Its not even the the edges but it gets blurrier the farther you look from the middle of what the camera taped. Since you can just look around more in the pimax i start to get motion sick. To me the last camera was the best Image quality I have ever seen plus the scenes they shot with it. I would say the last 6 months before they switched the camera that that was the best run of video making any VR company as had. That's why to me it pained me so much to just stop and then just start all over with new company's and lenses. Please go back to perfection.
SLR Originals is getting back to 8K Canon production
I'm sad to hear this. I don't think the camera is the issue. other studios use the same camera but dont have the weird stretched feeling. If i would guess it's the 190 FOV or some other processing. BTW I have 60 IPD and it looks too big especially for me vertically too. So the problem is not the IPD of the camera.
Unfortunate, but the right decision. Your casting is out of this world at the moment but the Canon is letting you down. As others have suggested maybe it's possible to shoot some BTS content with the Canon and seek community feedback. Tweaking as you go...

g2kbuffetboy For me, the bump in visual picture quality is awesome in my Pimax 8KX. The new 8K videos are noticeably sharper and colors are better too. I really was excited when these new 8K canon videos started to rollout.
This. I'm so fed up with all the people with their low-budget headsets and cheap players who claim that there wasn't a bump in visual quality. Even in my mid-tier G2 with HeresphereVR it's so damn obvious and I can only imagine how good it must look in a Pimax.

Which companies do you mean? I guarantee you that at least CzechVR and WankzVR look better and more crisp than 6k SLR. Nothing perfect about the old rig.

I have a G2 too, and I agree that at least some of the Canon videos look better, qualitywise. It's the girls that look like giants that totally ruins it for me.
gurphh Giants? They look like slightly bigger than in most other scenes if you use the correct settings (Fisheye, 190°). But I guess things are either great or ruined these days, no middle ground to be found anywhere...
LordCrash I do use correct settings, and I've tried both DeoVR and HereSphere. I realize the scale thing isn't very important to some. But yes, for me, personally, videos where the girls are this big really are ruined for me. I'd never watch any of them. So wanting slightly lower quality visuals instead of that is a no-brainer for me. Personally.

Octavia looked perfectly fine in her latest 8k SLRO scene. It was imho pretty much one of the best scene I've seen in quite a while, finally Octavia in all her glory. I love that the girls seem to be a big "bitter" actually, that way you can fully enjoy their glorious bodies, especially such an exceptional one like Octavia's. Not sure what's so great about tiny models who hardly fill 10% of the screen before me on a "traditional" old-school cam. You call that "realistic"? Fuck realism. This is better than reality. I almost instantly came when I saw Octavia in cowgirl in this scene, so insanely hot and sexy. It's imho easily her best scene yet by a far margin, due to her performance, due to the amazing direction, due to the intimacy and due to the camera word AND the tech. The time Octavia spent on "full screen" detailed cock sucking, egg sucking and dick licking was simply breathtaking. I can't imagine a better angle or "size" for that stuff, it's simply perfect that way. It's such a shame that we now go back to the old, out-dated and comparably worse setup. There was no focus issue in this scene with Octavia at all imho and video clarity was phenomenal. It was imho simply perfect.
So please, for the love of God, before you scrap the new cam and cave in to the "old school" guys on their oudated headsets, please shoot at least one last scene with Melody Marks on the new cam, just like the one with Octavia. Let's just call it "Making it up to you, part 2".
Stop staying "old school guys on their outdated headsets". You're basically straw manning legitimate complaints about the new camera as cheapskates who don't know how to play 190 videos.
Just look at "The Pool Boy" video. Look how many people have issues with scaling. The girls there look like giants. At one point, I tried to put my hand where Skylar's hands were and then alternate between headset / real life. Her hands look almost twice as big as mine. This is immersion-breaking and basically ruined the scene.
For me, the best VR videos are those that trick my brain into thinking I'm there in the scene. The best way to break this immersion is by having bad scaling. When girls look giant or tiny, it instantly tells my brain that I'm looking at projections and takes me straight out of it.
I would love for SLR to fix the issues with the new camera. However, they should do it on the side and not at the expense of good casting as they've done recently. The last month has been a complete waste with 80 per cent of the scenes being unwatchable either due to poor scaling or poor focus.

So, you admit the scale is larger than life.
You enjoy the scale being larger than real life? Great. That’s perfectly fine. I have no problem with that. But please don’t insist that others that don’t like it are wrong. And somehow living in the past with their antiquated headsets.
I think most people want the scale to be true to life. Unfortunately, the Canon rig doesn’t provide that. At least for my IPD. And I use the same headset as you.
As far as Octavia’s scene. The scale wasn’t too bad during the first part of the scene. When she was at farther distances, she looked slightly too large. But it wasn’t extreme. But on the bed. When the action was close up…GigantorVision. Which was probably your favorite part! 
Anyways, I’m not trying to pick a fight with you. If you like the larger than life scale. More power to you. But I think there are enough people that don’t like it, that SLR can’t continue using the Canon rig at this time.

You do realize that's just a matter of taste, right? I'm (sadly) almost only attracted to girls of the more slender type. Tall or short doesn't matter that much. But I still wouldn't want them to look more slim than they really are.
Also, you got the above wrong. The girls take up the same percentages of the screen on both cameras. The difference is that on the Canon, the girls appear to be further away than they really are, which makes the brain think they are bigger.
