This is an additional site you can use as it appears that DMM/Fanza block certain titles from displaying without the use of a VPN from what I've encountered (likely due to compliance/foreign payment processor issues), wheras javtrailers does not appear to do so.

Also note that I'm fairly certain you can only purchase titles through DMM/Fanza with a VPN and/or credit card linked to a non-foreign address, and even if you do the releases are stricken with DRM, so bear that in mind.

I would like to buy these titles in 8K, but it's impossible outside of Japan.... 🙁

The big problem is that DMM closed its western store (R18.com) because of the dinosaur owners of VISA and Mastercard, who are now the new reactionary religion, and censor what they want.

So there is no way to buy their titles in 8K outside Japan, unless you use a VPN, something I don't plan to do because I don't want to mess with my bank.

Oh wow. Putting it up for download. Will let you know tomorrow

Natch Visa/MC may have been the cause of R18's issues, but were not the reason they were closed.

Per 8K JAV VR, from what I have heard from studios, the biggest issue is the cost to apply mosaic. If the resolution is higher, it costs a lot more. With DMM taking such a huge cut, it may not make financial sense for them to shell out magnitudes more to add mosaic if 4K sells well enough. The 8K that is on DMM now are by DMM studios which have deep pockets and probably make a lot more per sale than non-DMM studios. We hope with the AI Mosaic solution that smaller studios will feel more comfortable shooting in higher resolutions if mosaic costs become a non-issue.

KMP VR (a non-DMM studio) has announced that they'll publish 8K movies "soon". They sell VRs at A Festa without DRM... 🙂

ableman please tell us how is the image quality compared with the slr 8k and the file size

The problem is that they are impossible to view in 8K unless you buy them from DMM with a credit card through a VPN, with the risk of your bank catching you and cancelling your card, or even receiving a penalty... 🙁

    Bummer.

They, as well as a lot of people using the canon camera are probably shooting in f2.8 to maximize the amount of light they get without introducing more noise or resorting to filming in 30fps in mp4 format. Using f2.8 does have more of a shallow DOF on this camera and its easier to have your subject out of focus. I personally shoot in f4 or f5.6 which seems to be the sweet spot for optimal DOF and sharpness all-around. If you are familiar with shooting with these cameras then you understand that you will need a lot more light, specially when you want to keep your ISO at base, which in RAW is 800 and that already has plenty of noise, there are "tricks" to get around the noise issue and minimize it as much as possible while still shooting in RAW (which has a ton of noise) at the expense of dynamic range. Which in all honesty, for porn, who really cares about dynamic range???? You have controlled lighting 95%+ of the time anyways. It can be tricky to get the best image out of it while still keeping all these factors into consideration in order to avoid having to do some major denoising on the 8k footage, those of you who have tried know damn well attempting to denoise the 8k footage is not practical at all. So far I have come up with a workflow that does compromise dynamic range but gives me an image that is 90%+ acceptable to me without having to denoise, the better your lighting is, the better it looks straight out of the camera with very minor tweaking. These studios need more time to play with this system and iron out all the major kinks they are dealing with now.

AlterEgo They are DMM owned so they rather bury their head in sand rather than figuring out some way to cater to a willing and able foreign audience. Fortunately, the actual production crew that shot those movies is freelance so movies of the same quality should find their way to SLR eventually.
