If you had clear and colour passthrough, I could see the attraction but, even then it’s still pretty much restricted to cg positions where you can lay still. Once you start tilting the camera, it doesn’t work as it feels like your room is spinning around you. I really don’t want to go back to super restrictive VR where you never move and the girl just rides you for the whole scene just to fit in with passthrough. Either that or people have to start physically acting out the scenes (ie standing up when the guy is standing, sitting when he’s sitting etc.) and most people don’t want to do that.

Like others have said, I also don’t have a spare £1,500 laying around to get the Pro. The whole thing about Quest 2 was that it finally made VR affordable to the masses. The masses don’t buy £1,500 headsets so it’s probably not the best idea to target a ton of content to that market. Not that I’m saying you are.

I disagree,I've ran threw many scenes, vr studios and I found many that worked with all positions, ive seen sum the edge of the bed doggystyle, literally if stand at the edge ur bed the model looks like she on ur bed, kneeling doggy works too

Saw one video sitting in a chair getting a bj literally like I was in my room sitting in a chair.

It works with positions.

Sometimes I be laying in bed and and the model is standing talking g to me stripping and teasing I'll center to my side so it looks like she standing on the side of my bed...

It's a really cool effect, sum video work better the others but when it works great its awesome 👌

I don't really get that problem during laying cg rcg, but in doggy if you move ur head forward it does move the picture.

But I rarely noticed that.

Man I just been using passthrough most the time now. During cg rcg cuz that's my fave. 🤷‍♂️

Vrsumo2017 that’s kind of what I was saying that you need to physically act out the scene for passthrough to be effective even if you have decent colour passthrough on your headset. You have to stand up for doggy and missionary, then lay down for cg/rcg, then sit up for seated cg/rcg. Most VR porn watchers don’t generally do that, they tend to just adjust the camera position rather than their own position. Once you do that in passthrough, it all goes wrong as your fixed bedroom passthrough image doesn’t tilt when you tilt the camera.

The passthrough just gave me reason to get into a sex position or sit in a chair just to see how it works, it works pertty good, I'm sure there sum users who do get into positions I also see a fleshlight or a torso doll would be a fun combination with the passthrough.

Example
Say u in a laying cg with passthrough on, if you reach your hands like you reach to grab her ass cheeks your hand disappear behind her, so I was thinking wow if i had torso doll I could be holding on to ass cheeks, spank it too.

Something like that I see could be a great combination,
I mean, you don't need the passthrough to use a fleshlight or torso, but combined with it looking like it's in your own environment could be fun. 👍

Vrsumo2017 definitely laying/sitting down is going to be the position it works best as that’s how most people watch VR. My concern is that VR goes backwards and we go back to just getting those fixed cowgirl positions in scenes as that’s what works best for passthrough.

Hopefully I’m wrong and hopefully SLR don’t go all in on this yet anyway until the technology catches up to really make this work. At the moment it’s just the odd scene so not a major issue.

I don't think that'll be the case. They'll come up with an algorithmn that will map your room out and fit it specifically to the VR scene you are watching , and automatically re-scale it and adjust everything so that it looks real in your environment. That's probably still some years away, but that's where it could go.

I also think there will always be standard non-passthrough VR content always, as some people like or prefer that. Passthrough will be a category, not the standard I don't believe. You'll have studios putting out 1 normal VR and 1 PT per week.

My biggest problem with the Passthrough right now is just that it doesn't work on 98% of the videos, or it takes forever to get it to look right and find the right positioning where the scale matches. It's fun to mess with but it gets insanely frustrating after 10-15 min when nothing works.

Man, I'm seeing reviews of users showing off the forehead imprint of the qp.

Fuck, I can imagine being done with a hour or two of vrp, you walk out ur room and ur forehead just has this red in print on ur head, its all obvious what you been doing, lol 😆 🤦‍♂️
