I've always sensed a kind of hesitancy within SLR to delve too deeply into niche stuff. Part of it is the producers and their vanilla tastes.
But look how SLR treats Trans and Gay niches. Sure, they have it, but those sections barely get the minimum of attention from SLR staff: links and pages are fucked up, took forever to get AI scripts, still no AI PT, half the scenes don't have star names, heatmaps, or position tags. etc etc etc.

And I have to wonder whether the flat content SLR brings on board is going to be any different than the mainstream vanilla content we already see in VR. And, frankly, the same mainstream vanilla content that makes up 90% of all flat porn too.

Are we going to see intense LegalPorno-like gangbangs?
Or what about IR content like Blacked and BlacksonBlondes?
SLR already has a relationship with Kink.com, but are we gonna see shit from DeviceBondage, ElectroSluts, or UltimateSurrender?
What are the chances we'll see some Oldje scenes or granny porn?
Wet & Messy would be the simplest shit to film in VR, but we barely have any. Why would we think that SLR will bring in WAM?
I could continue to rattle off niches, but I think I made my doubts clear.

Frankly, I figure they'll contract with some 2nd rate content distributor to get 10 year old vanilla shit like CumFiesta and MilfHunter. Or, worse, a bunch of OnlyFans BS with 10000 identical POV BJ scenes in portrait mode and another 10000 identical POV JOI solo scenes. Then they'll proudly crow when the bring in some FFFM flat content like BFFS and go "here, you wanted FFFM, we got it for you"--and totally missing the point of the requests.

And what lessons are they gonna learn from the flat viewing stats? That people like big dicks, teen girls, huge tits, and fake incest.

SchnuppiLilac I have no idea. From the Resources section it looks almost all the data was from 5 or more years ago. They call it meta-analysis so they must have bought or stolen it from someone else. Garbage in, garbage out? Probably.

...i've always maintained that VR porn is a form of fetish in itself, in that the act of viewing porn in VR is significantly different from the norm, to such an extent it's in and of itself a unique experience. There are numerable aspects that put people off, but mostly those involve the unusual experience of having to wear a toaster on your face, whilst your brain learns to 'see' again. A little perseverance and it's not so hard, but it must put people off, it creates a barrier to VR porn in the same way a fetish may have a bizzar practise that initially appears off-putting.

That said, for a 'fetish' it's rather acceptable. It's a massively mainstream business that's subject to ridiculous hype, so we're profiting from billions of dollars in development filtering down to us for peanuts. What is needed is to drawn more people into the world of VR porn itself, having a 'flat' porn (now i want Flatland porn...) section should help with that. As well as introduce people to haptics, hopefully.

This business is changing rapidly, so businesses like SLR need to adapt rapidly. Hopefully they're making lots of money, and have plenty of cash for investment back into the business again. Haptics is gonna be huge. VR is gonna be huge. AI gonna make inroads all over the place. SLR is in a good position to be huge too, just gotta keep innovating, and not stop moving forward.

If SLR can nail the AI script machine so it can produce non POV scripts, has a sense of rhythm so it can do PMV's and cock hero's and the like, acquires an LLM so it can do JOI's, and can than also use it's 'imagination' to determine non-visual cues, then they're sitting on a serious gold mine.

Goddamn it i should have used an AI to write this, i'm rambling like a twat.

I do think it’s important not to become too reactionary to these plans. I’m sure SLR aren’t planning to go sokely to 2D or phase 3D VR content out, otherwise this would be massively dishonest on their part as many people like myself have paid for a lifetime subscription. I’m sure this is as they say, to drive viewers to SLR so that they can then become fans of VR.

Now on to what I believe is the most important and that is the production quality of SLR scenes they need to improve drastically! For the majority of this year, scenes have become very samey and vanilla constantly being dominated by John Strong who features virtually every video all filmed in art deco looking houses with white walls, the same positions… etc. SLR should be focusing on creating varied scenes with great production, different sets and different male talent. Please guys, for 2025, please go back to filming varied scenes like these! …
