Wouldn’t all be about the financial return though. You could have your fantasy custom scene made that otherwise wouldn’t happen 
. Sounds like a cool, idea. Would need approximate costs upfront or the producers could be doing a lot of quoting and not getting any takers.

Talent is the most of the budget for hardcore scene, super cheap for solo. Length, location, quality required is a factor.
I can think of a custom 15-20 scene at less than $1k.
Both flat and vr are about the same price, just a matter of availability. We really want to go flat to expand on that

I regularly purchase customs from platforms like manyvids, and I'd love the opportunity to purchase custom vids on SLR from VR studios.
Expensive custom + rights: I'm not familiar with porn production economics, and I probably wouldn't pay $5000 even if I can commercialize it. There is such little control over the production that too many things can go wrong. But I'm very curious, if this could work and I could recoup some of the investment, I may be interested in it.
Inexpensive custom + no rights: I'm much more familiar to non-exclusive customs for anywhere between $50-$300 varying on studio, length and complexity. I'd definitely pay for that kind of custom.
Maybe another cool idea would be collaborative customs: People can post their idea, and others can contribute money towards it. When a scenario has pooled sufficient funds, a VR studio can pick it up to produce it. I would definitely pay to influence studio scenarios.
This actually could be really good. My initial reaction was paying for an entire scene...
But a model like this could work:
$50 per minute (hypothetical value)
Discounts if model doesn't matter
Discounts if non sexual
Extra if it includes cumshot
etc...
Different pricing tiers would be very important. SLR could have female performer (let's call her Sarah).
5 people want a custom blowjob with dirty talk for 5 minutes. These clients either don't care about which model is used or Sarah matches the requirements. Sarah then is filmed for 5 different scenes.
Having a relatively cheap option available is important to get people pulling their wallets out.
While few would be likely to pay $5000 for a full scene, I think many would be willing to pay $100-$200 for their favourite pornstar talking dirty to them in VR for a couple minutes (and retain the video).
Could be cool...excited to see a more fleshed out business model.

I can see this going quickly to The Land of Unrealistic Expectations.
Some gooner will be absolutely convinced that they know exactly what the public wants based on nothing but a few likes on a Scenarios post here in the forums. They'll "invest" money they can't afford assuming they'll get it all back because everyone will appreciate their genius. And end up spending the next few months stress-whacking to the custom scene in an effort to "get their money's worth"--or at least get it below $100 a whack.
Then the next Spielberg of Porn will throw a ridiculously specific scenario out there starring the most popular model(s) and requiring an unheard of level of cameraman competence. The studios will come back quoting $20K+ and "Spielberg" will be stupefied.
Then one smart/lucky guy will request some simple hardcore done with a fresh-faced new teen model. That scene will be extremely popular (duh) and will forever be used as the one "winner" example that blinds everyone to the dozens of "losers".
That one guy striking gold will be enough to inspire a ton of wannabe Hugh Hefners to try their hand at the "custom VR investment opportunity". And, of course, the forums will end up spammed with people trying to promote "their porn". "Oh, if you like Nikki Nicole, check this out..." "Here's that doublereverse doggie cowgirl EVERYONE was requesting." "SCENE OF THE YEAR RIGHT HERE!!!!!!"
Then I will push out an AI-written "A Guide to Successful Custom VR Scene Investing" and roll in the money.

I guess the value here would be to get the model of your dreams in VR. I mean I stopped putting in requests in the Casting Suggestions forum, I don't think any of my requests were fulfilled, seems useless to post there. But if you could make some kind of crowd funding available to get your dream model in VR, then it might work. You could use programable crypto for example that automatically releases the money back to the 'investors' if the target hasn't been reached within a certain period of time, to lower any risks. And only if the scene is finished, the money gets released.
And if the scene becomes successful, the 'investors' get their money back (pro ratio their investment share) and then even some. But of course the main pleasure you get out of it is seeing the model you wanted in VR.
So yeah, seems interesting if done correctly.

It would either have to be pretty lax and up to the directors/talent on exactly what to film, or it'd have to be outlined somewhat clearly in the initial request - and leaving room for error/adjustments when on-set
What we really need is a guinea pig...
One of my main concerns is that if the payor receives all the money it earns, then the creators are not incentivized to go above and beyond.

jommy Yeah exactly. From a commercial pov for us clients here it doesn't make much sense. But crowd funding a scene might be interesting. I talked above about programmable crypto that releases the money back, but in hindsight this will just be too difficult since most won't use crypto. Better if SLR creates all infrastructure for this so like:
- A special part on this forum where people can post their idea's to crowd fund a scene.
- The monetary part, so wallets people here on this site can use to fund, then some rules like: everything gets sent back to the wallet if funding goal isnt reached within say 4 weeks.
- A pool of directors who people can choose to use, so to get them on board.
- distribution of generated income to the funders of the project, if the scene gets published here.
- Communication with the model that's chosen, so to let her know about the project, some rules etc and to find out if she's willing to do it.

I guess it could be interesting then. Yet still, probably quite a bit of work for SLR, not sure if it economically makes sense for SLR to do all this.
harigeharry I don't think the directors will enjoy being dictated to. They will have to film weird fetishes all the time that they don't understand and people will get angry at them for not filming it the right way.
Hairsational There will definitely be those kind of challenges. Also not sure if this is a good idea myself. I do know though that I'd be willing to pay a small amount, say maybe $25-$50 to get certain models to do a VR scene. It's up to SLR to follow up on the idea and see if it makes any sense.
Most people don’t order customs for financial returns, they pay a premium for the privilege of getting a scene made to their own kinks and specifications. It’s not something I’d ever have the money or the inclination to get into but models make a lot of money selling custom scenes. There’s a market for it, just not sure that market exists in VR as everyone seems to like the type of boring vanilla stuff that gets churned out already. Doesn’t seem to be a big desire for weird kinks in VR and SLR, with their compliance rules, would probably outlaw a lot of what those weird kinks might be anyway. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if there’s much interest.

I've ordered quite a few customs on ManyVids from POV solo performers. It's always worked well and most models I've ordered from have been professional, engaging and it's been reasonable priced. I would appreciate a similar option in VR and certainly interested. Alternatively I don't know where AI in this regard but a professional tool that through a fee could turn my customs into VR scenes would be great.
An alternative customs idea that I would also happily pay a fee for would be an AI option to change the words spoken and matching mouth movements in an VR scene. It could be so cool if I could have the model say my name or alternatively speak in my native language.
