DEO VR updates?

Meaning that for local files, an account at deovr.com (or, unofficially, SLR or JillVR) will be mandatory to be able to save settings from the DeoVR app?
SchnuppiLilac Hopefully not but, it seems like from my experience (one PC died) using it on another the settings just work even without an account... as DeoVR, SLR, and JillVR are all separate accounts... at least in 'theory' they share no data, so all that data mismatching between (for local files) would cause a bunch more issues.
