I guess it comes down to how it is actually portrayed. It's a thin line but you can see pretty well if an actress is really frightened or whether she is only role-playing or even in on the game. There is a big difference between a girl crying and being actually violently forced into sexual action and stuff (which has no place around here) and a girl that only plays the reluctant girl that happily blows some cocks after a few minutes. Stuff like Pure Taboo on Adulttime or DarkRoomVR is clearly in a grey area but I think it's still pretty visible that it's just a role-playing game and that nobody is actually forced into sex. I hope that you at least give people some room to shoot taboo and "darker" stuff.

        I completely agree that there is a thin line and SO many shades of grey. One of the rules we have to adhere to is that

        I think there is a balance to be struck. We are currently having internal conversations about how to best facilitate power play and consensual "non-consent" scenes and scenarios whilst complying with financial industry rules. Some of the most popular BDSM niches and even something as benign as tickling fetish videos may conceivably feature a performer saying "no" as part of the play. One option may be that we start asking producers to include footage where the actual safe-words and stop-words in place for a scene are disclosed. Maybe the community has other ideas. I would love to hear them!

        What I can promise you is that our overriding goal is to find ways to facilitate legal and consensual material and I have no truck with people saying something should be banned, just because it is not to their taste.

            Polar Why has trans content been intentionally hidden from the main page for a long time now? You have to search for it, so on first impression people might not even know about it.
            There is also extremely little trans content in comparison to the straight content. I saw SLR made one really high quality video a while back but there's been nothing since.

                  I guess a regular SLR user doesn't expect to see trans content right away. If you are into trans you should be able to get there.

                                  Hi @justsomedude101, I’m not trying to stir things up or get suspended. But I did happen to read @LordCrash’s post before it was removed.

                                  While I certainly wouldn’t have used the wording he used. I have noticed some of the things he mentioned.

                                  I understand compliance is a very serious issue. And I’m glad you guys are doing what it takes to meet compliance. But it seems you guys are going a lot farther than any other site I subscribe to.

                                  Are you guys being overly cautious? Or are the other sites not going far enough? I don’t know.

                                  You might want to have the compliance team take a look at other sites and see if you guys still feel you going about it the right way. Or if you need to reevaluate. Because I have certainly noticed a discrepancy between how SLR and other sites are handling this issue.

                                  Anyways, just my $.02 FWIW

                                      bacula8630 Speaking generally - yes, we are being overly cautious on every front when it comes to all thing Compliance. That's a large part of why we've been more aggressive than many other sites, out of an "abundance of caution". Those are just about all the details I have. Personally, I would assume it comes down to other factors as well, for example the size/user base of SLR compared to other VR sites making it a potentially larger focus, wanting to keep ahead of current compliance trends, doing the cost-benefit analysis and deciding losing some subscribers is a safer bet than the risk involved for hosting certain types of content, etc. Again, those are just my personal assumptions.

                                      Also in general - I have no problem with feedback/criticism of our Compliance process (or pretty much any aspect of the site, lord knows we get plenty of it). In the case of @LordCrash's comment I suspended him because of the verbiage used and the hostility involved, which I've asked him on previous occasions to stop. If someone can read his comment and not understand why it may have seemed out-of-line or could have been written in a less hostile/inflammatory way, then I don't imagine we'll ever see eye-to-eye on it and there's not much left to say.

                                            To give you some insight into why we might add prefixes that don't seem to make logical sense, merchants which are treated by the financial industry as high risk get monitored for compliance. A lot.

                                            A merchant will be monitored by their own bank, by their payment processors, by those payment processors banks, (of which there are likely to be several,) and sometimes even the banks that those banks partner with for cross currency settlement.

                                            All of those banks will have their own slightly different interpretation of the rules, and their own list of stopwords they don't want to see.

                                            Some compliance teams will take the time to look at the context of a stopword they find, others will just fire off an email requesting that it is removed, which then takes time and effort to resolve.

                                            We know the performers are not actually related. You know the performers are not actually related. The banks know this too. I don't think that a slight amendment to the title is going to seriously damage the ability to suspend disbelief.

                                            But it will stop us getting pinged by the crawlers; it means we can spend that time and energy on delivering more content instead.

                                              Thanks for the additional insight. I understand this is a complex issue. And I get wanting to remove key words from the titles/descriptions. But your solution seems a little weird to me.

                                              Adding prefixes or omitting a letter or two from key words feels like a half measure. A little like trying to game the system. Rather than a comprehensive, well implemented, long term solution. It also feels a little silly to me.

                                              I get that going through the titles and descriptions of thousands of scenes is a Herculean task. But this solution doesn’t feel very professional. And a little beneath a company of your stature IMHO. You guys are better than this.

                                              Anyways, I’ll shut up about this now. Now that I know what you guys are doing. It doesn’t really interfere with my enjoyment of the scenes. I’m more concerned about re-editing scenes and removing parts that these credit card companies might find objectionable.

                                              I know that has nothing to do with you guys. You are at the mercy of these credit card companies. Just like the rest of us. It just annoys me that these credit card companies have so much power over what we watch.
