  • Lifetime Subscribers...should you be ignored?

As a lifetime member I can tell you for certain I was given 2 SLR Drive tokens. But I don't think they are given out on a monthly basis if that is what you mean.

Frank54324 they said before that 2 tokens would be given out every month at the beginning of the month. Thats how its been for the most part since drive launched. Hopefully its just a delay we will continue to get the monthly tokens like was stated

...i just signed up for free VR scripted porn for life, that's all. i don't assume if something new comes along i'm entitled to it unless it is a thing all basic subscribers get. So as long as i'm getting what everyone else gets each month, i'm okay with that. i don't think having an infinitely repeating subscription gives me any more clout than someone who joins on day one, i just went all in on my hand, now i get to see how the gamble pays out.

Happily, i can tell them to their face when i think they've fucked up, they have a forum. i have done so before, i'm not banned, that says something. i don't even know if they have to have a forum, they could just have a faux-rum of shills and bots. But no, we're still here, telling them to fuck off from time to time, it's great fun. Hopefully they listen... a bit...

Also, i'm wondering how many LT people there even are? As an ongoing, screen time percentage based stat? How many hours of the total hours of watch time are LT peeps, per month? i know i watch a lot less than in the old days, i imagine most of SLR's watch time is covered by peeps that are paying regularly.

    But i'd love to know...

It's interesting that we have a thread suggesting that SLR should give LT subscribers new features for free while SLR is in fact punishing LT subscribers by taking away features.

they really deleted 2 credit every month feature after people who buy LT for it?

Seems we might be loosing slr drive completely from slr according to what was just announced. If true and will have nothing to with slr , will be extremely disapointing as drive was one of the main reasons i subscribed, and considering now canceling my membership if true

Feryomi I just seen this as well. Just upgraded to the 150gb with 25 credits 2 days ago. AI PT on my uploaded videos was money well spent but sadly they're taking off the site soon. Hopefully a new service with better features will take it's place.

Not sure what extras are being argued for, but earlier lifetime subscribers paid for more potential downloads that were reduced and reduced and reduced over time. So extra downloads, that were paid for at the time of purchase, yes, that should be more than new subscribers that are paying for whatever amount they're agreeing to pay for at the time.

What's HBR in English? Full words please

            High bitrate I'm guessing.

Yes, that's complete bullshit. I paid for more downloads and original downloads. They've lessen downloads and now no original files? SLR are not abiding by what they sold to earlier adopters. Lifetime doesn't mean 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years.. it means lifetime. Yet they continue to reduce downloads, and now quality of downloads?

I just did a quick check and see new SLR Originals missing original quality, but other studios seem to still have original quality.

TemporaryName I get what you say, but think of it this way: You also have more content than at the moment you subscribed... Would you want the extra downloads but have only the content before the date you subbed?

The site continues to change, but the access for lifetime subs is still there. IMO, that's exactly what lifetime sub means (on any site/platform, not just this one), access to the site as it is now or in the future.

                It's about the precedent.
If the Lifetime Subs accept this, how far can they push this?

In a year -> No downloads, only streaming.
In 2 years -> Only Streaming 10 videos per week.
In 5 years -> Only Streaming 1 video per month and ppv for every additional stream.

Fact is people signed up to Lifetime with certain expectations and those are being eroded in broad daylight and without any notifications.

petex67 Imagine if Netflix would have had a lifetime plan when they started with DVD's... Would you still expect them to ship you DVD's today just because they had that when you subscribed? Of course in a few years there will be no downloads anymore... Just like there are no more VHS releases for movies. They don't "push" anything, it's the way a site/service evolves during time. The lifetime subscription saves you money on the long run (compared to monthly/yearly) that's the "deal"... nothing else should be expected. You have access to the same service as everyone else.

fuccaneer Early announcement for the next big change?

Finally someone else that see's what i see... these posts stand out like a sore thumb after a while !

Even the initial post is worth investigating ... as i eluded to early in the thread.

rolly That's a bad faith argument because Netflix never had a lifetime plan.

SLR continues to pull the rug out from under lifetime subscribers, inch by inch. If they had even a little respect for their customers they would have grandfathered their older plans and offered newer plans with lower download limits, no high bitrate downloads, etc.

Hairsational That's why I said "imagine"... Ok, then let's talk about the hundreds of other porn sites that had a lifetime plan and stopped their operation after a few years. Most are still live and people can access the site, but there is no more new content added.

I completely understand that some things are getting worse, but that affects everyone, and lifetime subscribers should not consider themselves as a "better" kind of users. Remove the "Lifetime" part from the title of this thread, and I agree with most of what users say here.

"You also have more content than at the moment you subscribed... Would you want the extra downloads but have only the content before the date you subbed?"

That's an absolutely ridiculous take. When you subscribe for lifetime, you're subscribing for what exists and will exist, unless it's some sort of radical new product.

My parents have a lifetime subscription for the past maybe 20+ years from Sirius XM.. or even prior to that, either Sirius satellite radio or XM, before they merged and it's still current, active, they use it. They're not limited to listening to songs or sports or news broadcasts that happened prior 2006 or something ridiculous like that. They obviously have access to modern music, news, sports broadcasts, etc. SiriusXM haven't even offered lifetime anymore since 2011, but whatever my parents paid for is still active.

Famously, some people like Mark Cuban bought lifetime flights with American Airlines I believe. They're not limited to places that only had airports or routes in the 1990s or 1980s, whenever they bought the lifetime pass. Same here as far as American Airlines doesn't offer this lifetime/unlimited travel pass anymore, but it's still active, because people bought lifetime/unlimited and that's what's honored.

SLR has been chipping away at what was paid for. They're not honoring what was paid for by early adopters. At the moment, I download very little. I haven't downloaded much for months. Partially due to doing other things, partially due to hard drive space, but either way, I paid for unlimited streaming, downloads of original files. If I decided I want to start downloading 30 every 72 hours again, that's what I paid for, but that isn't what SLR honors. At the time I paid, I believe it was up 30 every 72 hours. Now it's cut in half, up to 30 every 144 hours. Maybe myself too, I don't remember at the moment, but others paid for 50 every 72 hours. Prior to that, people paid for unlimited as far as I know. It's been cut 3 or 4 times and they bullshit each time, saying this will be the last to make people calm down for a while, then months or a year later they cut it again or start talking about how they can cut it further... 'Nobody needs x amount of downloads'.. 'Only x% of people actually consistently download the full amount of videos'. How's that an excuse to cut further? That means people should be downloading more if only a certain percentage are, and they should have plenty of bandwidth or whatever and quit their bitching. SLR's take is, they'll offer a tube that can flow 1000 gallons/liters of water, but the people are only using 120 gallons/liters of water.. so instead of being thankful that people aren't using the tube to maximum capacity, they say.. why don't we shirk the tube so it only flows 100 gallons/liters of water, because only 20% use over that. And everyone will get used to that amount of water, and later we'll cut it again and again. That's not how lifetime works when you paid for something and the providers keeps coming to cut more and more of what you paid for.... and they're not giving half the money back when they cut what you already paid for in half.
