Wendigo I also find it very presumptuous that if you don't like PT then you must has not been able to see it.
I had a Pimax 8kx (hands down way better than Quest 3, the FOV is unmatchable) before it broke. I couldn't watch PT so it was a complete waste of scenes for me. After the Pimax broke I got the old Quest 2 out and was excited to try PT because of some people saying how great it is. Then I bought a Quest 3 ( waiting on Pimax 12kx, fingers crossed that it does come out)

My conclusion is that it is ok, I don't love it like a really good Nash scene.
Since so many people make assumptions about PT, I'm going to assume that people that like it so much are young guys that haven't really had very many girls walk into their bedroom IRL. If you haven't had sex or a lot of sex in your own bed then PT might really be amazing to you. I'm no sex god but watching the same thing over and over in my bedroom get pretty boring really quick.

    Also since the directors have complete control of the scenes and Nash hasn't been on here in months. Does any of this change anything?

    trooowiii I think shooting with AR in mind will improve both AR and VR if AI passthrough sticks around. The finer details need to be perfected with AR, which I believe will translate over well to VR.

    Only if there is a feedback loop and directors or editors are trying to improve their work, which doesn't seem to be the case right now for any studio.

      Despite what some people say, I think Simsense has essentially nailed passthrough, casting, positions, camera placement, image quality and most importantly, scale. I don't get why people keep asking for more doggy regardless of whether the actress has a big ass or not

      Other studios still have a long way before they make enjoyable passthrough, so I think SLRO should just focus on either making an exact studio like Simsense or increasing Simsense's output. One upload a week isn't enough. In the meantime, adding a cheaper subscription that only includes SLRO content would also be nice, specially since there's no student discount anymore. It's too expensive to pay $20 a month when all I'm watching are the 4 monthly PT scenes, so I keep unsubbing and resubbing

        trooowiii It was mostly to make a point. I have read multiple times that if you don't like PT then you must have not tried it on a good headset. I have seen many times people say "sorry that you are cheap and can't afford a Quest 3 to really see how good PT is" These are huge assumptions, It can't be that I just don't like it as much.
        So I figure there must be some reason these people like seeing the same thing over and over in their bed that they love so much and I don't.

          trooowiii One thing that will make regular better if they think about PT at the same time is the scaling. So many scenes the girls and everything in it is huge. I can't understand how people can watch giants in their headsets. Maybe they don't notice like I do. When you turn on PT it's like a 7ft tall 250 lb person crawling on top of you. This plagues half of all the studios on here.
          That would be great if they had to fix scale. Other than that the scenes could be the same as always couldn't they be. With AI PT that is. As long as they get the distance and scale and the guy in the middle of the shot.

            tmynx I personally prefer VR, but I certainly don't think PT is complete trash or that it shouldn't exist. My main issue is the volume of PT scenes SLR currently puts out, especially while its still in the early stages. Considering these factors along with the data regarding PT vs. VR users, it should be about 1/3 of the content, but since SLR has a stranglehold on PT, it's been more like half recently, which in my opinion, is a little too much.

              This is exactly why passthrough WONT get any better - at least not anytime soon. You can standardize a camera position, distance, lighting, and scaling - and you still have no idea in what environment the end-user will watch it. The model has to match endless user variables, or it isn't immersive. That's why it is easier to just shoot VR, since it replaces the whole field of vision. In that case, models need only be positioned, lit, and, and scaled so they match the existing room, not the infinite passthrough rooms. That isn't something that's going to get better until the headset can auto-scan your room for dimensions, position, and lighting and feed that information to the player which scales and adjusts the output in real time. That's way in the future, considering we still cant get them to stop cutting models heads off in cowgirl after almost 8 years of practice now. I'm always surprised by how confident people are that AR is going to get SO MUCH BETTER when studios haven't consistently mastered VR yet - which is much easier.

                lolitovtb He was shooting for other sites so that might have had something to do with it. Otherwise I have no idea. To me he was the worst but each to their own 🤷‍♂️

It's the main thing that puts me off. i'm fine adjusting scale and position in both AR and VR, and have no problems adjusting on the fly. Giant women and odd angles don't bother me in VR at all, i just see it as a close up, but the same adjustments in AR seems much more disconcerting to me.

                  i think the main issue, for me, is that every movement of the head is translated into the model moving against the background in AR, whereas in VR the model is constantly fixed against the background, so she doesn't move around in relation to it. i think that might be the crunch point in my head for immersion. Weird that i can take giant women, but not floaty ones, go figure.

