So time for a review! I tried out 8K JAV and I must say it's a huge improvement! So much better than 4k it's not even close.

Scale
The scale was very good. I didn't notice any weird distortions in the image either (like you can see around the edges in a lot of movies shot on the canon camera for instance). I would say it was actually perfect for me considering some JAV seems too small to me. Very good.

Colors, contrast, etc.
Also no complaints here, looked good to me. Good color and contrast while maintaining a natural look.

Details
The video I watched was encoded in h265 at 8192x4096@60fps (currently the maximum decodable resolution). So very nice.

Any complaints?
I think the only thing to hold it back is the low bitrate (only 32mbs) and you can notice it's not enough when you watch the scenes. Still compared to the 4K we had before it's a huge improvement.

    Not sure how they’re handling the Canon footage. But scale looked good. Detail was very nice. And I didn’t notice any geometric distortion.

    Overall, I’m quite impressed!

      ableman I shoot my own personal videos with my wife, wide open looks great within 2-3ft from the lens when properly focused but everything moving past that starts to look blurry, you get a much wider range shooting F4 or F5.6 if you can get away with it and if you still have enough light. I personally have been shooting in F4. All of the shooting I do is indoors with controlled lighting, I have a couple of 60W lights bolted on the wall behind our bed about 8 ft above our heads and then I add a couple of lights on the left and right side of the camera, little aperture lights and I get a very clean image.

          AlterEgo hahahahaha I sometimes sure feel that old. I have been shooting my own personal stuff as a hobby since the days of the old gopro mods with entaniya lens mods, everything from the Evo, K1, K2 pro and now the canon system and that's just the VR stuff, I've been shooting non VR and SBS 3D crap since way before then. I have just found that porn has always been ahead of the mainstream tech adoption which is why I am always on here to see what the latest and greatest is.

            +Good news: You can buy the 8K videos at DMM / Fanza with Paypal and no VPN. At least from Europe. DeepL Translator is your friend.
            +Bad news: They have DRM, and their player is garbage.

            I bought some titles just to support the 8K version (17 euros each title), and it is impossible to watch them with a minimum of quality with their player. I have tested with the Windows version and the 8K videos look 4K and the 4K ones, like 2K. And they are totally out of scale, plus there are hardly any customization options. A disaster.

            No wonder VR doesn't advance in Japan, if the stores have DRM and have to use players like that. I'd give up on VR forever rather than to watch movies like that.

            Like I said, I've bought several 8K titles at DMM / Fanza just to support them, but I downloaded them from elsewhere without DRM to watch with HereSphere. Which just show the uselessness of DRM, which only serves to screw anyone who wants to pay.

            And guys, this is like night and day. Much more definition, girls look like in real life. The sensation of "presence" and eroticism increases a lot, because at 8K and with supersampling it's like having the girls in front of you. It's amazing.

            And no giant girls as in western 8K productions, the scale is perfect. These people really know.

            The only negative point is that the bitrate is low, and some backgrounds look a little blurred. I hope they improve this.

            Very happy with these JAV VR releases at 8K, the improvement is huge and the increase in presence impresses. I hope it becomes the new standard and all Japanese studios move to 8K.

              I also purchased video.
              It is much better than HQ FANZA video.
              I really liked oil on tits and can see clearly visible tits veins and pupil.
              So far it is good, not big surprised maybe cause I used to watch western 6K/8K video.
              But if I compared with other HQ videos, much better.
              And big point is there was no 8K JAVVR before and finally I can watch now.
              App player is not good, almost nothing changed from 2years ago.

                seemingly seeing a lack of NEW jav clips...let alone the deleted ones.

                not too happy ZERO have been on the front page of NEW clips in months now...not too sure of the excuse for it or the FIX

                  spanker JAV is regularly being sent to SLR. As for it's placement on the public site (front page, etc.), I am not sure about.

                    i might have SEEN 2 or 3 make it on FIRST page (the first 12)....in the last 3 months time...not sure when i raised the issue.

                    said it was being fixed and also these JAV producers didn't want to be linked to hardcore? like the ones in sandbox...which is understandable, but these producers have NEVER been making sandbox clips

                    AlterEgo very nice, really looking forward to seeing them improve their workflow. For ages they have been stuck in 4k resolutions, so glad to see them finally bump up their resolution. I dont know why but Japanese porn just hits so different compared to anything made by the west, if only we can get those damn censor laws changed... haha

                            We may not see it in our VR lifetimes but I'm sure as their population continues to age itself out of existence and more and more younger generations start to make it into higher places of power in their government it will change. Hell, wasnt there an attempt at one point over the past couple of years to change it, or am i imagining that?
