There are laws all over the world which make non-consensual deepfake use illegal, especially regarding explicit images. SLR would not know whether you had permission to use a certain face, or whether you might share it, so I don't think they'd risk the huge repercussions - especially in an age when some Republicans are looking to ban porn altogether. Consider the damage they'd do to their business and the industry if they fucked up.

      Yeah, would definitely get slr in major legal issues. But to way in on the whole subject: The box is already long open. If you wanna deep fake someone in porn you can do so already. Just requires know how and time but this is just gonna get better quality and much easier to do moving forward.

      As for non porn deep fakes: All these institutions and companies are doing is delaying the inevitably really. It's like open AI not releasing voice cloning. They act like it's not already possible. That's just companies saving their own ass from lawsuit. It's not safety for you and I but safety for themselves. I'd even argue that it's actually harmful as it keeps the masses oblivious to the threats that are already out there so they can't get used to it while it's still not perfect.

      Given the potential lawsuits and 'facial IP' concerns, I doubt this will ever become commercially available. Still, I’d love the chance to experience a virtual sex encounter with Foxi Di someday.

        i think would be great for girls that give consent which should bypass any legal issues. Dont see why not be possible to create contracts for pornstars to use their face deepfaked on any video. Many stars retired and not i love, with little to no vr content would be awesome to use them

          This could be a viable model: establish contracts with various women to license their facial likeness as intellectual property. Everyone benefits — the women receive compensation, the "Deepfake VR company" earns revenue, and users can engage in virtual experiences with their preferred partners. A win for all parties involved.
