I'm curious whether Nash/Redstar will fuck up the camera distance again. At least I don't care that much this time since I'm not really into these girls. But I keep my fingers crossed for you guys, you seem to be pretty excited about this one... 
Still hoping for that Laney Grey + Lilly Bell threesome though. Maybe some day. Maybe with the perfect technical execution. One can always dream...

vrfanservice I know in photography, I try to gather as much light as possible without clipping highlights. Then I darken to taste during post process. That way I get more data and it reduces noise. Does that apply the same way in video?

Did you ever try re-watching the Lily Lou + Jessica Ryan scene? I remember you posting the camera position being off, but it looks totally fine in my headset so was curious if maybe it was a settings thing.
justsomedude101 No, it's not a setting thing. I almost never fiddle around with settings, I watch it how it's filmed/edited. And it's not only the Lily + Jessica scene, this goes back months and years. Many if not all of their scenes are shot too close for positions like cowgirl. Maybe you like it that way but pretty much every major studio does it differently, so I guess it's for a reason...

Philip it's a damn shame that someone made Camila Cortez change her beautiful breasts to those awful fake tits. And to add to my sadness you guys at SLR have put a ton of makeup on her and shot her with those fake eyebrows making her look even more fake and obscure her beauty even further.
It makes me so fucking sad that this industry can change a incredibly beautiful natural girl like Camila Cortez and change her to fake transvestite looking monster. How could you make such a beautiful girl doubt her body and destroy her like that...It's a disgrace.
LordCrash Hmm, interesting. I suppose it just comes down to individual preferences then, or some combination of preferences + headset variation. With a few exceptions, SLR's scenes look just as accurate with distancing to my eyes as any of the other major studios- Wankz/POVR, CzechVR, etc. And oftentimes more accurate (plenty of Badoink scenes appear too far to my eyes, or the recent giraffe-necking from the "Madi About You" scene at Wankz).

That's not the point. I use the very same headset with the very same settings for every scene from every studio I watch, SLR, POVR/WankzVR, CzechVR, NA VR, BadoinkVR, VR Bangers etc. And while CzechvR, POVR, BadoinkVR etc. pretty much nailed the perfect distance down, SLR (Nash/Redstar) is always too close in both cowgirl and every single close up shot. Please, do a direct comparison with e.g. the Lily/Jessica SLR scene and a recent scene of the other studios, it's glaring. Other positions like missionary are ok (most of the time). Some Nash/Redstar scenes are better than others but it's really an ongoing theme in their productions. Another glaring example is e.g. the threesome with Chloe Temple and Camila Cortez...
Maybe you like the close distance and don't care about not seeing much and severe double vision, that might be your preference. But stating that there was no difference in the distance compared to other studios is just downright false.
LordCrash Philip's a nice guy, I'd ban both of you. You're only looking at her and other performers to meet YOUR ideals of what they should look like, You take no consideration to think that maybe they weren't "forced" into anything. Maybe, for their own self image, they have had work done to make them happier, to meet the ideal that they are looking for.
You only consider how her change affects you - that's selfish. You also don't seem to care that sometime performers peruse these boards and would be crushed to read the vile things you and that other guy are spewing - that's cruel. This isn't going to change your minds or make you reflect on your actions, you'll probably write some long diatribe about how you're not alone thinking these thoughts, there are others too - just spewing more garbage.

That's exactly what I'm saying though: when I compare to other studios, the distances in SLR scenes almost always look virtually identical to other producers. Here's some snapshots of some SLR scenes vs some Wankz ones. Distances literally all look spot-on accurate in my headset when jumping between almost any SLR/Wankz/Czech/whoever scene. There's obviously some exceptions with every studio, and 100% agree the Chloe Temple/Camilia Cortez scene was one that was shot far too close during the laying portion.
That's why I'm genuinely curious if it has something to do with how the G2 (I think you've said that's what you use before) displays the 200 degree fisheye format. But I digress.
I for one enjoy the distances used most of the time for the majority of positions segments and feel like they're generally spot-on accurate, so to each their own.

If that's actually the case then fuck that 200° fisheye format... 
Or somebody actually provide me some useful settings for my G2, the scenes are sometimes barely watchable that way... Simply zooming out doesn't work, then everything is distorted.

It's not just the G2. Same thing with my headsets. Crash is right. The problem isn't that SLR's shoots lack outstanding scale and distance, they have that nailed, it's that you can't adjust their 200 degree fishy video's distance in your playback software without things going horribly wrong
In an Equirectangular (Dome) 180 video, when Skylar Vox invades the goldielocks zone of the camera lens with her massive mommy milkers and I go crosseyed, or the scale is like seeing from Frodo Baggin's point of view, I can push it back a few notches in my player on the fly and it usually tames distance & scale issues. Game on.
In Fisheye 200, it becomes a funhouse mirror if you try that.
4c1dr3f13x Hmm, interesting. I don't ever really feel the need to zoom in or out for the most part with SLR's scenes, so not something I've experienced unfortunately (or fortunately I guess...). Imagine it would be frustrating though.
Sounds like it ultimately come back to the eternal "fisheye/non-fisheye" debate then, but other than that I'm fresh out of ideas.
SLR Originals just don’t play nicely in any other player but DEO/SLR app. Other players I think you can try to tweak settings, toggle fisheye, etc. but there’s persistent distortion. In the native app the scenes look good to me. There are some exceptions out there. As I recall the ACC/Jamie scene had some problems here and there, but by and large, and especially lately I too have no problems with SLRO scenes.
Just for the record... the Lily/Jessica scene was not filmed by Nash/Redstar. It was a VRFanservice scene.
(Not throwing them under the bus at all though, because I actually LOVE that scene. However, as I noted in the video comments: there are issues with the audio. 90% of the scene is in mono. There's no directional audio left/right, which is very noticeable in all the closeups. Can you inquire about requesting a fix? @Philip )
Regarding the larger topic, yes there are some Nash/Redstar scenes where the camera is placed too close. More notably during the laying down sections, imo. It would benefit if it was taken a few inches back. One example I recall the most vividly was the Savannah Bond BGGG.
Nash/Redstar do film seated cowgirl very close-up too. More than other studios. But I actually really like it. For seated POV, it feels lined up for me when I'm in seated position. I want them to feel like they are sitting right on top of me pressed up against me. The drawback for some though is penetration is not very visible (which I understand can be an issue).
One thing I will note though is I'm using a Pimax 8KX. When things are close up I have a high threshold of tolerance because the headset's FOV is so wide and tall. It's a huge plus for porn.

I asked Evan Redstar to join the forum to address these issues, unfortunately I cannot handle this small editing issues so I'm relying it to Evan now. He's our chief editor in charge.

You should not be adjusting anything, especially zoom, there is only right "distance" from where all the geometry works. We are working on fixing the aspect of VR videos.
