  • A Brand New DeoVR App - HYPER in the Making

DeoVR Lead here,

We’re excited to announce the development of our next-generation app, codenamed HYPER! This app represents a significant leap forward, bringing state-of-the-art performance and features.

The new HYPER app is set to launch on Meta Quest with its core functionalities, which include:
• Videos Hub
• VR Player
• PT & PT AI
• Scripts and Scripts AI
• Live cams

Later on we’ll be rolling out a version for Apple Vision Pro. As well as a dedicated Android and iOS native flat videos app.

For a period, both the legacy DeoVR app and HYPER will operate in parallel. This dual operation ensures a smooth transition as we gradually introduce users to HYPER. During this time, new features will primarily be launched on HYPER until we phase out the legacy app.

As we continue developing on the legacy DeoVR app, we have an exciting lineup of features planned, including:
• Drive
• Live Cams PT Release
• AV1 Video Codec Support
• Remote Launch + Full VR Control from Smartphone
• Control My Haptics Integration
• Hub and Settings Redesign
• Enhanced Search Functionality on DeoVR Platform
• Build Your Own Journey (BYOJ) + Universal Configurations
• Local Videos + Streaming Metadata (Including Scripts AI and PT AI)
• Multi-User Support
• VR180 Camera Live Preview
• Voice commands

Let’s make it great! 👍

Wait, what? Are you saying that we're going to be able to have AI scripts and AI PT for our local videos? As in, I download a copy of the latest SLR Original to my harddrive, then open it in Hyper PCVR style (or Virtual Desktop or uploaded to headset storage, etc) and it will play with AI scripts and/or AI PT in effect?

Integration of local files can be a real game changer!
Please add to your hyper backlog:

      • support for bluetooth keyboard / input device
      • remote control over web sockets or similiar
      • voice control

Finally.. acceptance that DeoVR sucks. Hope you can do a better job with v2 because it's annoying being forced to use this app when it doesn't meet many basic expectations of a video player.

DeoVR is great for streaming. I use Heresphere for other sites and I'm thankful for it being the best option, but it is very complex. I want to watch some VR porn without having to learn a bunch of shit. The ease of DeoVR on SLR pairs the best site with an App that simply lets you utilize the sites best attributes.

speaking of HereSphere please look into copying its video drag functionality. It's better than the drag in DeoVR both to adjust and also seems more degrees of freedom

I don't hate DeoVR, but it does feel unresponsive and clunky. The UI for playlists for example is a pain to use.

Any estimates for a release date?

              Can you elaborate on that

...wasn't Deo already in existence, and SLR had to reconfigure it heavily? i'm assuming this is gonna be more than a v2, more of a complete rebuild, with useful functionality baked in rather than tacked on.

Hopefully there's loads of awesome new search functionality, etc, and eventual FunSR1+ integration, i can see SLR wanting to commit far more to an app they designed themselves...

What about a Windows version of HYPER for us PCVR only users?

I suggested that a while back, hs drag images moves slower and smoothly like a camera , deovr drag images moves faster. I debated this and now i would suggest maybe options to pick the speed it moves, hs is great but sometimes I feel it moves to slow, but I really like how it moves. But I agree...do something to the drag image. 👍

Iskalla Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the playlist experience. I'd love to understand more about what feels clunky or unresponsive. Could you describe specific areas where the UI might feel difficult to use or where responsiveness could be improved? Any examples would be great
