AshSLR Hello Ash, thanks for getting back to me.
Unfortunately, this new change is quite disheartening. It not only signals the economic end for PMVs, but also drastically reduces the visibility and discovery potential for both existing and new creators. The majority of views - and therefore earnings - come within the first few days, while a video is still featured in the “New” feed. That’s also when most new followers are gained. I’ve already received messages from several people saying they had never heard of PMVs before, but now love them and are glad they discovered them. Some of these comments are even publicly visible under my videos.
Before I go further, a quick clarification: PMVs and compilations are two completely different formats. Everything I’m saying here refers solely to PMVs.
You mentioned that only truly “new” videos appear in the “New” section. I understand the logic behind that. But if we’re being precise, a well-crafted PMV is also a new video. While it uses existing footage, the editing process transforms it into something entirely different. Scenes are rearranged, merged, and reimagined - so the viewer doesn’t feel like they’re watching a repeat, but rather a completely new or reinterpreted piece, depending on the PMV’s style. And let’s not forget the most important part: as the name “Porn Music Video” suggests, a PMV is a music video - an entirely different genre from traditional adult content. The best way to explain a PMV is to compare it to a remix. A good remix can give a song a completely new emotional impact.
So why not allow users to choose - just like before - whether they want to see PMVs or not? The toggle already exists and works perfectly for other categories like Flat Videos and JAV. It just doesn’t apply to PMV/Compilations. Enabling that option again would solve the issue instantly, and it worked flawlessly on the previous version of the site.
Otherwise, it gives the impression that PMVs are no longer welcome on the platform. If that’s the case, it would be disappointing - but at least we’d have clarity. In that case, I’d kindly ask for an official statement so we as creators can have certainty and plan accordingly. As I mentioned earlier, it makes little economic sense to spend weeks on a project that ends up barely being seen - and therefore doesn’t generate enough compensation.
I truly hope there’s still a chance to change this situation, because I genuinely love creating this kind of content. That’s why I’m asking for a final, clear answer: is there any possibility of reversing this change?
Apologies for the wall of text - and thank you!
