I got my AVP and I tried watching SLR.
First impressions:
Great potential to have the best image quality in the current market. Even though videos are only playing at max resolution of 1920, it's very crisp compared to 1920 on a Quest Pro, for example.
To get immersive mode to work, you need to press play on the video while out of the immersive mode. After the video plays, you can then go back into immersive mode, and you will be able to go forwards/backwards. Only thing is, you can't move the camera around, so things don't line up as you would like it to.
Can't wait to see an actual DeoVR app for AVP. Keep up the good work!

PumpedKix hi, thank you for your feedback! We are looking into this issue, working to get it fixed

The thing I noticed about the play/pause button not working in immersive mode is that it will work if the volume is all the way down/muted. If you mute the volume, then hit play the video will start (without sound, obviously). Trying to adjust the volume while the video is playing will adjust the volume but it will also pause the video, and then the play/pause button does not work. Hopefully that's helpful!

We have got 8k demo working on avp in Safari. Figuring out how do we bring it up

Niceeeee!! I'm on Quest 3 now myself, visiting the states in 4 weeks from now, if you guys get this up and running I'll probably pick up an AVP.

Checking in on the state of the world for Vision Pro. Any ETAs on things like better resolution and passthrough?

crankypants working on the resolution right now, testing and checking what we can do to make it better. Will post once we have more news

thurstoneverett Can confirm that this is what is happening. Same on DEOVR's website too. Any ETA on this Play/Pause button issue that is linked to the volume control?

avpOrbust the team is looking into it, not ETA at the moment, will let you know when we have an update

Thanks for the updates - lots of great progress in usability in just a few weeks. But one observation I wanted to toss out for the todo list, the videos (both here and on DEOvr site) suffer from a washed out, blown out, over-bright/undersaturated look to them when viewing in immersive 3D in Safari on AVP. Definitely not anywhere close to the color grading and saturation of the same videos in 2D viewing mode from the same stream, or when downloaded and played back locally with other players on AVP (Reality Player, Moon, etc). I don't see this impact on iOS devices like recent phones, iPads, desktops - only when viewing on AVP in Safari through the updated WebXR player.

bigboppa thank you for the feedback! We are looking into this issue as well, will get back to you once we have an update 🙂

Kieshi can we please get an update on everything going on? There’s a lot of issues but not a lot of communication for when they will be resolved. It’s disappointing to be paying for something suboptimal.

Agreed. I did month to month and I am going to cancel until there are some updates. AVP is the only headset I have and I can't do much unless I want to download every video. I'm sort of paying for no reason right now.

bigboppa yeah I mentioned this earlier in seems like the colorspace is incorrect

Hi guys, we are currently working to make higher quality available (8k) and team is looking into the issue with the play/pause button, I cannot give any ETA right now, as we are still investigating possible solutions for these issues.

Just heard if you forget your pass code in the avp you have to physically take to the apple store so they can reset it. 🤦‍♂️

My experience with it has been terrible. I currently own a Quest Pro and a Quest 2. I tried using the AVP, but I can't watch anything in it, without thinking: “this would be much better in my Quest Pro, with PT enabled”.
AVP's functions are still suboptimal for VR Porn videos. Perhaps in the future this won't be the case anymore, and if so, the image quality and PT quality will undoubtedly surpass the Quest Pro's. However, as of today, I'm returning my AVP.

milky97 damn that sucks G, you'd think a 4 thousand plus $ headset would be way way better then all the headsets, get you a quest 3 since your returning it.
