App 13.12.3 Released (Clear browser history, Comment improvements)
Hi there!
Since previous or so update of DeoVR I'm not able to change settings such as zoom, height and slide, and I still have the same issue in latest update.
Has anyrthing changed in DeoVR preventing me from changing such paramatrers? The rest of them do work... ¿?
Any help or advice?
Thanks a lot!
shinobi1987 You might have to disable 6DOF in the settings on the right side. It was probably enabled by default after an update. When 6DOF is on you cannot zoom etc.
shinobi1987 as mentioned above, you need to disable 6DOF; which is enables by default in PT mode, then you will be able to change those settings
auto focus?
How do you do this
Kris_SLR Added the option to clear the browser history & cache when exiting the app.
Deo is so slow in loading the second video I try to play. It freezes the app for almost a minute everytime. Plus now I can't seem to stream over 2880 without it buffering all the time. I was hoping maybe clearing this would somehow help.
Kieshi For info i've just noticed that the lag for myself is particularly bad when browsing the 'VR Cam Girls' pages, when i select a different page the pointer can lock up for a second or two randomly until the page has fully loaded. This never used to happen though and feels very sporadic and horrible to use.
This doesn't happen so badly on the SLR VR video pages as they load a lot faster.
No idea if other users have the same issue.
However, whatever video i load still has poor frame rate, as someone else said it looks more like 30 fps at a push which just isn't good enough when there are other players out there
I'm on Quest 2 BTW.
Silly-Sausage looks more like 30 fps
DeoVR has an FPS counter that you can activate in the global settings. No idea if what is displayed is reflecting reality but at least you would have some concrete data to work with.
Note that at least in my case (on Q3) the FPS counter displays values during video streaming that are close to what I have set in the 'headset refresh rate' settings. If it's 72 Hz, it will be close to 72 fps. If it's 120 Hz, it will be close to 120 fps.
I have noticed the behaviour that you described for the cam page as well.
Silly-Sausage thank you, we will investigate
SchnuppiLilac Cheers for that regarding the fps counter
Unfortunately it's worse than i thought...
Normal scenes are averaging between 25-30 fps
Passthrough scenes are averaging 20 fps
This is with the refresh rate set at 90 htz
No wonder they are unwatchable when streaming on DeoVR, the issue here is i can download the normal scenes and play on Skybox, but passthrough scenes won't work properly through a server, so i have no way to enjoy these properly
This has confirmed the issues for me.
Silly-Sausage but passthrough scenes won't work properly through a server
You can make at least the SLRO alpha PT scenes work now when streaming from a hardrive over Wifi by using Heresphere and SMB or by using DeoVR and a DLNA server (Ple with an x is free if you don't have one already).

SchnuppiLilac I use Plex which is DNLA, and will still have the frame rate issues using DeoVR as it appears to be fundamentally broken at the moment.
Not worth getting Heresphere as there is too much hassle setting up SMB, i was surprised it doesn't support DNLA after everyone echoing how good it is and wasn't keen on the interface personally.
Skybox, i love the 'Volume Boost' on this player as nice loud sounds of slurping and kissing adds so much immersion to any scene, also Pigasus these are my goto players which work perfectly for my setup but obviously doesn't support Alpha Passthrough over Plex DNLA.
Quick question if you don't mind .... What is the current highest resolution the Q3 supports. Can it play the VR Bangers 12k scenes loaded directly onto the headset without a PC etc ?

One of the first things I tested after getting the Q3 It didn't work with the 10K version trying several players, so I guess the Q3 is still limited to 8K. I did not transfer the file onto the headset but am pretty sure that it will not make a difference.
Strange that you have the fps issue with your DeoVR app on Q2 in all scenarios while the problems reported lately were mostly related to PCVR. Did you ever try to unistall/re-install the app? Or if this didn't help, doing a factory reset of the headset?

That's a shame, you would of thought there would be some sort of improvement over the Q2 even on release, hopefully you will get a update which improves it otherwise i will be giving the Q3 a pass.
I've just been watching some of the latest 8k VR Bangers scenes in Skybox and whatever they are doing is witchcraft as the image quality is incredible, i can't wait to be able to watch the 12k stuff when it becomes standard. The one thing i think they have done is reduce the image size slightly which is fine with me.

I'm starting to see more users realise there is an issue with the frame rate which has never been the best and always looked a bit choppy even when i used to get 90 fps.
Got to be honest there's not a chance i'm gonna do factory reset of my headset as i have the majority of things working perfectly which took alot of fine tuning to get it all working how i like.
Also won't be re-installing the app, that's not the issue, that's the goto of developers when they don't have a clue how to fix it, similar to re-start your pc etc, i'll let others be the guinea pigs for that one.
At the end of the day if they start losing customers then it will get a proper fix.
Silly-Sausage I still have a Q2 and I am getting 80-90 fps at 90 Hz when streaming. I noticed that fps will drop down to 40 when moving the sharpness slider out of the default middle position, no matter if it's to the left or right.

You're a little beauty mate, you flippin done it, i have my default setting set to +1 on all scenes i open and the first scene i opened and moved the 'Sharpness' to Zero the frame rate jumped to 89-90 fps. from 28-29 fps.
You're a star... i said the re-install wasn't it and you proved me right.
Great find mate
Thank you so much !
That's a horrible bug is that one, needs a fix ASAP, you deserve a reward from SLR for that
