  • Comments hidden and disabled on perVRt scenes that are completely broken?

Aerowen Hey, I'm not saying you're wrong. I agree, broken videos should be fixed.

Hey guys. We hear you.

I've taken a look at a recent scene and can see exactly what is meant by "completely broken". I've spoken to my more technical colleagues who had advised that:

Video is off due to horizontal offset. In setting u can set horizontal offset to -5 and it will be watchable.

So if you are a fan of this studio, this is a temporary fix.

Temporary fixes are of course not enough, so we are also contacting the studio to ask them to fix the files. We're also looking into solutions to let you report issues even when a studio doesn't want to allow comments.

Also, THANK YOU for your enthusiasm and commitment to making sure that the platform is the best it can be.

Now I get the whole point, users would like to complain about quality issues, but comments are closed for that creator.

We are following up with him. Also "Report" button is coming.

I'm so glad something is being done about that guy. Release after release, nothing but bad angles, broken focus, crackling audio, and overall disappointing experience. And that's just the technical issues. The scenes themselves are also terrible, but I understand this is a matter of taste. The only saving grace is that he manages to book some phenomenal performers, but even that leads to many disappointments when paired with this guy.

It's honestly surprising that SLR still carries such a shitty studio. It's bringing down the quality of the site in general. Bandwidth and CDN waste.

Helpline3777 It's not my favorite studio, but as long as payment depends on views, it's good to have that kind of amateur and semi-professional content and variation.

If a studio doesn't find an audience and doesn't get views, they will soon be gone. No need for additional regulation by SLR.

Of course this doesn't mean that technically broken videos should be allowed. They should at least be reported and removed - even better would be some kind of basic quality control before content is shown to users.

Helpline3777 Algorithms are set to eliminate such content from users. @AntonVR make sure we have this logic in place.

Report button will be coming soon. That should better address things like that.

I get nothing but nice comments on my videos but I still think it's valid for a creator to turn them off if they want to. As a fan, I love being able to communicate directly with producers but I can't begrudge someone who just wants to make stuff and put it out into the world and hope someone likes it.

(Though, yeah, being able to report technical glitches is a good thing.)

P.S.: I mean, I wouldn't turn them off because I crave the validation, but I'm just an inherently flawed human being, so...

I don't get the complaints. If you don't like the studio, just remove/block from your feed. Problem solved. Stop trying to promote cancel-culture.

For my part, I enjoy this studio's work. Sure, some scenes are flawed, but it's an amateur/independent studio. On the plus side, he comes with content that is less phony/contrived and sometimes quite passionate.

Aerowen This is a complaint that at least is valid. If there are complaints focused on technical issues, that's completely different than people who are simply hating. Even still, with technical issues, it's that studio and SLR's loss if they don't address and fix. So the motivation is there for them to take a look.

For my part, I'd make it known there is a technical issue and then I'd move on. If people are complaining over and over again, that sounds like people who just want to be miserable.

Mutiny the thing with this guy is that he absolutely doesnt care one bit whether people like his content or not. from comments he made in the past it was clear that his primary reason for producing vids was basically that he gets to personally fuck a new hottie every day.

he doesnt care about improving his content in any way. from his perspective the only thing that matters is making enough money to continue doing what he does. as long as his content is getting some minimal amount of views on slr and making him enough money to continue i dont think he will ever make any significant effort to improve.

in terms of the number of vids he puts out he is the most prolific producer on slr. i think he is actually gaming slr's revenue share model by doing lots of shorter vids. my thinking is that he gets more vids listed on peoples feeds that way and it results in more views and more minutes watched and therefore more earnings. he is probably able to make more money with less effort that way. i wish slr would come up with a way to push producers like him to improve.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarity. I was speaking in general terms about managing one's own creative outlet, but I gotcha.

(To be fair, I think prostitution should be regulated and legal, but that's a whole other thing. )

              Aesthetic criticism is also valid.

Also, if the guy is an asshole that's yet another valid reason to avoid his content.

An alternative explanation could be that they want to make their opinions heard. It doesn't necessarily mean they want to be miserable.

So then avoid the content and move on. If you're not moving on, that says more about you then him.

If you wanted to make your opinion heard you would be done.
