Passthrough is ok but I don't think it should replace VR porn. Thus, I understand some people here are scared that AR would replace VR porn, and others are scared VR porn would make AR less interesting (theHobbit).
We get it, now stop the trolling on both sides.

Since both sides fear this (theHobbit is scared SLR stops AR for example), we have this useless topic of people trolling 😃. I still think theHobbit can troll all he wants, surely AR is not ready for any other position than cowgirl. Trying to align on missionnary or doggie is just IMPOSSIBLE. Not only it's shot badly by Simsense but even if you wanted to align, you just can't: fucking in doggie or missionary will have you move your whole body, and thus your head --> model will then unalign and move with you at the same time.
I know doublevr is ambitious and think he can fix all these issues in a blink of an eye, but I hardly doubt it since it's filmed and not actual real time 3D.

Oh and Simsense still cannot direct a model to look in the eyes, most of them still look over the shoulder. Not really pro for a pro site (see the Carolina Sweet scene, Britt Blair one, or Macy Meadows one, they are barely looking at the camera 😃).

Oh, and these latest scene with CGI stuff "being the best of both world"? Nah, it sucks, at least for AR --> you only want to see the dick out, not the whole body, else you can't align at all. Whole body = just keep it VR and be done with it. Having my room isn't what makes AR special, it's aligning the body (which makes the old PT scenes shittier than the current ones btw).

    I had some close up mish working a treat 🤩. I could lay on my front and see my hands either side of girls head and it was like I was banging her against my own headboard. It was pretty sweet. I could even cup Molly Littles head in my hand whilst plugging away.

    Sure it’s not fully there, but it’s a little bit of fun for a little while and offers some variety.

Every time you move forward, she moves forward, so there is no way you can align... It's just plain logic in how filmed VR works. It's not real time 3D.

                        Exactly. So many commenters seem to think that people who don't like PT just haven't tried it. It's like they can't concieve of someone not liking what they like. And yes, I can conceive of someone not liking VR, but then again - if that is the case, maybe you shouldn't have subbed to a site that is 95% VR and then advocate for it to accomodate your non-VR tastes (or take a site you own and turn it into a PT site even though you sold lifetime subs on a completely different premise).

                        LordCrash it's not "the next big thing" or "the natural evolution of gaming", it's just something for a particular group of people who enjoy these kind of games.

                        This probably annoys me the most - the constant drumbeat of "better get used to it, this is all there will be soon". Just because this brach of reality manipulation is what you like doesn't mean all the others are now invalid or obsolete.

                              So how do you guys think evolutions in cameras and computing plus AI will enhance the VR/AR experience in 10-20 years? This isn't a random question. It's good for SLR to be ahead of the curve and if you think something will be more of a VR porn disruptor than pass-through I'd be interested to hear your thoughts, and also SLR will want to be ahead of the curve once the tech becomes feasible. I suppose we'll be able to talk to the models and direct action this way, which will be weird, and no doubt this will lead to pretty immersive virtual girlfriends, which actually sounds kind of terrifying but could be incredibly addictive. What do you think the future holds?

                                vrpicasso I have a family. Personally I’m just not looking for an augmenting of my life. I just want to escape now and then into a different place, be fully immersed in that place, and like LordCrash says, get caught up in fantasies that will otherwise never ever happen to me. I’m never going to be surrounded by three or more young beauties. Sure, perhaps the AR tech will one day allow those three beauties to convincingly surround my location, whether that’s my room in passthrough or I dial in some CG space. But even with all that I’ll just never believe we get the performance out of the girl(s) when they’re forced to interact with a dude in a gimp suit with only his dick poking out in a padded room. The awkwardness and strangeness of it all is just so apparent in their performance. Nope. I’d just rather wait until these experiments reach full-on computer generated partner(s) and I can prompt an experience. The AI advances will accelerate us to that technology sooner than we expect, I’m sure of that. For now, just give me good VR.

                                      I have no actual clue. I missed the sale on that magic crystal ball lately...

                                      But if I had to take a wild guess: everything will be pretty much still the same. There will still be VR, AR and 2D porn in 2040, only with better resolution and a much better hardware. There will still be no real AI, no human-like virtual girlfriend, no human-like robot.

                                      It's imho much more likely that porn will be forbidden again in huge parts of the once free world and we're back in the middle ages, embracing that reactionary theocracy.

                                            I do incorporate erotic fiction into my routines if you’re serious with that question. I enjoy very much when a VR scene parallels one or more stories I’ve read and I can incorporate the typically better plot lines from erotica by authors I enjoy into the visuals I see in VR. I’ll therefore often kill the audio from porn, and replace it with music, and then let my mind weave in whatever plots I remember from good erotic stories. In this way my favorite scenes can take on a multitude of lives.

                                                    theHobbit AI technology is advancing at such a pace, I fully expect it will one day be possible to feed a good story in as a prompt and generate porn on demand. The days of the holodeck we always knew the Enterprise crew were lost within are probably not all that far away.

                                                        argyle43 yeah I was thinking about something similar today. One day future cinema goers will walk into a film and be able to watch the plot from multiple points of view as though they were in the set themselves.

                                                          FWIW I think software is going to accelerate in sophistication far far quicker than hardware. It's just much easier / quicker / cheaper to iterate code. So good sex-robots are science fiction but a virtual girlfriend is not - I can use chatGPT on a pretty human and intuitive level already and this is just the first year of public availability. Haptics will continue to be expensive and cumbersome, and frankly kind of shit for many years. We don't even have good VR treadmills yet. Maybe the chip-in-brain thing will get to convincing body immersion before haptics.

                                                          Also in hardware, we're still so far away from lifelike visuals, in terms of resolution, field of view and especially ability to focus, not to mention size / weight of the headsets. So I think there will be a massive imbalance between hardware and software so that the "next big thing" like a virtual GF will be high tech data and low tech hardware, like in the movie "Her", a convincing person on your phone with a thoroughly disappointing level of physical immersion. In terms of VR, we may move away from cameras aside from initial high res scanning of models and into entirely CG, with viewer interaction, and if so there's going to be those early years of complaints as companies like SLR make uncanny valley CG scenes before the tech matures into absolute realism. On the plus side, if and when this tech is perfected, models will have infinitely long careers and we won't lose them to Onlyfans 🙂

                                                          VR technology will always hit walls based on barriers to entry for creators, affordability, and other external factors. It's highly possible that we'll be watching 32K scenes and studios will still be churning out generic GFE scenes, or we'll have holographic virtual girlfriends able to walk around our house but payment processors will make it so they can't say any curse words.

                                                          It's why so much of this talk of the future of VR rings hollow to me. I'll be long dead before the most exciting ideas will ever be put into practice and made affordable to the general public. I just want good scenes, new ideas, and good performances. Good work is timeless. Some of my favorite VR scenes are years and years old. Some are from the 4K era. My favorite flat porn is from the early 2000s and filmed in 480p.
