Sperson I can’t believe everything I say gets so badly misinterpreted.

Can’t you enjoy the fucking great thing that we have built? Of course no one is taking it from you. We just keep adding all the new cool things to make it even better.

Come on guys

doublevr Well, if everybody misinterprets your posts it's probably because you don't explain your plans very well or in the sufficient level of detail. Maybe it would be better to write a bit more in depth about what you want to do and how you want to improve the site instead of just kicking two or three controversial buzzwords into the void... 🤔

Are you REALLY that surprised about the reaction to your posts lately? I can't imagine that, to be honest... even you should know that a lot of the "older" generations (the ones who often have the money for VR...) are not the biggest fans of TikTok etc. You should take your target audience into account when making announcements and comparisons and stuff... 😉

doublevr Whoever thought giving you access to the discussion section was a good idea needs to be fired. I know this is porn, but some level of professionalism should still be expected.

RockyMtHigh I don't think he's a bad person. Things like the discounted subscription for people in need or blocking Russian cam studios, even if this decision harms his own business, are big pluses for me - so I don't see his sometimes off-putting posts and discussions too critical.

This thread shows great insights. First, that people only watch their favourite sections and skip through 90% of the video. Second, that people have different preferences, so long videos are still necessary to cater to everybody’s tastes.

In my opinion, the solution is obvious - offer us personalised experiences with your app. Continue to record longer videos to cater for everybody’s diverse preferences, but allow each user to specify which segments we like. Then make it as easy as possible for us to watch only those segments.

E.g. I only care about cowgirl & missionary. Instead of starting each video from the beginning, I’d love for the SLR app to recognise my preferences, then automatically play each video from one of those positions. Often, I might want to switch between missionary/cowgirl before the first segment finishes. Let us switch back and forth between our preferred positions with a hotkey/physical button. That would make switching as easy as using a TV remote.

Business wise, this is an incredible unique selling point for the app - an unmatched user experience that automatically skips all the boring bits for you.

Rakly3 My god you guys, please stop pretending you know shit.

This comment is exactly the reason that I will not renew my sub when it expires. Your idiot boss makes a barely intelligible comment about beating Tiktok (which does not have long videos segmented into custom points, but instead is famously and specifically SHORT VIDEOS), and when people react as expected, you jump in to insult them. Maybe work on reigning in your boss's nonsense in so he isn't trolling the customer forums like he used to troll Reddit, so you don't have to spend your day clarifying his ranting and taking out your frustration with it on us?

mebejoe Some of your posts here are getting strange--almost as if you resent the members or want to provoke them.

            Welcome to our nightmare

rerun119 Exactly. As I said yesterday - this happens every time a company tries to dominate a market. They bleed money trying to become the sole player, and as soon as they do, they cut quality to the bone and give cutomers the minimum. Sometimes an artisan will try to re-intoduce a quality product, but quality products cost money and by then people have gotten used to the cheap plastic shit the market leader is producing and they cant get enough traction. Capitalism at it's finest - appeal to the lowest common denominator, and fuck anyone who wants a quality product because its all about the almighty PROFIT.

Welcome to the Walmart of porn.

EDIT: I can imagine the boss thinking "FUCK YEAH - Walmart makes a buttload of money!" while completely missing that people HATE Walmart.

Will65 I'm with you for the most part but I genuinely enjoy SLR's content, so I am probably just going to take a step back from the forums before he bans me for calling him unprofessional some more.

Will65 it seems like you have the winning recipe. I look forward to your artisan porn company.

It’s easy to have idea, but it’s very hard to turn an idea into a successful product.

Nobody is giving this shit away for free. Of course the object is to make money, and cost cutting is one way to do that but given the level of innovation going onto the SLR platform and tooling they don’t seem like they are cost cutting to me.

RockyMtHigh what about customers who are rude to said business owners? How do you feel about them? Do they have a right to be rude or should they participate in civil discourse and air their grievances in a productive manner - or better yet, provide solutions to problems they see rather than direct attacks on the character or others?

Personally I’m surprised you are still in the forum given some of the rude and unproductive comments I see you post. I’ve banned customers from my product’s forum for similar behavior.

The best advice I ever got was “don’t come to me with problems, only come to me with solutions.”Perhaps if you see a problem try coming with a way to solve that problem rather than a frustrated attack?

Sperson they don’t really have a right to or not to be rude. I agree that discourse is best. That said, Business owners should know how to communicate (or simply ignore) rude commentary. It’s really not that hard to politely reply to critique.

That’s what I’m talking about, not the product or anything, he’s just a bad look. The solution is to be kind and stop trolling his own customers lol. That’s not a crazy idea, it’s common business acumen.

I’m a business owner as well, seeing how he and others interact with paying customers aka the most important people to a business is unacceptable. I wouldn’t have it in my company, but I am careful who I hire for PR. If you honestly don’t see issues with his communication style, I guess we can just agree to disagree.

I don’t really care anymore tbh, his response to me mentioning professionalism was to fuck off, so I think it’s a lost cause and I’m just going to use this site for its intended purpose lol.

LordCrash I agree, sometimes a little more context may be helpful in understanding the thought process. What the problem to be solved or feature to be added, why it’s important to us the users, and what feedback they are looking for from us.

Unless that is the purpose of these threads is simply to generate conversation and see where things go organically then separate the wheat from the chaff (productive suggestions, from the negative comments) because I mean you look at some of these threads @doublevr can easily generate 100 comments in a couple days from only posting a sentence or two, and even if only 5-10 of those are productive it’s still generating useful data.

RockyMtHigh given your statement that they (the customer) don’t really have the right to be rude, then I challenge you to back through your comment history and review some of your comments. Perhaps some of your opinions may have provoked the types of responses you dislike.

With the location of the company I’m guessing @doublevr may be ESL and sometimes the context of the question could be lost in translation.

And to be clear, I’m not a business owner, I am a software Product Manager for a very large software company that you may have heard of.

Sperson let me rephrase, no matter how rude a customer is, business owners should have the soft skills to communicate with them, or the maturity to ignore. Maybe that’s not expected in this industry, idk.

If you disagree, that’s fine. People operate businesses differently. If it is an ESL thing, he should learn from the hundreds of comments he receives from multiple people about how his lack of explanation just made it look bad.

Silly conversation for a porn site though, I’m out, have a good one.
