  • SLR Drive in the making: Upload, Stream in Deo, get AIScripts and Passthrough

Glad to see this is making some progress

Will DeoVR/Drive support playback from VR private cam recordings when uploaded? They are "pincushion distortion square video" shape and need a certain kind of setting to play without distortion - Fish eye doesn't work as it's round

Haven't found a media player that can play those properly, Moon Player only offers fish eye

doublevr changed the title to SLR Drive in the making: Upload, Stream in Deo, get AIScripts and Passthrough .

I'm guessing because this is a private thing, we will be able to upload files from other studios and it will be fine?
    Thats amazing.
The only issue would be space than. Well I am very happy to test it out when its ready.

lukcybro87 I'm guessing because this is a private thing, we will be able to upload files from other studios and it will be fine?

I think that's the entire point of the feature. It could allow SLR to get content of other sites that don't want to join SLR.

I guess we wont know how it will be until we try it.
That being said, some of these scenes get pretty large.
Anywhere between 10 GB to 30 GB As the largest i'v seen. In practically, from certain sites you could download and upload a lower size scene and it will be fine .

But large stuff like let say JAV scenes, where you might have 3-4 files that might equal 30 gb will take a long time to upload.
Also some peoples ISP upload bandwith sucks...which will add to it.

It will be interesting to see what number SLR provides us a base size limitation.

doublevr keep up the good work ! you guys are creating the next gen porn standards 🙂

lukcybro87 good point, you better have a fiber optics connection with equal down/up speeds or spend days uploading. I don't think lower quality video is acceptable for most

Would generating AI passthrough alpha layers for 3rd party scenes and allowing users to download them break copyright laws? If not, it would be more convenient and efficient than each individual user generating their own

I worry the time/cost of cloud hosting/bandwidth/storage for the large files won't be something I'd pay any extra for. Is there any plan to allow adding storage on a local network instead of cloud? I use the SMB via Skybox today, but SMB option in DeoVR would be nice -- or the personal library extension with the metadata in the cloud but the large video files themselves could be sourced/streamed from local network storage instead.

frki1644 Isn't that what DLNA is for...? Or is DLNA something different?
Can't you already use a network attached storage (NAS) to stream that?
Since I think a NAS can be streamed from, it should already be possible to SLR Drive from your own remote storage... assuming enough streaming bandwidth or proper video encoding.

If you look at SLR Drive without consideration of the AI features...yeah, SMB, DLNA, PCVR, etc probably makes more sense. However, at least IMHO, the killer features of SLR Drive will be the generation of AI scripts and AI passthrough for any uploaded video. I don't think this is something that can be done at home currently. Educate me if I'm wrong.

doublevr I was wondering where the heresphere statement went, but I see you added it to the main post. Do you think there is a possiblity that we could stream not only SLR Drive files, but also the SLR Library using HereSphere? I would really like to be able to use HereSphere to browse SLR.

@doublevr Any updates or a timeline on SLR drive with AI features? Looking forward to giving some of my videos the SLR AI script and passthrough treatment. Would LOVE to finally be able to generate AI scripts and passthrough for my favorite non SLR scenes and SLR drive seems awesome for that. Btw, will there be a limit on the AI features and also what kind of storage and prices are we talking about ballpark?

Super curious on this as well, if there's an update on the timeline for SLR Drive with AI script support.
Could be the hottest new feature of the year!
