I don't think cutting the crap studios will result in more quality content. Producing more content of any kind means higher costs, so there only will be more quality content if more quality content leads directly to more revenue. Excluding external content that almost no one watches will not make SLR release more videos per week.
Regarding 2D content: It is pretty clear already that no one watches it, and no one without a headset will pay for an SLR subscription to watch flat on their phones when there is PH etc. The only thing I could imagine is that there is an audience that would pay for flat with scripts but I have no way of knowing if this is true. Not sure if there is any serious competition in that sector.
What concerns me more is that the next big thing that has been launched the other day is SLR Toonz Originals. Toons! I couldn't dream this up even if I tried.
It's funny how we always seem to get the things no one wants: Jimmy, flat, downloads for $9.99 a piece, toons. So maybe we should ask for less, more crappy, more expensive non-VR content in order to get what we actually want?
End of sermon.
