  • Some videos are being removed for compliance purposes

Yeah...getting real mixed messages here when a scene like the Coco + Jewelz Succubus scene has to be taken down for whatever absurd reason, while at the same time there's a fresh new pissing scene uploaded this morning.

I mean you have to roll with whatever punches the billing providers are forcing on you, but I'm having trouble understanding what does/does not quality as a compliance issue.

I have a general question for the mods, which doesnt relate to this particular incident, but does fit the discussion -
Do your affiliates have the ability to back out and remove all of their videos? For example if SexBabesVR decide they dont want to work with you any more, will you just simply delete all their videos?

This seems a much more scary prospect than what is happening for legal reasons right now

This already has happened. For example the whole BadoinkVR/18VR/VRCosplay network was available years ago.
If I remember correctly TmvVR also was part of SLR years ago before they have been removed, and only come back a few months ago.

ibins I wish there was a "dislike" button. it basically means the only content which one is actually buying with lifetime membership is the SLR originals and everything else is on shaky ground

Hey everyone, I'm one of the people trying to help with compliance and that's part of why you haven't seen me on the forum as often recently. I've read through the posts and all I can do is reinforce much of what doublevr has told you already.

          • There are no laws at play, here. In fact throughout Europe, Asia, and North America the law is very much on the side of people producing content. Even roleplaying power fantasies are legally protected.
          • But just because something is legal, does not mean that certain institutions (financial) want anything to do with it. That is their right as a private business to choose whom they work with. Unfortunately, without these very large and faceless financial institutions from all over the globe, businesses like ours just aren't possible.
          • This hasn't just affected us, it's affected many different sites. As a company, we value our community and we value open, transparent communication. We want you to know what's going on.
          • Our first steps were to IMMEDIATELY get into compliance, now we will be communicating with content partners to help ensure that their future uploads meet compliance standards.
          • "Compliance" is a funny thing. Believe it or not, there are very, very few clear rules given to us. We may receive a list of keywords they don't want to see but then using a different word is okay, and then the next day they'll request one video be removed while another with more extreme content remains. All we can do is ask that you be patient with us.
          • This should come as no surprise to our biggest fans, but SexLikeReal is the world's largest VR porn site. The size our company and the sheer number of transactions we conduct has enabled us to bring you some of the top content from all over the world, but it also means that financial institutions look directly at us while not seeing smaller sites. If site X is doing thing Y and has the same payment processors, then it's only a matter of time before they run into problems as well. SexLikeReal's success and size has put us near the front of the line for this push.

Rest assured, the people who make up this team are passionate about our product and passionate about free speech. We will continue to work to bring the widest variety of content possible, but we MUST conform to the regulations of financial institutions that handle your money and ours. Many videos will be returning after a manual check of their content, some will stay removed. But once SLR is in complete compliance, it will be much easier for us to push the boundaries of these regulations from time to time without risking our business.

We are truly working hard on this issue. In fact that was one of the first priorities when these guidelines came down. We'll have an answer soon.

spacepirate -- You might consider that I didn't know in advance that it would be removed.

ApolloSLR , thanks--maybe a download site with a different URL that is only shared with those who are impacted by this? And it's only up for a couple of weeks? Or even just file sharing links sent to the impacted members and they expire after one download?

              catflap
Well yes and no, as unlike other streaming providers you can download here everything as far as I know without any limit, you are at least guaranteed to have access to anything that is already there.

And for future content, well that is true for every site you buy a lifetime membership, there is never a guarantee how long they will provide future content.

Like I said, use crypto for payment and all your censorship"compliance" issues are gone.

LordCrash so are most of your customers probably.

I do agree that porn studios need to come together to find a way out from under the thumb of these puritanical credit card companies. I don’t think right now that there’s enough people involved in crypto for a site to just switch off the credit card billing.

I do think there could be an option for a porn payment card that all sites sign up to that people pre-load money onto. I think Clips4sale used to do their own card like this as a payment option. It would be great if every porn site just switched to this and gave the finger to Visa and Mastercard.

The downside to this is that a lot of porn sites probably rely on lots of people just forgetting to cancel subscriptions and automatic recurring payments whereas these cards would rely on people actually remembering to put the money on there.

petermc Yep. I have crypto but if a site decides to force me to use it to pay, I'm almost certainly going elsewhere

mebejoe There is a lot of work going in the back office to get it fixed. The update is coming.

And tell me what part of "That's not we wanted to do" you don't understand? And do you understand that there are certain things we are required to do?

nagewu When the time is right. Stop asking that. It's not helping to handle the matters at all. Just distracts people from their work to get it done.

Get some sense people. You are like whining crybabies here. Can't you understand that's not what we wanted to do on the first place?

Yes. The same as on Youtube or Netflix

As you can witness it's really hard to manage everything. We are working to establish a system to get things in control.

LordCrash It's so simple to write an e-mail to all subscribers...

It's so simple to post things without knowing much.

What did you think was going to happen when you remove paying members favourite videos with no notice? I can only speak from my own personal perspective however I am now thinking that purchasing a lifetime membership may have been a bit hasty.
