I really hate to pull this card lest I sound like a Karen. I've been subscribed for years now, but this recent change is a massive downgrade in user experience. Personally, I can no longer justify my subscription unless you do one of the following:

Revert the security changes, allowing MultiFunPlayer to operate
Add additional functionality to the video player for OSR devices (random axis motion, custom haptics hotkeys, etc.), eliminating the need for MultiFunPlayer
Drastically raise the script download limit

And on the topic of the script download limit... 3 per month? Why can I download 30 videos every 6 days, but only 3 scripts per month? I rarely see bootleg SLR videos online, so you're clearly doing a great job of minimizing the piracy already. Why do you need to be so strict about scripts? This is an honest question.

Also, it needs to be said that you're alienating your most informed and financially-able customers with this update. These customers are not afraid to find alternatives...

probably because they have a strict quota with 'the handy' they partenered with. Something along the lines. It may not be fully up to SLR to set the download limits.

In case you need the additional info on this bug. This particular video https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/nympho-alchemy-34658?t=800 continues to go into the "resending script" issue as soon as you forward to the scripted portion. At least is has for the previous 3 days.

According to SLR: The script limit was introduced as an essential security measure to help prevent misuse and to ensure a high-quality experience for all users.
This Fair Use policy has been carefully designed based on typical usage patterns across our user base, and even our most active users are rarely affected by it.

So according to SLR you are not likely going to hit the limit, according to the complaints online and my experience, yeah more than possible.

quest2mfp if you say they put some 15 watch limit per day. I definitely have an issue with that:

Imight scan through 13 videos and watch a few seconds of each to see its not what im after, before I land on 'my clip' that does it for me. But if im understanding, you are saying I can basically only watch 1 video with a script a day? If so, thats some broad brush bullshit

I had the following usage pattern that triggered the limit almost always:

Searching for a video with the right script you can hit the limit in just 10 to 15 minutes. I don't think their limit accounts for such usage pattern.

If you monitor this pattern, it will sure look like someone is maybe downloading/pirating scripts.

No Im just plainly asking: if I put on my headset today, and go to SLR... and start to watch a video.. will it turn off in 15 minutes? is that what your saying? or turn off after 15 videos? or stop after 15 scripts have played? see what Im asking? Your talk about a "15 minute limit" is kinda scattered and not direct in what it applies to, Ive read a few of your comments. Not trying to be rude, im trying to understand you, cause this seems to be a subject that has gotten your attention

quest2mfp Yep, that's my usage pattern too. But I can't even get to the point of hitting the limit due to OSR devices being broken by the updates.
@sogman to answer your question MFP is a popular app used by OSR users (OSR2, SR6, SSR devices). It has several really cool capabilities like multi axis interpolation (basically the toy moves side to side and rotates, not just up and down), and automatic speed limiting (so if you have watch a video where the pace is too fast, it can correct for that).

SLR cut off support for this app intentionally in order to 'secure scripting'. This is intended to make it harder to pirate SLR's AI generated scripts - though it's debatable whether this problem actually exists.

I can certainly share more thoughts on this, for instance that given how fast this space is evolving, and the availability of off the shelf pre-trained vision models, script piracy is moot. The tech to build AI scripts will only get easier and easier for others to acquire. ... Investing resources into this, cannibalizing features that work well, and screwing over your most loyal users to protect tech that will quickly be overtaken, is shortsighted.
But from seeing SLR's response here, I suspect we're wasting our time. I worry SLR will not do the right thing here. OSR users are in the minority, so this isn't viewed as a priority.

I will restate what I said earlier - as a life subscriber, this is a slap in the face. SLR used to take pride in doing the right thing for life membership holders.... This is not it.

Thanks for your reply... but maybe were all talking past eachother. Seems you are ONLY referring to scripts and some OSR whatever the hell that is Multi axsis thing. I use the handy. It goes up and down. Does this discussion pertain to me, or no? Thanks..

netcat I currently also can't use my device, and that was not what I signed up for. But if you're a corner case that is acceptable to their logic somehow.

I think it's not long before the pre-trained models are available for scripts, and 5 to 10 years down the line you just describe a scene that you want and it's all AI generated.

Has anyone seen SLR scripts in the wild? Does the script piracy problem actually exists, or is it just part a bigger plan for after the release of their own toy. If we are just less than 0.1% of the toy base, what would a pirate user base be 0.00001%?

Maybe the goal is just end to end encryption alas total control.

netcat ok so to be clear, OP is talking about something related to "scripts" and I do have a script subscription on SLR... but this does not effect me; what he is talking about. Correct? He and you are only referring to some sort of multiaxis device, is that right?

sogman It's hard to say - you'll have to try it and see. While you won't be affected by MFP support dropped, you may still run into the new script limits. It's hard to say until you test it out.

sogman You are probably fine, just if it stops working in a session, after a few scripts, I could be the scripts limit, and then it's nice to have some local files to finish the session. :-)

The actual limit is unknown and a closely guarded secret.

Yeah, feels like it's setting it up so it's devices they're partnered with and their own future device. I get it, kinda don't... I tried their T Code stuff once, it NERF'd my SR6 and put OSR2 software on it. I don't trust them on their software front now. What if they make a rip of their own version of MFP? Buy it from Yooooi, or have him make something for them. If they're being honest and it's about script piracy and not device exclusivity.

Could well be that in the near future toy manufacturers need to pay for support on SLR, that would need a secure link so that it can't be bypassed.

I'm not quite ready to make that leap. I don't think this is about device exclusivity and I highly doubt that SLR would try to force other toy makers off their platform at scale. It's not inline with past actions taken by SLR nor is it inline with the philosophy under which they operate.

Don't get me wrong - we are really getting screwed over by the MFP block. It's bad for the consumers, and it's bad for innovation. And it's also bad for SLR's business long term as it will open doors for competitors to step in.

Are we going to see the amount of scripts we can stream in a day increase with the change of increasing script security.
