  • Enable WebXR on Apple Vision Pro to watch SexLikeReal

Kieshi I’ve triple checked that setting. Still no immersive mode.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to sexlikereal.com
  2. Browse to any video
  3. Hit play

There is no immersive permission dialogue and the video plays in the embedded player on the page.

snapintoaslimjim if you want to enter immersive mode from web player you need to hit the "headset" icon on the bottom right of the player - it will take you to Hub, there is no other option to enter immersive mode

Jjhooke69 I have been hoping that a workaround might be found for Passthrough that didn’t require a PC. Might you walk me through the approach? I tried to find the “passthrough” button on webxr in Safari but couldn’t find it (the closest I could find was a Feature Flag in Advanced Settings for “WebXR AR” and that didn’t seem to do make the background black as you described). Excited about this and would really appreciate the help if possible.

Stirling it only works in pass through videos. So in webxr when you start the video you want, on the top right of the UI bar there will be the pass through icon (eye) tap that and it will make the background black. Then proceed with other steps mentioned before!

Jjhooke69 Brilliant! I have still got a couple of steps to go but I have manages to see enough to see how great this is. I was trying it with old green screen background videos before so no wonder I wasn’t getting anywhere. I bought an SLR subscription and searched for Passthough videos with the “eye” as you said. To play one in Safari, the only way I managed to do it was to start it as a regular 2D like video and then look at the VR glasses icon at the bottom right. After giving permission to launch the VR and track my hands the experience launched (but only the trailer, not the full video). I did manage to follow your steps and get full Passthrough on the trailer however (though it was a bit hit and miss because the trailer was so short). However, - Amazing. Thanks so much for this. Might you walk me through the steps you use to launch the full VR Experience in Safari (I assume they are very different than the convoluted path I took)?

There is no point in looking for the passthrough symbol at the moment, videos are not getting tagged correctly yet.
My alpha passthrough videos are listed as AI on the app, but are listed correctly with just the eye on the website. It's early days with alpha passthrough, but happy to hear you got it working on Apple Vision Pro.

As soon as this is officially implemented I will export all Passthrough videos twice to support HDR on Apple Vision Pro and SDR on Quest.

Jjhooke69 OK, so I managed to get the full videos playing by logging into the “VR” interface rather than the standard website (heck, that interface isn’t really easy to use mind, can’t even copy & paste username/password into it so far as I could see - even with a keyboard). I will use your instructions tonight to see if I can get passthrough working without the menus being in the way!

Couldn’t wait, so called into work sick instead. I can’t make it work consistently yet, but through trial and error (guided by the instructions), I managed to get it working twice. Fantastic.

Jjhooke69 Hmm that doesnt seem to work for me, can't get rid of the control center menu. Can you explain those steps please? What does seem to work is when the control center menu is in my face, I just move a little to the left or right, but if you do that too much everything just resets. But anyway, it's still an interesting workaround

EDIT or ar you talking about the player menu? That I have hidden indeed, but that control menu stays in sight. The only solution I found is to move slightly to get it out of the way.

BTW there's also no way to get the room undimmed right? With this workaround the room is dimmed and didnt find a way around that.

Either way the advantage over the ALVP method is that there's no green line around the model, AND it's actually faster to get it up and running (instead of needing to boot SteamVR etc)

harigeharry I would be interested in Jjhooke69’s insights as well. For me, I cannot get rid of the control center menu either, but rather than moving it left/right, I place it way up on the ceiling (almost vertically above me). I open the control center right in front of me at first but then look up really high when pressing and holding the crown to turn the model solid from opaque. This has the advantage of not moving the model to the left or right - and you can adjust slightly in that direction by looking up but slightly left or right and holding the crown again as many times as you like. The only workaround I have found for the dimmed room is to turn up the lights in the room to compensate a bit. To be fair however, the dimming hasn’t really bothered me much so far.

harigeharry I just experimented a little. You can move the control center menu all the way vertically to the boundary of the 180 degree video (but not beyond it because that seems to stop the video). But when you look down again the menu seems to move slightly - almost beyond the boundary, so its completely unobtrusive.

Stirling Hahaa also really nice find!! That gets the control menu also mostly out of the way. The only downside remains the dimmed room, but I can live with that. Some great team work here!

Hi folks! Just letting you know what all SLR videos are now converses to supported format and are compatible with Apple Vision Pro, so you should be able to stream any video now.

Also please check out this post for todays updates to Hub

Everyone else may already know this, but just in case. Something that’s been adding to my enjoyment of the Passthrough experiences has been using Siri to control the video. I’ve always used Moon Player in the past and because of the ease of bringing up the player controls and moving around, it was never anything I considered before. With the Passthrough workaround, however, it takes quite a bit to get to and from the player controls. The most useful Siri Commands for me have turned out to be:

            “Go Back/Go Forward X Minutes and/or Y seconds”
“Go to the X Minute and/or Y seconds Point”
            “Go Away”

The second one is interesting because by looking at the video on the web interface ahead of time and choosing a few key scene starts/transitions, I can instantly jump to them whenever I like. I just write them down (or actually put them on an iPad in big font) and because its Passthrough I can glance to the side to see the appropriate time to jump to when I want to make that transition.

The Siri sphere stays around for about 30 seconds when you call Siri (to allow for multiple commands) but the third command allows you to get rid of it instantly when appropriate.

This also all works in Moon Player and I like it so much (because its hands free and so easy) that I have also started using it there (but not the second command because without Passthrough I cannot glance at the jump points).

@Jjhooke69 Hey! If you're referring to WebXR, Apple currently does not provide passthrough support in Safari, so that functionality is unavailable at the moment.

On the app side, there are no updates to share for now. Let us know if you have any other questions!

AnaVR Well I definitely would like to know if the team has been looking into why passthrough does work with ALVR? Even though there's a green line around the model, it would be still awesome if the upcoming (?) DeoVR app could do it too.