                  On the odd occasion where i've dipped my toe i do find it fascinating, and would love to experience it more when the technology itself can self compensate for my issues. i'm a little bit behind the learning curve, so could someone please explain to me if "Full 6DoF" is gonna fix it? i assume this is where both the model is 'fixed' positionally in relation to the external environment? i know SLR is apparently working on it, does anyone know how close this solution is to fruition?

                  Also, like everyone else, i think having the SasyQVR peeps and similar doing some PT would look awesome, not having any dick at all would of course completely negate the floaty dick bit that puts me off. More AR strippers please... xD

                    We all differ and I'm in the opposite boat. For example the floating dick doesn't bother me at all. I vastly prefer that than the AR porn where the entire male actor is visible. I can't stand that and frankly don't see the point in AR then.

                    That said wrong scaling and wrong distance in either VR or AR is a complete buzz kill for ne. Thankfully these days scale can sometimes be dialed in but wrong distances - especially too close can't as I can't zoom out and 'create' something that wasn't in the shoot to begin with. Zooming in is easier although like zooming out it will distort the image eventually.

                      That is not even remotely true. I just have an issue with it being half of the content releases. If you were on an all PT site for a long term sub and they implemented something you didnt sign up and cut you releases in half wouldnt you be annoyed?

                          Some people here said that SLR stopped working with Simsense recently and they only have one scene left, so I guess we're back to 0 quality AR content. I'll just pause my sub until SLR manages to find a similar studio for passtrough. AR was basically the only thing I watched since I bought the Quest 3, and according to the AR scenes' likes, I wasn't the only one

                          I find it a lot easier to position AR content exactly where I want to btw. Seeing your surroundings and your own body makes tweaking the scale and position extremely easy

                              <Pokes head into thread...> Hasn't the VR vs AR thing been done to death yet? I recall making a fairly long post about it myself a few days back. It's very clear that PT isn't going away, but it seems equally clear (at least for now) that PT will not become the default on SLR. Probably AI PT will sort it out, by making it redundant to have to shoot specifically PT content at all and let you turn any scene into a PT scene. IMHO the technology has a long way to go yet. I get the frustration from both sides of the debate. I just don't think we're going to resolve it here on the forums no matter how much we debate it.

                              On the original topic of the thread: I voted for 'talent', because I think that's the key to keeping people interested. I would like SLR to really go all out to book talent that has never done VR, or done some and said 'no thanks' (by showing how things can be done better), or last did VR in the stone age of 1080p, or are not doing studio work (OF models and influencers, 'retired to OF' etc), and finding new talent that has yet to break their VR cherry. Be persuasive (and pick the right SLR staff member/s to do that). Ultimately, exclusivity will win out if you can get performers no-one else can. Absolutely a mix of all types - young, new, experienced, older. Like some other posters I have strong opinions about what does and does not look good, and the fake post-surgery look definitely doesn't do it for me, but I'd rather we get some of everything so that there's something for everyone.

                              Most of that VR content is not exclusive and is available on multiple other sites so SLR Originals is the main drawcard in terms of content.

                                Simsense in now with VRBangers. CzechVR does AR better. VRPorn.com also has their own PT that looks like it's shot by Simsense. Lethal Hardcore has said they are shooting AR right now (though they haven't released yet).

                                I think the likes on AR scenes was reflective of the exclusivity that SLR had on the medium. Can you imagine the number of likes on VR vids if SLRO was the only one doing them? Now that they aren't the only game in town anymore and lost their specialty studio, those numbers will go down, and they shouldn't be devoting half the release schedule to it.

                                      Wendigo I'd very much be interested in the cost differential between shooting a VR vs. an AR scene. Undoubtedly, using the same grey room all the time saves SLR some money, which is another reason I believe SLR is pushing it, but I wonder if the performers are paid different rates given AR seems more challenging...
