If you look at SLR Drive without consideration of the AI features...yeah, SMB, DLNA, PCVR, etc probably makes more sense. However, at least IMHO, the killer features of SLR Drive will be the generation of AI scripts and AI passthrough for any uploaded video. I don't think this is something that can be done at home currently. Educate me if I'm wrong.
doublevr I was wondering where the heresphere statement went, but I see you added it to the main post. Do you think there is a possiblity that we could stream not only SLR Drive files, but also the SLR Library using HereSphere? I would really like to be able to use HereSphere to browse SLR.
@doublevr Any updates or a timeline on SLR drive with AI features? Looking forward to giving some of my videos the SLR AI script and passthrough treatment. Would LOVE to finally be able to generate AI scripts and passthrough for my favorite non SLR scenes and SLR drive seems awesome for that. Btw, will there be a limit on the AI features and also what kind of storage and prices are we talking about ballpark?

AI passthrough on 2D is not available and, well, not particularly useful.
As far as I've seen, there's no AI script model for 2D/flat currently on SLR.
What does that leave? Cloud storage for 2D?

Real game changer ! I am ready to beta test that, let me know so far you need feedback from software developer professional. Challenge will be upload speed, many users do not realise how slow upload connection they have. There is cheap trick for that: Calculate checksum locally and transfer only checksum, file may be already known to SLR Drive, you do not need storage same file tousand of times 
and upload will looks like go speed of light , of course you display it as private file, you just used kind of compression method.

davexingde You bring up a good point. Having it downloaded only once is the only why I can see this working. Otherwise they might as well start downloading every scene from every studio and AI scripting and AI pt them.
Once this is going every good scene from all the other studios and going to be uploaded multiple times. Even if SLR only does everything once. They still are going to need to script and PT them.
Ten times what they do now. It will take them years to do all the old scene unless they get 10 times the computers.

rerun119 Good point, considering apply AI powered Passthroung and Script for different users uploading same video it will compute the same results consuming enourmous energy and computing power to get same result. Please save the planet and use caching / checksums! Same file does not need to be saved and processed multiple time for each user requesting it.
Hairsational Not at all. If chucks of data are identical you can compress it by saving it once and making reference to that. If doubt, than not whole files, but chuck of f.e.10 MB could be saved. Thats normal for every enterprise drive storage, otherwise you will need enoumous amount of harddrives and energy to save same things multiple times. Google, Microsoft, Apple etc. know that.
