  • Enable WebXR on Apple Vision Pro to watch SexLikeReal

Agreed. I did month to month and I am going to cancel until there are some updates. AVP is the only headset I have and I can't do much unless I want to download every video. I'm sort of paying for no reason right now.

bigboppa yeah I mentioned this earlier in seems like the colorspace is incorrect

Hi guys, we are currently working to make higher quality available (8k) and team is looking into the issue with the play/pause button, I cannot give any ETA right now, as we are still investigating possible solutions for these issues.

Just heard if you forget your pass code in the avp you have to physically take to the apple store so they can reset it. 🤦‍♂️

My experience with it has been terrible. I currently own a Quest Pro and a Quest 2. I tried using the AVP, but I can't watch anything in it, without thinking: “this would be much better in my Quest Pro, with PT enabled”.
AVP's functions are still suboptimal for VR Porn videos. Perhaps in the future this won't be the case anymore, and if so, the image quality and PT quality will undoubtedly surpass the Quest Pro's. However, as of today, I'm returning my AVP.

milky97 damn that sucks G, you'd think a 4 thousand plus $ headset would be way way better then all the headsets, get you a quest 3 since your returning it.

doublevr avp is far from being vr tool.

Damn that sucks. I'd be mad as hell if I bought the avp and the one thing I really only use for don't even work as good as a gear vr or the quest 🤦‍♂️

I think I discovered a repeatable workaround until this gets fixed properly. Steps:

      1. Play regular video in browser (deny immersive mode)
      2. Make sure you can hear the audio playing
      3. Reload page
      4. Click play and allow Immersive mode, but DENY hand tracking

You’ll still be able to look around and control the playback but it won’t actually track your hands. While still annoying, these steps seem to be working for the few videos I tested it on.

This is what DeoVR said: "We estimate the DeoVR app will be coming to the Vision Pro app store in March 2024. "
      https://deovr.com/blog/80-vr-videos-on-the-apple-vision-pro

I was hoping this would work out, about to buy an AVP but without DeoVR it makes no sense. However this scares me a bit:

"Viewing passthrough content from DeoVR on the Vision Pro is not possible yet. It simply shows a black background, and the video quality can't be changed from the default of 1920p. This is because Apple does not give access to AR. It can not be enabled, even in the settings. However, as soon as they enable it in an update of the Vision Pro OS, it will be enabled automatically for all DeoVR users - there will be no need to release an update. "

Without passthrough all this still makes no sense, no way I'd cough up $3500 for a headset that can't do PT video. And the quality on AVP is still 1080p max??? WTF.

I was kind of expecting/hoping all this would be enabled&fixed quite soon. @doublevr talking about 2-3 years (!!) scares me even more ...

harigeharry AVP would be much more success if they would give up on their ego and collaborate with people who know things. They are going their way establishing Apple concepts in VR spatial.
Some are better than current, some are much worse without reason. Anyway starting a new technological platform is always a challenge even if leveraged by Apple. Now they are going to push things in some 2-3 years what Facebook did in 9. It's the second biggest effort after FB with no 3rd one anywhere near.

Curious what sort of issues the SLR team is running into with the higher quality video and what sort of progress has been made.
I currently work for Unity and I've seen a few discussions now with customers having video playback issues on the AVP and rumor is Apple has even stated that high quality video playback is LESS performant on the AVP than on say an iPad so we have customers asking to be able to tell if their app is being run on AVP vs iPad so they can select lower quality video (because iPad apps can be run directly on AVP)

        This was the last update:

"We estimate the DeoVR app will be coming to the Vision Pro app store in March 2024."

Sounds like it might have been an overly optimistic estimate but there's still at least a couple of weeks to go so let's see.

        7 days later

Hi guys, we keep working on improving the quality and we are onto something here.

These 2 demos should be working in 8K on AVP

Looking into providing link for streaming, so you can check it out directly.

This how it be in the Vision watch vrp?

Lol, he said alexa off, Apple, Tim Cook off off, lol 😆 😂 🤣

He couldn't turn it off! Lol 😆 🤣

        Women's tennis 🎾 lol 😁 😆

Air dropped the wrong video" lol 😆

Can you please restore the links to the downloads for premium? I was able to download and watch these on my vision pro using other apps, but with those links now removed, I can't watch them at all in 3d.

The web views are extremely buggy now as well, even with full settings enabled for safari.

Also I'd love to get the test flight info for deovr, not sure if they gonna share this or not, but I did ask in their forums as well.

As for those demo videos, they cant be played properly in the vision pro, maybe with a link or something it would work.

        Edit:
On my desktop I just grabbed the links to the videos and am pasting it here so I can click them from the vision pro.

        insights.sexlikereal.com/videos/avp/slr_40989_hvc1.mp4

        Another Edit:
These links work, however they don't parse the stereoscopic view and play in the browser, so you can't download them to device either to try with a third party player.

For anyone wondering about seeing videos in passthrough, I’ve found a patchy way to view them for the time being.

Here is what I Was able to figure out

        • Download video, if the video has an alpha Channel or black background even better. Otherwise you might need to run it through any software you can find that removes background. There are plenty of ai tools out there where this is pretty much automated.

        • in my case I used the old slr desktop app in conjunction with ALVR to run SteamVR so all pass through videos automatically show the black background without any post work required. For now and probably the easiest method is to do removal yourself and use moon player on the Vision Pro

        • once you start to play the video use the gaze drop-down that pulls up the small menu for apps, environments, control center and notifications. I recommend you look opposite the direction the main focus will be in the video so the menu isn’t on top of what you’re looking at. What will happen is any black background will go transparent and you’ll start to see your surroundings. From the small test I tried out, any color in the scene will come through and it will look like a normal passthrough video.

there are a few caveats to this

        • you loose the ability to stop, start, or jump around the video while the drop down is active

        • transparency is applied to the entire video, it’s surprisingly not that noticeable but could see if you’re in a bright environment this becomes an issue

        • if the background is black, it does dim your surroundings, this did actually add a nice blend into the pass through but might not be wanted in all scenarios

        • the ALVR method I used does require a bit of setup, you need the TestFlight build for the Vision Pro and use the nightly version of ALVR for desktop along with steam installed. I just so happened to have the old SLR app on my desktop and saw that this no longer has support / updates. There may be a better path here but this is what I had and used along with some tests using moon player on the Vision Pro.

This is all very patchy until we start seeing an actual app or breakthroughs on the WebXR side coming from the SexLikeReal team but does at least give us a pretty good glimpse into what we could see with pass through.
