argyle43 Eight years ago (2014) was during the thin mosaic glory days tied in with some great big group movies. The new law has made group shooting an idle wish though with recent events showing the law possibly being amended, one's hopes can raise for more movies akin to the Zukkon glory days (or in a worst case situation, I can certainly see uncensored JAV eventually picking up the slack as it already did in the early 2010's albeit with lesser known names).
SLR JAV Originals
ZENRA I don't think Melody is the problem here but the whole production. And Melody is just an example for that.

Natch That's not an answer to the question.

LordCrash I think that's the exact answer. There is a difference in how VR is approached in Japan and the rest of the world.
There, there is always a movie script with scenes and dialogues (whether it is good or bad script is another thing) and the girls behave, talk and dress like ordinary girls. And those dialogues are in the sex scenes, too.
Here they dress, make-up and behave in a very different way (I personally can't deal with the tons of makeup and absurd false eyelashes). And once the sex starts it's just that, with different variations of "Fuck, yes fuck, shit!" or "Oh my god!".
The result is very different, and that is perfectly seen in this film shot in Japan, compared to those shot in the USA or Europe with Melody.

Natch I prefer European porn. Much less of the typical porn talk you see from big US studios without the disadvantages of censored video. But some users are very conditioned to US productions and even complain about the look of the models if they don't have fake tits and the typical porn makeup.
Funnily enough, I have noticed that the very extreme cases with particularly overdone silicone breasts in the MILF/GILF area have at least understood that less is more when it comes to porn talk. As a result, some of my favorite US videos are with models that I really shouldn't like because of the fake boobs.

Philip Do Japanese users really have a preference for censored videos, or wouldn't they be happy to get around that by signing up to a site outside of Japan?
The model is already from the West, so the only reason for the censorship is probably the Japanese crew. Thus, the question is, why can't a US/European crew mimic the style and make such content available to all users in an uncensored form?
I'm from Germany, and when a lot of censored video games were released here 10-20 years ago, I didn't hope that US companies would produce censored games as well, but did what was necessary to import the uncensored games from other countries.
So I don't think this censorship is really necessary to address the Japanese market - unless you want to sell the material through local distribution - which would also be strange in an age of worldwide digital distribution through the internet.
We don't have that censorship in Germany anymore (even display of swastika is allowed in many cases) for that reason. It became clear that censorship by regional rules doesn't work in a modern world of digital distribution.
I know Japan is a bit slow in terms of Internet related developments, yet this doesn't seem to me to be a forward looking business model to adapt to the local Japanese market.
Offering comparable content without censorship seems to me to be a much more appealing goal that offers a unique selling point - not only for the Japanese market, but for a worldwide audience.
my own USE of material probably goes 86.5 percent jav stuff...censored crap and all.
a hot chick doing what millions do in the clips...doesn't move the needle. they need to be closer and really use the VR aspect of it all...become pleasantly surprised when i can get something useful out of the many many i click on of the NON-jav side of things. those are the 30-60 second USEABLE portions that the users are clicking on all the time
maybe see what they are...and make sure they are in all scenes.
Can't wait for the second slr jav original film.
Great! Hazel Moore is so beautiful, and will be awesome to watch her JAV Style...
I thought the point of having JAV directors was so they could teach Americans how to shoot better immersion with Japanese stars and WITHOUT censorship. Instead its JAV directors shooting American actors WITH censorship. It sounds like the worst of both worlds too me. Just a thought, maybe if SLR is having so much trouble with money that they are cutting downloads then maybe just maybe stop spending it on making dildo machines and studios all over the world.

Yepp. It's actually the worst they could do.
I remember that the original argument for censored porn in Japan was that they couldn't shoot Japanese talent any other way. I were not aware that Melody and Hazel were Japanese and that SLR wasn't able to shoot with them any other way though...
I also remember the comments that they couldn't (or didn't want to) shoot with European talent because they had no European studio. Apparently it's not an issue shooting American talent in Japan though. One would think that flying US pornstars to Japan wasn't more costly than flying European pornstars to the US but what do I know. Let's just waste precious American talent - literally two of the most requested pornstars ever on pretty much any VR porn board in this case - to fucking censorship. Just great.
Maybe SLR should open a new studio in Saudi Arabia next where the women had to wear a burqa the whole time. I'm pretty sure they have hot women over there but that's all you can do with them so let's just roll with that. But wait, why not shooting top American talent in full body burqa instead? Sounds like a great idea, don't you agree?
You guys are hating too much, but it's easy to hate things you don't understand, so I'll refrain from any further discussions, let's just say these videos are not shot for a western audience

I hate censorship, that's correct. Problem is that you don't understand that. Or in other words, you don't care because money. It's just that simple. And yes, no discussion needed about that, it's 100% obvious for everyone.
