  • Interactive videos: Yay or Nay?

Its on their main page under Playlists, and if I remember it right when watching any video you have an "add to" option to add it to which ever of your playlists your working on. then you can go to the playlist page where you can trim parts of each scene or multiple parts, and from as many scenes as you want, then stream it as 1 video, it was a while ago i last used it but I think I am remembering it all correctly.
Then you have the option to publish the playlist for just yourself or everyone either anonymously or with your user name.

as for the software used I'm not sure, I don't remember it being branded though it could have been, it was just part of the site.

      Interactive videos: Yay!

      When it comes to "choose your own adventure" style videos, there is a lot of opportunity depending on the execution.
      Dezyred, as an example, has some decisions that are about the content you want to see next (e.g blowjob or striptease), but also some dialogues where you need to "say" the right things in order to hit on a girl.

      Also, do you know Netflix's "Black Mirror: Bandersnatch"? It's an interactive movie on Netflix, but it's really well done.
      The movie won't stop when you have to make a choice. It goes on and blends over into the next video without any notable cuts or breaks.
      If you don't make a choice until the current clip ends, it will autoselect something and then again seamlessly blend over.

      Maybe you can find out how they are doing it, because I think this seemless integration could bring VR-cyoa videos to another level.

        It would be great to start something like lifeselector.com does. Damn, they know hot to do it. Would be great for VR

        Loahrs I like the idea of this, but it sounds like it would be a nightmare to actually program, and would definitely make CYOA content slow to produce. It would be a hell of a Experience though, and I could see somewhere down the line using AI to achieve just this.

          doublevr I don't think things have to be filmed specifically for it. It's going to work just great even with current videos.

          Then I would not really call that interactive.

          Sure there would be some benefit to preprogram "chapters", but my understanding from interactive would be something different.

          This already starts in the pre-sex conversation where you might have different answers that change the outcome of the conversation. Or the girl asks you if you rather have a blowjob or fuck her tits.
          Obviously all this forks of the scene would have to be shot to have a consistent footage.

          An example would be dezyred, which does exactly this, or in the flat world lifeselector.
          Virtualrealporn also did scenes like that years ago, but the problem was it only did really work with streaming and back then streaming was resolution wise even worse than downloads. For some reason they did stop once technology got to a point you actually could recognize something on the screen.

          Virtualrealporn generally had a strange regression into mediocrity. I think they have been one of the first if not the first site to shoot 3k, they have been the first in de VR world to do interactive stories, they have been the first with integrated toy synchronizaton. And then it suddenly stopped, they took forever to upgrade to 5k, interactives are completely gone, the only thing that came back are the toys.

              Sounds definitely like an interesting idea. The problem always for me with VR porn is the lack of me being in charge of where and how the fuckening happens. This could add more in to immersion of being there as something other than a ragdoll. I for example love reverse cowgirl pose in VR and someone might like a softer approach to sex instead of just going all in from 0 to 100.

              That's why the VR game, virt-a-mate accompanied with the easier to use automated mod, VamX appeals to me. Still it's such a chore to use so I often just end up watching VR porn.

              It's all about immersion: Proper sharp image, good audio and being in charge of my own body movements. VR games without the 2 controllers used to simulate hands would be totally unimmersive for me. Can't wait for some kind of Vsr gloves to become the new norm for all VR games one day, not just the porn games, I do like some good shooting around with friends in VR. Great fun 🙂

              I got a little carried there but as I said, sounds interesting and I'm willing to give this a try and please script the interactive ones as well 😉 need that part of immersion as well.

              doublevr Depends on the execution. I'm all in for interactive scene on the level of Life Selector Europe. That's the real deal.

              And I would also actually like a narrator, just like Life Selector Europe does it. This completely silent stuff in VR gets imho more and more boring by the day and it would be especially bad in more connected storyines, spanning across multiple scenes...

                  LordCrash I think they are just talking about you being able to skip to different parts of the scene and adding in some text. They aren’t talking about purposely made stuff like Life Selector. The scenes themselves will be no different to what they are now, you’ll just be able to manipulate it to skip past the parts you’re not interested in and then throw a screen on with some text on so it feels like an interactive scene. It’s just a fun additional feature rather than them actually making specific interactive scenes where your responses can change the path of the scene (to some degree).

                      petermc Too bad. I actually thought they would finally come up with an interesting feature and not only with some pointless gimmick.

                        I want to use this feature not as a role-playing game, but to be able to create my own custom chapters for the best moments of my favorite scenes. Then this feature is great for me!

                            doublevr I think the biggest gamechanger would be if 'in video player or in video UI' has a more customizable timeframe selector. One in which you can custom name (or tag) each clip that you bookmark within the video itself. Then we can reference that custom named clip within the BYOJ interface. That would be incredible.

                            The 2nd part to this would be the ability to reference the already created tags/bookmarks that the scene was programmed with by the creating team or studio.

                            This would make making these BYOJ videos super easy vs having to re watch most of the videos , figuring out the best parts, and then writing down the start/stop times of each of your favorite segments.

                              redsazxcr You can absolutely do this. You just dont add any 'jump customizations' when selecting each episode.

                              Edit: I just tried a trial run of both my first BYOJ test creation and then the Melody sample done by SLR. It looks like it does NOT default transition from one episode to the next. Truthfully if you do not put in a question or jump sequence I think it should default transition to the next episode or at least have that as an additional option (transition to next episode or stop)
