Ventriloquist_Tacos yes, it is worth it without a doubt over the Quest 2
Here are some of the issues I encountered:
Negatives:
• The LCD screens have high resolution, but the darks are terrible, especially when watching cinema films.
• The desktop computer interface is unacceptable for a device that requires a desktop PC for most media (128 GB storage for most sales). VirtualDesktop shouldn't be an essential purchase for a device at this price point.
• The nose cover lets in too much light, which is completely unacceptable. The device doesn’t work well in the dark.
• There is no default video app of acceptable quality, forcing consumers to buy software for essential functions (SkyBox or HereSphere, since Deo doesn't support letterbox or multiple language tracks).
• No suitable web browser. Meta browser is covered with advertisements that cannot be removed. (Can side-load Chromium, but Firefox Reality is dead)
• The Quest 3 is very expensive relative to its benefits over other devices. I have a Quest 2 and Gear VR. Out of these three, the Gear VR is better suited for my usage in certain scenarios (OLEDs for watching films, lighter device, more storage for travel, longer battery life to watch a full 2 hour film; much more secure and private; 1 TB + of storage, for when I'm too lazy to activate AirLink).
• Additionally, further registration is required to make the product usable (developer option to remove the guardian assistant, install custom home environments, download free content, ADB removal of bloatware).
Despite these drawbacks, I still don't regret purchasing the Quest 3. Overall, it is a great piece of technology and worth considering if you want an immersive VR experience.
