  • Body positive casting thread πŸ‘©

withy Thanks for your input, and I do genuinely mean that. I personally disagree with a good chunk of it, but that's ok. And you've made your opinion clear.

But for now I'd like to get this thread back on track, so here's a few more from our shoot with Chloe Surreal, whose immensely popular reddit post was a big part of what prompted this request for suggestions in the first place.

And maybe a few more pics will get the suggestion juices flowing:

I kinda miss the "positive" aspect of being overweight.
Quite the opposite, obesity is a huge health problem affecting seriously high numbers of the western population.

And while of course everybody can live however the want and only have to justify their lifestyle to their own body, those should not be promoted in public, especially not under euphemisms like "positivity", just as you should not publicly promote smoking or excessive consumption of other legal or illegal drugs.

ibins this thread has nothing to do with societal issues. People have different tastes in porn. Get over it.

ibins There's no question that obesity is a huge problem in society, but the idea of "body positivity" is just that no one should feel ashamed or "less-than" because of the body they inhabit. Not every large person is unhealthy, and even if they were, they still deserve love and respect (and to get railed on camera if they so choose).

Aesthetics/sexual preferences/fetishes aside, "body positivity" is just about being kind to people no matter how they're shaped.

(Edit: to be clear, I know there are people in the "fat acceptance" movement that are "pro-fat", which is not the same thing.)

TBH as much as i am huge fan of curvy, curvier, bbw, ssbbw etc (literally the 1st catgories i look at when i log in) i was not a fan of the phrase body positive as the name of curvy girls thread.
I have always disliked it just because the whole body positivity movement/ideaolgy allways seem to be aimed at positivity for curvier people.

Untill i read this excellent statement.
        Mutiny
Very well put. You changed my mind. πŸ˜€

In this day and age and being adults we should be positive about everyones body shapes/types, and if something is not to your tastes grow up suck it up and keep scrolling.

for what its worth - If the regular TV screen "adds 20 pounds" then 3D VR doesnt - it just makes some well proportioned curves jump out in their full awesomeness

Mutiny "body positivity" seems to be largely about obese women attempting to normalize obesity and make it something that is more socially acceptable. theres a lot of pressure on women to look a certain way and instead of taking the hint from society and working to improve themselves or accepting the reality, these women convince themselves that its normal and okay and then try to spread that view. its a basically a coping mechanism to deal with the discrimination they face.

Mutiny There's no question that obesity is a huge problem in society, but the idea of "body positivity" is just that no one should feel ashamed or "less-than" because of the body they inhabit.

Nobody and especially not me said that anyone should be ashamed of their body or for the matter what kind of body types they like.
Anyone obese might still be a very kind and likable person, actually some of the nicest people I know are overweight, and of course I still like them and enjoy their company.
But this makes not the fact that they are overweight in any way positive. They are likable and respected people, because body shape is not only thing that defines a human person. And every person on this planet has good and bad features, but this does not mean being overweight suddenly is a good feature.

You do not walk to an overweight friend and tell him/her, how glad you are how many kilos they have. You generally simply ignore it and talk about whatever are your common interests, the only thing you might say if the topic of body weight is unavoidable that you do not care.

To me it seems the "body positivity movement" started with good intentions that not anyone has to be thin like a spaghetti. Which generally was good, as lets face it there exists problems in the other direction as well, where people getting eating disorders because they wanna be spaghetti thin but their genes do not allow it.
But in todays world, while eating disorders of course should not be ignored, the other way is way more serious with extremely obese people being over 20% in some areas in this world and mildly overweight approaching 50%.

Now the "movement" has been taken over to make overweight as the new accepted "normal", and if you do not follow this you are just a bad person not accepting people how they are.

dojimmy You changed my mind. πŸ˜€

A mind was changed?!? This may be the first time that's ever happened on the internet. πŸ˜€
Thanks for your message. Appreciate ya.

spacepirate theres a lot of pressure on women to look a certain way and instead of taking the hint from society and working to improve themselves or accepting the reality

I hear you, but to be fair, if we all took the hint from society porn wouldn't exist. Society loves to condemn from its mouth what it's hiding behind its back.

And we all have places we can grow. Maybe what, for you, would just be about a lack of self control is, for someone else, a real symptom of clinical depression. Emotional eating to mask pain is a bitch. Believe me, I know.

spacepirate a coping mechanism to deal with the discrimination they face

That feels like a valid thing to me. We all get one ride on this rock, so if someone needs a coping mechanism to make it more pleasant, I say let 'em have it. (So long as it doesn't hurt others, which, I recognize is the struggle we're all having with this topic. Encouraging other people to do unhealthy things is not great.)

ibins Nobody and especially not me said that anyone should be ashamed of their body or for the matter what kind of body types they like.

It's clear from all your replies your concern is the health and well-being of others, and I fully respect that. I should have quoted you so I could clarify what I was responding to.

              ibins euphemisms like "positivity"

This is the part that prompted my message, which was just to define what I mean when I use that word. Not as a euphemism, but as an attitude of kindness and positivity toward everyone, regardless of how they're shaped. (Same as I would for their skin color or who they love or what they do for a living.)

I did mention the difference between "body positivity" and "fat acceptance" which is kind of the same thing but also not, because humans have a bad habit of drawing a circle around a group of people and saying "this is what they believe". Three people never agree on a pizza order, so how are 50,000 all supposed to believe exactly the same thing?

In every big movement, there are people on one side who say "Yeah, maybe we should change this a little bit" and people on the other side who are like, "Let's burn the whole world down and start over" and many, many more people somewhere in between.

If we draw a big circle around the "body positivity/fat acceptance" movement, there are people who are loudly PRO-FAT, and I do not agree with them. But there are people, like me, who just believe we should welcome fat people into our lives and enjoy them as humans (like you mentioned you do) without making them feel ashamed for the way they look. (And it's a beautiful thing to be supportive for someone who is ready to make a healthy change. But we can't push them into that. They have to be ready for their own reasons.)

My position is just...Listen to people who live in a large body. See what their experience is like. Empathize with them. I think, if people do that, they'll want to step into that "body positivity" circle, and find their own place in it.

Mutiny Most are unhealthy though. I’m tired of people using the β€œthey’re not all unhealthy BS argument. I have a thyroid condition I’m not morbidly obese. This is a porn site the fact that β€œbody positivity” was used clearly implies a narrative being pushed, and trying to use us to push it. How about more Black male scenes were we’re not used for a cuck fetish or to help some girl cheat. There’s hundreds of girls that fall under what the mods consider β€œbig” the site just has terrible tagging. We come here to jerk off not to protest.

What's next? Midgets? Amputee porn? I mean, c'mon, we need to adress every single niche ever at SLR.

BeltManFen How about more Black male scenes were we’re not used for a cuck fetish or to help some girl cheat.

                  100% agree with this.

                  withy What's next?

I'm genuinely asking this...what does an ideal release schedule on here look like for you? As a content partner I want to get a sense of the types and varieties people want to see. Can't please everyone all the time of course, but what does a great content calendar look like from your perspective?

RockyMtHigh That doesn’t make any sense. I’m not body shaming shit. We’re talking about women who literally get naked, face fucked and more on camera. I’m pretty sure they’re comfortable with their body, fool.
