fenderwq I had read somewhere that Pimax was going to make the 12K work on their own site instead of steam. That scares me if that is true. The up side to the 12K is that it is going to have passthrough.

      i download some 8k clips and noticed that in deovr it looks some better than the picos player...
      and the passthrough clips even better...

      im wondering if it is possible just to change and replace the 16megapixel camera with some higher megapixel and get so higher resolution ? would passthrough quality get even better ? would that work ?

      the picos passthrough is not bad but there much space to improve when it comes to resolution and quality and light...i believe the 16megapixel just not enough for that...

      or im wrong about that ? and 16 megapixel are enough ?

          mnmlikereal The difference is the UK Value Added Tax, (V.A.T.) which you don't pay because you are in Canada. You will in all likelihood pay import/sales tax of some description at the other end.

            idk rly how to explain that but compared to normal vr 4k or 8k clips the passthrough clips and the girls in the passthrough mode just looks better...more detail...which results in more immersiveness and if use the hack by @alina with removed faceplate it even more better... ^^

            if just the rbg camera would be same good quality like the girls then this would be just more amazing and mind blowing...

              Have you tried putting the pass-through on, and adjust the picture settings like brightness or sharpness, I was wondering if that would help blend the models into your real background environment?

                Guys, so it's possible to install deovr on Pico4 and use it to play videos from this website? If yes, can it be done without a PC? I don't have any USB-C connector on my computer. Is there APK to install directly on the headset? Thanks

                  some say that pico store has deovr but if you can't find it there...

                  then use this method:

                  https://github.com/SideQuestVR/Lite/releases

                  you can type this this in pico browser...
                  then download from there "app-release.apk"
                  after install it and you have now sidequest on your pico 4.

                  then open the sidequest app and go to that link on pc or smartphone and type that code.
                  just follow what it says there...
                  account needed on sidequest.

                  after everything should work inside pico 4 and you can update sidequest from that sidequest app and download deovr and other stuff from there...

                  if install fails of an apk then just "allow install unknown apps" in that popup warning...
                  then just reopen sidequest and try download/install deovr again.

                          jaede just select the video you want to watch and make sure the drop down for resolution is at the highest. The new update already defaults pico to h.265 so you shouldn’t have to do anything else. Everything has been made as easy as possible thanks to Deo and SLR, thanks and Merry XXXmas!

                              alina thx sir but i test it and i find the normal vr player from pico 4 the standard is the best, i have installed vr videos with 4k and on the normal pico player looks it the best with the 3d effekt, better then deovr player

                                the problem is on vr porn videos on my pico 4 when the girl come to near to the video because then is the quality bad its a 3d vr 180 degree and the lenses are already adjusted very tightly but the actress is still blurred when she gets close to the picture what can I do about it ?

                                Got mine from XRshop in November. You'll pay about $50Cad in duties. XR was fine, they sent it about a week after the order. I think they got a lot of flack from being overwhelmed with orders and customers wanting their unit like 5 years before launch.

                                It's a great little unit. Very light and balanced. The DeoVR is a bit of an improvement over the native player via file manager, so don't sweat it if DeoVR is still finicky. (Download the videos onto your computer then transfer to pico)

                                For passthrough, DNLA and websites like SLR, DeoVR is a must. Setup a Sidequest account then load the link above on the pico browser

                                You'll get a kick out of the video "Open Borders: O Canada" starring Isabelle Reese. Take a look in the background set decorations. Hilarious! Stuff only a Canuck will recognize. It's like the show "Outer Limits" every shot had a hockey puck hidden somewhere.

                                  so the chinese can watch me masturbate now too, meaning I got a pico 4 and I like it. Its not a huge leap from the Q2 but the lenses are def. better, the FOV is too and image quality is also great. all in all id say its a Q2+, still some issues on the software side but also nice to see a pretty barebone android OS running on it.. hopefully not too much bytedance spyware.

                                  Stefan23121 The proportions are not quite right. But it has been significantly improved with the last update. The resolution of the Pico 4's passthrough is higher than that of the Quest Pro, but the 3D view is supposed to be better on the Quest Pro.

                                  I been seeing reviews some users say the pass-through on pico doesn't look 3d-ish or they saying things look further cuz pico using one camera for pt.

                                  So now I'm debating on getting it.
