Two things which should be mentioned:

  • The current SLR App Version keeps logging me out. Cannot say when this happens, but usually once per session. Session means: Browser RSS Feed check for new scenes and invoking SLR App from Browser. Sometimes first start i'm logged off. Sometimes after 5th or 10th scene i'm logged out.
  • After invoking a scene, the first click on the seek bar set the slider at the end of the movie, thus exiting the scene. Please fix this: The UI focus should be catched by the current pointer position even on changing gui element(s).

Rakly3 turning on tracking completely fixed all issues with the new update for me. (Im on oculus quest 2)

FredFeinbein Can you check if logging out only happens when backing out of a video rather than skipping to the next video? Doesn't mean it happens every time you back out, just if that somehow triggers it.
    Thanks!

In my case, the app does not load. When I open it, at first I see the SLR icon, then the circle like loading and then absolutely nothing happens, it just stucks at that point and does not do nor load any other thing.

    Device: Xiaomi Mi A1
    OS: Android One (9)

I have tried it in a Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite with MIUI 12.1.5 and it works fine, but not in Android One.

Also, the toggle to "free hands" mode doesn't work either.

turning on the sensor guards solved the flickering problem 🙂

i will try that...the guards are a pain in the ass in the dark 🙂 now just need to find out where to get that done 🙂

The bugs in performance are from DeoViewer, which has the same problem. Microsoft removed the HEVC video codec from base installs and now charges .99 cents for it on the Microsoft Store. I downloaded the HEVC extension from microsoft but this didn't fix the issue. Something in DeoViewer's latest upgrade is causing problems with the HEVC codec. Even when I have the codec, performance is as if its not there. If you look down this lane, I'm sure you'll find the solution to the issue. It's not something users can fix. This is why VLC player works, because it comes with the codec out of the box and uses it appropriately unlike Deo.

Rakly3 how do you leave guardian off? I can't seem to find that option.

I can lower my guardian sensitivity but can't find the option to turn it off altogether.

Also unable to enable hands free mode here. On 9.02, Android. I seem to remember the same thing happening the last time there was a major update as well.

keylox23 If you have developer activated (you need it to sideload the SLR App) you can turn off the guardian in the developer section of the Quest 2 settings.

            Things I miss...
            My Scripts toggle
When playing a video the info panel that showed up on the left with video description and names of talent. Was easy to just click studio or name to see more without having to backtrack and search.
            More videos per page

So will there be a permanent fix for this? Or is the only solution doing the tracking/gaurdian thing. I havent been able to use the app properly because of the guardian, which i usually leave off.

Yes, we are working on fixing it. It's just a bit more complicated than simply rolling back to v8.x . It's more than a cosmetic change and also more than only the app. It would likely be easier if Oculus updated their OS.
