I've been thinking what if we make the videos interactive.
Basically you will be able to program what parts of what videos you want to watch and what to skip. Choose Your Own Adventure 👍

On top of that you will be able to program a pop up where a viewer can choose between options. Basically making every video interactive and jumping from one video to another on SLR. You can think of having a journey with your favorite performer in different places.

You can also make these scripts available for other users on SLR.

Think of it with handstracking when you can program particular object areas of the videos to become interactive 🔥🔥🔥

Btw handstracking is coming with the next update 🤌 🔥

And I would also actually like a narrator, just like Life Selector Europe does it. This completely silent stuff in VR gets imho more and more boring by the day and it would be especially bad in more connected storyines, spanning across multiple scenes...

I want to use this feature not as a role-playing game, but to be able to create my own custom chapters for the best moments of my favorite scenes. Then this feature is great for me!

I like the idea but it depends on the execution. I think for some it would be an immersion breaker to stop the scene to ask you what you want to do next. I really enjoy the choose your own adventure videos though and think it could work really well in VR. They’d have to be made with that in mind though, I wouldn’t just want scenes as they are now but broken up so you can skip stuff. I’d want the girl actually talking to you to ask you what you want to do.

petermc I can think of it as super smooth experience. You can either watch particular parts of a video without a single pause (watching what you put in the script and skipping the rest) or indeed introduce some dialogue menus like that other user posted:

I'd want every video to feature the question "stick it in her ass/pussy?" - I would then always pick the anal option, and other people would be able to enjoy their vaginal only scene.

It sounds like the OP is describing a cutting and editing feature for playlists, which if you do it how PovR/wanks and milfz have done then awesome.

The playlist trim and edit feauture was 1 of the main reasons i stayed subbed to POVR for so long.

Take a look at the PC game "Acting Lessons" - I love it (and by the same writer "Being a DIK") - these interactive sex novels are really neat, and really pull you into the relationship with the girls, which makes even their rudimentary graphics very sexy.

I think it would be sensational if you could make some sort of tie-in with an interactive story like this, except that the scenes are obviously SLR scenes not cartoon scenes - Wow it would be incredible!

The obvious comparison for me would be the life selector scenes in 2d porn. I assume Dezyred is something similar in VR although I’ve never tried that. The issue with Dezyred and life selector for me was that you have to pay to progress in the story. I wouldn’t want that on SLR.

Its on their main page under Playlists, and if I remember it right when watching any video you have an "add to" option to add it to which ever of your playlists your working on. then you can go to the playlist page where you can trim parts of each scene or multiple parts, and from as many scenes as you want, then stream it as 1 video, it was a while ago i last used it but I think I am remembering it all correctly.
Then you have the option to publish the playlist for just yourself or everyone either anonymously or with your user name.

as for the software used I'm not sure, I don't remember it being branded though it could have been, it was just part of the site.

doublevr right so you wouldn’t be filming specific scenes in this style. It would just be scenes similar to now but you could program it to miss the bits you don’t want to see and/or put in dialogue text.

That wouldn’t be something I’d be that excited for but no harm in giving people options. I’m sure many would make use of the function to skip parts of scene. Like listening to an album and taking out the songs you don’t like.

I’d really love to see some scenes though that are true choose your own adventure scenes by design.

doublevr I think the biggest gamechanger would be if 'in video player or in video UI' has a more customizable timeframe selector. One in which you can custom name (or tag) each clip that you bookmark within the video itself. Then we can reference that custom named clip within the BYOJ interface. That would be incredible.

The 2nd part to this would be the ability to reference the already created tags/bookmarks that the scene was programmed with by the creating team or studio.

This would make making these BYOJ videos super easy vs having to re watch most of the videos , figuring out the best parts, and then writing down the start/stop times of each of your favorite segments.

doublevr what you are proposing will absolutely work perfectly well with your existing content. I think we’re just talking about two different things.

I’m talking about specific scenes where the girl is actually conversing with you asking you what you want to do. Once the pre-amble is out of the way and you’re getting down to business she would actually ask something like “what do you want to do first?” The option might be blowjob or eat pussy and depending on what you pick will then affect her response so, if you pick blowjob she’d then say “oh so you’d like me to suck your cock” then blow job proceeds and then after a couple of minutes she asks what you want next and it could be “eat pussy”or “titty fuck” and again her response depends on what you pick “oh you want to fuck these big tits of mine”. And so on. It’s not just text on screen, the girl is actually giving you the options.

It’s probably a lot of work to have to film all the little segments to cover all the story options and may be cost prohibitive but it is something that’s been done in 2d porn and would seem to fit even more perfectly for VR.

I will certainly be interested to see what you are suggesting in action though and how it’s integrated into the scenes. Always worth trying new ideas.

Sure there would be some benefit to preprogram "chapters", but my understanding from interactive would be something different.

This already starts in the pre-sex conversation where you might have different answers that change the outcome of the conversation. Or the girl asks you if you rather have a blowjob or fuck her tits.
Obviously all this forks of the scene would have to be shot to have a consistent footage.

An example would be dezyred, which does exactly this, or in the flat world lifeselector.
Virtualrealporn also did scenes like that years ago, but the problem was it only did really work with streaming and back then streaming was resolution wise even worse than downloads. For some reason they did stop once technology got to a point you actually could recognize something on the screen.

Virtualrealporn generally had a strange regression into mediocrity. I think they have been one of the first if not the first site to shoot 3k, they have been the first in de VR world to do interactive stories, they have been the first with integrated toy synchronizaton. And then it suddenly stopped, they took forever to upgrade to 5k, interactives are completely gone, the only thing that came back are the toys.

I remember one VR video like this in the early days of VR--maybe 2016 or so--I can't remember who produced it or which website. It was interesting and I liked the idea, but it didn't reach its full potential because the headsets and my computers were so crappy then.

Interactive videos: Yay!

When it comes to "choose your own adventure" style videos, there is a lot of opportunity depending on the execution.
Dezyred, as an example, has some decisions that are about the content you want to see next (e.g blowjob or striptease), but also some dialogues where you need to "say" the right things in order to hit on a girl.

Also, do you know Netflix's "Black Mirror: Bandersnatch"? It's an interactive movie on Netflix, but it's really well done.
The movie won't stop when you have to make a choice. It goes on and blends over into the next video without any notable cuts or breaks.
If you don't make a choice until the current clip ends, it will autoselect something and then again seamlessly blend over.

Maybe you can find out how they are doing it, because I think this seemless integration could bring VR-cyoa videos to another level.

Loahrs I like the idea of this, but it sounds like it would be a nightmare to actually program, and would definitely make CYOA content slow to produce. It would be a hell of a Experience though, and I could see somewhere down the line using AI to achieve just this.
