We move all the Originals post production to AV1 masters now.
Will be announcing for all slr production houses to move to av1 masters as well.

doublevr interesting... I haven't saved anything in AV1 format, but I guess I should probably start. I'm just doing 80mbps in 265, before that was 200mbps in 264.
I regards to some of the comments here... the camera is recording in raw which is a huge format that can be saved in any number of codecs once on the computer. The bitrate during recording is around 2400mbps, or 1gb every 3 seconds. SO the cameras give lots of data to work with, no matter the codec we choose at the end.

doublevr I think many (incl. myself) would appreciate keeping the 8K h.265 HQ download option as part of their subscription. You could even make these files smaller than they were before (like 60-90 Mbps) and still sell the AV1 downloads as an UHQ option to those who want the best possible quality.

doublevr Eh not sure if I understand. "ppv" = Pay Per View? So you guys are taking away the original bitrate files and if we want them we can only watch them online and pay per view, do I understand that correctly?
