metichemsi Lot to read here. But the perfect example of "stale VR" is practically anything by Badoinkvr. Hot models.... super repetative stale scenes. Fake lighting, the positions are so preplanned each video is a carbon copy of the last and the time in each. They do a good job at the artwork for the videos which makes me check them out every time but cant remember the last time one was any good, despite some super hot models. They just need to fire their director and get someone who cares to take a risk.

The flat videos is the reason I cancelled my DeoVR sub. Hopefully you don't make any tagging mistakes or allow fake converted videos.

BMZTV I dont care for flat videos either, but you know you could click on the flat video tag and simply select to hide all flat videos from your feed right?

maxsavage Just like any innovator, they seem to be going through a contraction phase where a business slowly starts to adopt facets of what it supposedly replaced or evolved from, just like amazon starting to open physical stores or paid streaming content apps now starting to have ads, even on paid plans. It doesnt matter how they try to spin it, it is what it is. Not a fan of it. I would personally prefer if they have to pivot to non-VR porn, that they would focus on acquiring all the years of lost SBS 3D porn that used to be out there, at least that crap was 3D. I can no longer find any reputable subscription site anywhere that still has SBS 3D porn now that VR headsets are able to provide the best viewing experience for general 3D content. There used to be european sites that had huge catalogs of it and even some american sites had some pretty good content like 3DXStar I believe. Where did all that content go?

doublevr Why has SLR become so lazy with their scenes now. Every video filmed in the same looking house with the same marble floor and ending in the bedroom with armpit close-ups no originality whatsoever where did the creativity of older scenes go?

...for years i've been watching porn on my VR headset. i didn't have a computer or any screens at all in my bedroom, just VR, used it for flatscreen and was very happy. Sometimes i'd catch something on the PC in my man cave living room, but often that was just scoping something for later, actual porn enjoyment time is always in the bedroom. My haptics are set up there, and also it's a lot more comfortable!

So i've recently been getting back into unscripted machines, self bondage, etc, and as there's a lot of constant stuff you need to be doing vis a vee dials, ropes, positions, etc (it's a bit like sailing a ship made of fuck machines, but you're the ocean...) it's easier not to be headseted up. So i put a massive TV and a PC in the bedroom, for science, obviously, to see what difference it would make.

i have noted two main effects. Firstly my experiences were enhanced specifically because i no longer had to keep fucking about with a headset. i hadn't noticed what a niggling distraction it is till i lost it, but there are a lot random adjustments one is always making, micro tweaking it constantly so eyes are correctly placed for perfect vision, repositioning the screen when you reposition your head, peaking under to see stuff, adjusting fit, wtvr, there's actually quite a lot going on subconsciously that years of usage has been masking. Losing the headset felt liberating, and allowed me to concentrate on my self and my practices for the sessions, and as a result it was more immersive than with a headset.

Second, i much preferred the experience of viewing the material through the TV. It was brighter, clearer, and much easier to focus on than with a headset. And thanks to the fact i'd acquired this ridiculously huge 65 inch bastard of a TV and had it a few feet from the bed, though it wasn't quite the 'cinema screen five inches from your face' effect you can get with a headset, it was about as propotionaly large as one generally settles on for comfort. But it was the brightness that got me. So bright and clear, no matter where i moved my head, always bright and clear, perfectly in focus. And that contributed significantly to immersive qualia, everything just fades away except the TV, just me and the porn.... nice.

The advantages of using a headset over a TV are real, you can sit a massive screen in front of you, it moves with you, it's very immersive, it blocks everything else out, etc, but those are also use specific, and i'd argue that in most use cases, a big TV beats 2D on headset, no contest.

Which really surprised me! i LOVE it when an experiment returns a different result from that which you predicted, i really thought i'd be coming down on the side of headsets, but no, all your base belong to TV.

Just so you all don't think i've gone full heresy on this one, when i went back to some good old VR haptic sex, it was amazing. The VR seemed to pop out at me, the immersiveness was perfect because i was getting my POV sexperience, as opposed to flat where even POV there is still just non-POV cos playing as POV. Real POV is only experienced in stereo vision, imo. And i fucking love being in that moment, it's what VR excels at. Or watching some non-POV that appeals to me, i love the dancers, etc, so much fun to actually be in the room with them! xD

So yeah, they're two different beasts, that use your brain differently to give you immersion. i'll still be using the headset for 2D, it's so convenient when i'm using funscripts i'm not bothered about going MFP on the PC. Anyway, i tend to start in POV VR and move over to 2D anyway as the session progresses (so many great scripts out there for 2D) but for sheer viewing enjoyment of 2D, a proper TV wins hands down. And of course there's so much free streaming porn out there, you never need to look far to find something interesting to watch.

Win-win...

sylvan Same here, I dont even see an option to make them stereoscopic. Its definitely not automatic. Just flat videos soon as you press play in a VR headset.

Nobody that DOESN"T have a VR headset is ever going to pay money for free porn. Never going to happen. Why would you?
So only people that have a VR headset and want to get porn the legal way are going to be able to see it. But why would you take the time to buy a SLR sub and buy a headset then go and watch 2d porn. It is never going to happen.

Just look at the 1 flat video SLR did as a test. It got 50 dislike comments. A couple SLR employee trying to say it is great and every other person disliked it. SLR tested it and thought it was a great success.

I don't think anybody is going to join because if it but as long as I don't see it in the VR feed then out of sight out of mind. Minus the money wasted that should go to what I paid for.
I do see one video in the VR feed today that is 2d. That shouldn't happen or people are going to get pretty mad fast

You don't need a VR headset to watch 2D porn on SLR, you can watch 2D and VR porn on a normal PC monitor if you wanted to and it looks fine (no side-by-side)

If they do end up attracting a lot of big and medium 2D studios to SLR then it will be a no brainer for anyone looking to pay for porn to give it a try. You get access to lots of studios for your money, just like a regular SLR VR subscription - that's the big appeal. It just takes time for an honest try at it, all the while everyone is shitting on the idea

The difficult thing is getting new people introduced to VR porn, once they are on the platform for 2D they are 50% of the way to buying a cheap Quest 2 off eBay and then they'll want to try sex toys and it snowballs from there. So I can hardly blame SLR for trying this approach, maybe they do actually want to be a top tier 2D streaming website and any VR convert customers are a bonus

They should just put a tab at the top left that says "2D porn" with a ? mouseover icon that explains it and stop calling it flat. Flat is confusing, especially to people that do not watch VR

And then there is "Flat immersive" - I have no clue what that even is. By nature 2D is not immersive and it's not VR converts, so what is it? Even the comments on the videos are confused by it

• I'm surprised they have not 100% successfully automated 2D porn video tagging and recognition, the metadata should be able to identify it surely, if not then they can identify it via thumbnail posters which all videos have

Either way they are attempting to bring more life into the website so i'm optimistic
