doublevr

I see why the price is an issue, and your team only has that much time to dedicate on this.
But I would be cautious to dismiss it as barely an improvement if you haven‘t tried it.
You guys have the best casting in VR, and produce so much great content that it would be a shame if in the end the technical quality is not up to your otherwise very high standards!

Maybe you can reach out to someone from VRBangers, or other studios and talk to them about their technical setup/pipeline?
Doesn‘t cost anything and might help SLR make a more informed purchasing decision in the future! 😊

Fapmaster17 Yes, this was a much improved skin, my only gripe with them at first were their colors but this one def looks a lot better from a color standpoint.

doublevr Splitting hairs here at this point, I'm in agreement with you, taking the price and post production into consideration, I would also go your route. I would much rather have your production team pump out way more content at a faster pace due to a faster workflow than see a minimal bump in visual quality for a $20k system.

Fapmaster17 They also only release 1 scene a week, which is a little annoying. I often wait months to resub to them because of this, if not longer because they may not release scenes I actually want for weeks at a time, while SLR pumps out way more content and more frequently and the way their casting has been lately, I am way more likely to want to consume every one of their releases, at least much more often than the VRB releases, their casting is sometimes a little disappointing. That's also not to mention that they split their main content between 2 different sites and subscriptions, no real value there.

I agree, VRBangers has the best video quality at the moment. To me the 12K vid really felt like a leap forward especially in the background department (truly a huge leap in terms of quality for the background). I think their recent 8k scenes definitely benefit greatly from being shot in 12K and then down sampled. It's weird to me though that the actress isn't as big a leap forward as the background. Makes me wonder if it's a bitrate issue or something. Like that moving things are less sharp than static things due to the compression or something.

Hairsational are WE watching the same scenes?? Lol. I subscribe to a lot of them and VRBangers easily has the best visual quality right now. It's honestly mind-blowing sometimes. POVR/Wankz is probably second. SLR was up there but recently took a big step back in recent scenes, been trying to figure out what's going on there

Kolaches Sure, but how long were they using the K2 Pro system? How long did it take them to get that process to level of they best scenes on that camera? They have been using the canon 8k system with the mod for how long so far? Maybe a couple of months at best? You dont think they will still improve on that workflow just like they did with their past camera? If they have proven anything to me so far, is that they are always trying to innovate and push the boundaries and the fact that they went so far out of their way to actually mod the canon lens just to fix the IPD is a big deal

      Kolaches
They switched from the K2 Pro to the Canon. K2 Pro produces a more realistic image with the iZugar lens but at only 5K or 6k at 60fps.

Canon shoots 8K 60fps but its default IPD sucks (60mm). The Canon hack SLR implemented recently seems to make it a bit better but it's still not as crisp as their K2 production.

For what its worth, it's a difficult decision to make (considering the cost and time investment involved).

I personally love the image from the K2 Pro and would be happy to wait for SLR to fine tune their Canon hack till they get a tack sharp image (it's like 85% almost there, maybe needs a couple more tweaks).

Unfortunately, there are barely any cameras that can do 8k 60fps natively (only Canon and FM Duo at the moment, the newer Calf camera can't achieve 8k 60fps either).

Most of the other studios seem to be using upscaled, high-bitrate footage from the K2 Pro; use the FM Duo; or have a custom, dual cinema camera rig.

i tend to like very slow-moving actresses...not making it slow motion...just moving very very slow or being still so i can SEE the things i want to see

so maybe 8k 30fps would be good for ME 🙂

unfortunately, the producers don't wanna make things of me

spanker Yup same here, although not having any sex, because of this taste some of my favorite porn is non-VR from inthecrack which is just super hot babes in soft slow movements and a bunch of super closeups. I wish they would shoot in VR as well.

i like natural nails in porn...makes it more sensual and like I'm in the SAME room...maybe getting jerked off or cumming on their feet. so FAST moving does me no good...just blurry shit going up and down.

3D180VR, which shoots with two fisheye lenses in parallel, has seen an increase in the number of various models in recent years.

Speaking of VR, 3D180VR may be more mainstream than 360° these days.

In this field, too, each piece of equipment has its own advantages and disadvantages. I think it is best to use different types of equipment depending on the application and purpose.

Binocular lenses are easy, and when shooting with two monocular cameras, there is the advantage of being able to choose the right camera for the right resolution and frame rate.

doublevr What is the IPD on something like this, 80mm? Isnt this pretty much the same as a zcam k2 pro but without all the sync advantages? Or are these some of their newer 6k and 8k bodies?

doublevr This camera (Kandao VR) looks very promising.
It has a great IPD (65mm) and the image quality is much more clearer/sharper than the Canon camera.
The image quality is also better than the Calf VR camera.

However, it only shoots at 8k 30fps, so there may be some frame interpolation required to get it to 60fps.
I wonder how well it would stack up against the Zcam K2 Pro (I suspect Kandao might beat Zcam here).

i saw a producer on SLR with a clip that showed 2 insta360 one-inch sensors in a rig setup...i did not SEE the footage used.

seemed like an easy rig for the cameras
