  • 190-degree fish-eye is NOT supported on Oculus GO

I checked with my more technically inclined colleagues and have been told that both of these scenes should be working fine. Have you downloaded them? If you have can you check the filenames for me? They should end with _fisheye190.mp4. The SLR app and Deo will both detect this and should play them correctly automatically. If that is missing try changing the ending to that and let me know how you get on.

Polar they play fine when downloaded; the ability to choose and switch between viewing modes is there. The issue here is streaming, which currently locks you into a 2D viewing experience. </TLDR>

It’s especially frustrating because streaming offers a greater range of quality options to choose between, but in this case streaming is broken.

Downloads these days only allow choice between 4K or 8K, and the 4K file for these is pretty crummy indeed - extremely compressed. It used to be nice being able to grab a 5K file and playing it at a slower speed but those days are now gone too.

I suppose the answer is going to come down from the top: “too bad, upgrade your headset.” I actually already do have a Quest 2, but I stopped using it for VR Porn almost immediately after I bought it. I love my Go. It is comfortable, the viewing FOV has a larger sweet spot, and it still has plenty of life in it. I for one hate (and bitterly resent) having choices taken away from me.

Hopefully an improved Quest will come out soon, or better still Apple will release the mother of all wireless headsets and then I’ll choose to upgrade on my own terms. Until then I’ll keep using my Go and I’ll just have to wait to fully experience these new format of SLRO scenes. First world problem, hardly going to scream about it, but the sour taste remains as it did on the DLNA issue… But then I take my Go and go watch a perfectly crisp CVR scene on Pigasus via DLNA and the smile returns to my face. There’s still plenty out there from which to choose. </rant>

Doesn't work on Skybox or DEO. Looks like your business decision is telling me to go away - and I will unless you fix the problem on your end.

Today’s scene. Once again, will only stream in 2D mode. Downloaded the 4K file which will play in Deo app on Go, but it’s oddly distorted. Thankfully Pigasus seems to be rendering it just fine though. Scale is slightly oversized, but that’s likely in the scene itself and the crew still needs to optimize the IPD and/or other settings on the new rig. Good lord what a scene though. Girls are just ridiculously gorgeous. Difficult for my brain to process that much hotness all in front of me like that. Just top, top, top shelf casting.

argyle43 I still have a GO and tried swapping the _FISHEYE190 out with _MXK200 in the filename and letting Deo handle it. Maybe it was just a placebo but I thought it was better than manually setting it to 180 sbs fisheye. Not perfect but an improvement.

mkx200 should fit well, not gonna be perfect but watchable for sure

argyle43 But then I take my Go and go watch a perfectly crisp CVR scene on Pigasus via DLNA and the smile returns to my face.

          Amen, brother! 😁

Wait, so this is a problem on the Quest2 as well? I have no problem with upgrading from my Go when Meta removes forced marriage with Facebook, but if I can't stream with the Quest2 either... Sure I can (and will) download SOME files, but on-demand streaming is a great feature.

It is not just GO. I have Quest2 and I cannot watch these few new 190 degree videos either because of this same reason. Should there be a button somewhere within SLR App (or DeoVR) to change the viewing mode for these videos?

At least these new videos have this problem:
            https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/ten-to-one-pov-27972
            https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/ten-to-one-non-pov-27387

I've checked both of these videos in Deo using a Quest 2 and confirm that they are streaming correctly in 3D. If you are experiencing issues specifically streaming in the Quest 2 please make sure you are running the most up-to-date version of Deo or the SLR App. If that still doesn't remedy the situation drop support a line.

Thanks. Quest2 purchase upcoming in August then. Looking forward to the new Blake Blossom foursome with improved visuals!

No most likely he did not upgrade the app for ages.

I'm just wondering, what is so great about 190 degree that you're willing to drop a portion of your viewer base, when you've already been releasing 200 degree videos which work great on Oculus GO?

I see, thanks. So there's still hope that some day you'll switch to a camera with 8k+ and 200/220 deg.
A workaround to consider would be to convert the 190 deg 2160p vids into 200 deg with black margins on the sides, but I guess that would be too messy.

The lens most likely has different characteristics, that requires a different transformation profile, which is included in the updated apps.

Downloads now play well in Skybox. DeoVR is still a mess and the Go offers no details in regards to version other than being up to date. Please note that 10 to 1 played like curved spacetime when it was first released but does now. It's OK but I've also noticed that the quality of the playback seems appears to have taken a step back. It looks like something shot 5 or 6 years ago. Perhaps it was the lighting.

Note: The previous message was wrong 100% and was edited - well, actually deleted. DeoVR may be looking for fisheye, not FISHEYE. Just a thought.
