Having spent several hours in the pas few days, with the Quest 3, I've come to an exciting conclusion: it's a massive leap forward from my previous devices. In this review, ill dive into the Quest 3's incredible improvements and how it stacks up against the Pimax 8KX and G2 Reverb. I have even, revisiting older videos with the Quest 3 has been an eye-opening experience ..they look significantly better(Watching 8K videos on platforms like SLR and CzechVR feels incredibly real with the Quest 3, especially those up-close moments.)

Clarity and Sweet Spot:
What sets the Quest 3 apart is its remarkable clarity, and it's all thanks to those pancake lenses. But here's the kicker – the sweet spot covers the entire field of view unlike the Reverb or 8KX, creating an unparalled sense of presence
Field of View (FOV):
Way better than G2 Reverb. Less than 8KX in theory but feels way better coz the 8KX is warping and somehow unpleasant and not very clear. Wheres here the entire FOV is clear.
Eye Comfort: Way better than either. I used to spend 2 hours in 8KX and my eyes hurt all day. With Q3 none of that.
Mixed Reality Passthrough:
This feature is a killer. U can have the girl in ur room , on ur bed, creating another level of immersion for me. this feature is really cool.
Overall Ratings:
Quest 3: 8/10
Pimax 8KX: 5/10
Reverb G2: 4/10

    albertleder Glad to hear this. Did you test quest3 with pcvr mode?l think maybe av1 helps a lot it brings the same effect with half bitrates

        sheldoncooper I actually only use it wirelessly. My porn is on my HDDs which I then stream onto my quest using DLNA and play the files locally on the quest. This means there is no compression or anything. So AV1 actually doesnt matter for me.

          I'm far too lazy and really don't have the time to read the whole thread, I just want to ask is the Quest 3 enough of an improvement over the Quest 2 just to use for SLR and if I will notice a quality jump? I wont be using it for games and I have zero interest in passthrough as I really don't see the point in it and honestly I'm not too happy the way the site is going with passthrough but that's a whole different conversation for a different thread, I just want to know if its a worthwhile upgrade just to watch regular SLR and nothing else? Thanks

            xxxscottyxxx pass through and games a side, imo I stick to the q2, unless you willing to pay 500$ just to get rid of the sweet spot or the lens rings, and i also heard 8k looks better.

            I have no q3 yet but I've read and watched many reviews, and that's my assumption, no interest in pass through color or games? Then why spend the 500$

            Plus meta coming out with a q3 lite for cheaper maybe that one will have same pancake lense and maybe no pass through, 🤔...no one really knows yet though.

                the quest 3 is worth a buy same like the pico 4...

                but the difference and huge thing is the depth sensors and its all in color...which pico 4 lacks.
                the passthrough is similar to pico 4 but sligthly better in any way cause of depth and scale is 1:1 and you just feel immersed while in passthrough...

                in pico 4 you dont gonna have such level of immersed when in passthrough.

                but pico 4 is enough for porn in passthrough too and its rly nice too.

                quest 3 has just has more possibility which still in progress when it comes to passthrough ar porn...
                like your hands infront of object and tittis or your dick which probably will be possible soon. ^^

                and or if you put a model behind reallife objects then it will stay there and behind those objects...

                same is probably possible with pico 4 too but you need to learn unity or unreal and do everything manually if want achieve this.

                that why depth sensor is a must thing and just worth. it makes everything much simple for user...

                  I only bought it for the pass through -- if you don't care about the pass through, the marginal difference between the MQ3 and Pico 4 probably isn't worth the extra money.

                          I don't know enough about the tech to know if 512 gives any advantage of 128. I dropped the extra $$$ because, I guess, just in case?

                              not a lot of time with it...some 2D sites like CB and cool lil JAV site are very good. interface with cb is better on resolution, but the interface of getting in and out of full screen is dumb...which you do to tip and chat, but it leaves the open window way off center, which needs immediate correcting each time. JAV site is great and no issues

                              have apps like bigscreen...the sample/previews of 3d movie look very cool...which you can rent. kinda MAKES sense to watch REG 3d movies with a 700-dollar headset...it was probably possible on the other headsets also...while i have had bigscreen, i never used it from before.

                                  Example the zoming in and out you wanted it to move up and down instead "pitch"

                                  What you do is you click on pitch and push up on the joystick then you should see the green check, then click on the green check to save it.

                                  You can do this for all the controls

                                  You click on one, then click on a button you want to change it to then you'll see the green check.

                                      Vrsumo2017 Standing doggy is always too high up and far away IMO. 90% of the pixels are devoted to the background and 10% to the woman's body. Starting the camera from a lower height would resolve this. The problem with trying to replicate a "real life distance" with the cam position is the actual effect isn't equivalent. It's more distant, like Im a 7 foot 8 NBA player without glasses having sex with a woman "way down there". Requiring a zoom-in, once again, ruins image quality, at least at the current 8k max.

                                      The same concept above applies to standing missionary.

                                      There also needs to be more ass closeups, eye level gaping shots during anal too down by her ass. And closeups at the end with the facials. The cum play example I always refer to as the gold standard is the Freya Von doom SLR 8k scene, but for whatever reason, they choose not to replicate that.

                                      Overall, somehow flat porn has figured out a way to be dynamic and compelling, but most of VR misses this by its obsession with "accurate POV".

                                      While I don't have as high of opinion of their video quality as I used to (its okay though), Czech VR probably does the best in terms of that dynamism and closeup thing I'm talking about.

                                        doorsareopen You mention you're in the minority of those that prefer non POV. Well, I'm in your camp, and even if a minority, there's a lot of us and definately a market to be tapped.

                                        I especially prefer non POV for gangbangs. To me, the holy grail would be to have a studio who does videos like analvids.com but in non POV VR. (Though I can do without a piss version like they have). So far the most promising on that crazy hardcore end would be Putalocura VR, and sometimes SinsVR or Realjam, when they decide to do it. The closest actual video I've seen to the above described analvids style would be the Billie Star gangbang.
