I got it running on the Pico 4 through SideQuest and the color passthrough feature itself works great, but haven't quite figured out the trick to getting a good key with the new passthrough algorithm yet.

EDIT: Just saw the other thread and realized I'm late to the algorithm discussion. Anyway, the Pico app works great despite the challenges I'm having with the new passthrough algorithm, and when I can get a good passthrough, the color makes it awesome. The Pico headset is much more comfortable than the Quest 2 IMO also.

Hey, I’m pretty new to this and been struggeling hard to get the slr app onto my Pico 4.
could you possibly explain to me, how I set this up? You said sidequest. How does that work?

      doublevr
Takes me to the site but nowhere do I see the process of how I get the slr app to work on my pico 4. excuse me but I have zero idea of what I have to do 😃

Assuming you have a desktop/laptop, what I did was go to https://sidequestvr.com/setup-howto, on the right-hand under ‘Advanced Installer Tutorial’ play the video and follow instructions as if it’s an Oculus Quest. The developer mode is different, but the quick video here shows how to enable it: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/g-Ce-jlRAq8
The app works, but anything over 2800 won’t play smoothly, hope the Pico 4 store release solves this.

doublevr lol, well I’d also recommend the Varjo too then if price point is out the question. Also that article was posted prior to Pico 4 DeoVr app available so not really a fair comparison.

underwriter see above in thread as you have to play videos in H265 then it’ll run silky smooth at all resolution even higher than 2800. I can watch 4000 and it’s smooth like butter.

alina Thanks, I've tried looking to change this, but can't find it, where should I look to change this please?

underwriter Yep, found it! For those looking: in DeoVR call the playback panel and to the right of it there's an icon with the play symbol and a cog set in, click this and then in the 'Quick Settings' you can select the resolution and to the right is a drop down for the codec, select H265 and all will be well in the world.

My two penneth worth: Better than OQ, the field of view is much better, it's far more comfortable to wear, the OQ really sits hard on your hooter after a while. I've also had no problem with light leakage. Video looks excellent, I think you can dial it in more than the OQ.

Cloudkicker I had some trouble doing it through my PC because I couldn't get the SideQuest application to recognize my Pico, so I downloaded the SideQuest app from the Pico store on my Pico and installed it through that (so no PC required)

i had same trouble with pc and windows 10...pico don't get recognized for some reason.
but i had sidequest already on windows 11 installed and there it worked without problem.

maybe its windows version or bad sidequest update version...

hey, i will buy my first VR for porn videos and to play some games for pc or only with the vr glass, i have vr movies on my computer and i can make it on my exterm ssd and conecct it with a usb c on the vr, which vr u recommanded, the pico or meta quest 2 ?
                thx for help

jaede comparing meta quest 2 to a pico 4 is laughable. Get the pico 4 you won’t regret it.

i have buy today meta quest 2 i hope it was not a false buy

doublevr The Quest pro might be better but the benefits over the Pico 4 for another
£1000 are not worth it in my opinion. The DeoVR app for the Pico works really well.
