Virtual desktop + heresphere much better quality than using the native app?!

So I tested the Quest 3 using virtual desktop and godlike + heresphere with super sampling and one of the latest vr bangers vids (best quality at the moment imo) and it is MUCH better quality then using the heresphere app in Quest directly. A huge difference (you need to test it with one of these very high quality vids to really notice it though).

Actually makes me wonder if it's the player and not the vid that limits the video quality in these cases? I even put the resolution multiplier to 2 on quest and experimented with the usual other settings like sharpness. Still way lower res. Curious to hear if anybody else noticed this too

Hurto11 I think you jut talking bullshits ...

The Q3, the clarity is better, the screendoor effect is almost completely gone unless you go squinting for it. But there's more to it than pure resolution. The image is clearer more often if not just because there is no center sweetspot you have to fight--it's always clear now. Godrays are also almost completely gone which also improves the image quality and immersion.

Color passthrough alone is worth it and the immersion is REAL. It doesn't matter if you're in a dim room that's pretty grainy, just the color backdrop of your house is enough to give immersion.

FOV is significantly wider but not wide enough you can be looking straight ahead and still see yer junk--you'll still be looking downward a bit.

        I just wanted to say to the people that think its not better than the quest 2 for porn.
        I dont have a quest 2 but i had a 8KX and a g2 reverb and the Q3 is still better for image quality but roughly similar. But the lenses are a million times better than either headsets, which have horrible fresnel lenses like the quest 2.
        Also its super comfy and small and u can move it with it.

          Is there any way to like anchor the models so when I move they don’t move as well?

            Vrsumo2017 sorry i said yes, that works, actually it doesn't work now, I checked again today no boundary, no passthrough but I wonder why do you need to turn off the boundary🤔.

                Cuase I turn it off for pt videos, if I wanna move around the boundary comes on asking to set it again, when you have it off and watch pt videos when u move around like move the doggy to your living room all you gotta do is hold the home button just to re-center the images.

                With boundary off its more convenient to just move in different areas, instead of always getting that boundary message when you step out.

                Oops now that I think of it I always had like a square mapped out in the middle of my room, maybe I should of mapped out my whole room, but still if I went to the living room the boundary message would come on

                  maybe a stupid question, but gathering from the handful of comments i've seen address it, a quest 2 aftermarket headstrap will not interchange with quest 3, correct?

                      But I have no pro or q3 yet, but I've seen lots of reviews and comparisons and imo it looks better.

                        nfsga The lenses are the same but the resolution is 30% higher, so yes the image quality is better. Although the colors are slightly less saturated due to the LCD tech on the Pro being better, so if thats more important to you than resolution, keep that in mind.

                              So I tried a lot of my old vids on Heresphere quest 3 and Heresphere with virtual desktop and the quality between the two is VERY different. PC looks way better, I was pretty blow away by the difference. I now also understand why some people don't like sharpening as it looks like crap on quest but often very good on PC. Same exact scene, same exact headset.

                                vrpicasso Right? I thought it was just me. It’s so uncomfortable compared to what I’m used to with BoboVR M2Pro and VRCover facial interface. I was really surprised when everyone was saying they may not need to upgrade the strap as it’s decent.

                                Pre-ordered my prescription lens adapters now too so hopefully I should have them shortly and can ditch the glasses.

                                    doorsareopen I haven’t tried it but it’s a slimmer unit so I guess not. BoboVR are going to be selling a kit to adapt their M2 headset to fit the Quest 3 which is pretty cool of them to do to save existing customers from having to shell out for the new M3Pro. Not seen prices yet though so don’t know how much of a saving it is.

                                      petermc yeah, and it's such a bad first impression for the user when they cheap out like this. Initial impressions of the device are pretty poor honestly, after I was so damned hyped for it. Even color passthrough - it's not like the girl looks better, I can just see all my mess in higher quality LOL
